I hope she is self-funding since her family has the means to pay for it.
Her family? Ruby has the means to pay for it. It sometimes seems like people forget Ruby is a highly successful influencer with countless brand deals. She makes tons of money. Look up her own media company’s (Willowtree Media) corporate filings on gov.uk. Her yearly earnings are reported there and it’s public information.

It’s infuriating but I think she just knows how to play the academic game :)

It also helps that unlike other students , Ruby has no other responsibilities or a job that making YouTube videos and that she didn't do for weeks. So she does have enough time to tweak and work on her dissertation and assignments among with her usual writing methods. It's not like you see Ruby having to wake up at four to get work done for her lecturer or an assignment which is due but she has to start work at 1pm and the rest of the day is written off for getting her coursework done.

I need to keep reminding myself that when it comes to my own masters and grades. I somehow end up comparing myself to Ruby, thinking that I'm doing badly or I'm not getting enough studying done ( I used to be stupid enough watch her 14 hours study days and I would replicate them). I need to remind myself I'm working full time as well and that I've moved and wife had an operation while ive been attempting to write a dissertation.

Admittedly it's hard to shake off the feeling that I'm doing poorly compared to ruby's and I'm too old for this now. I don't know if this is the effect of study tube in general on me as well as Ruby marketing herself as the perfect and productive student with her 12 hour days. I don't know If anyone feels the same or I'm just a bit bonkers 😅

Am I right I in thinking that an MA with distinction is publishable? Maybe we'll be blessed with whatever nonsense she wrote soon enough.

Don't worry, you're not bonkers, I'm feeling the same. As a mature student who doesn't get any financial assistance, I have to balance work and uni, as well as managing my own household and making sure I have enough time for my partner and for friends. I have elderly parents and in-laws, my boyfriend's mum died in March so we've had to look after my father-in-law to make sure he's ok and of course deal with our own grief. It's not been an easy semester. Being able to exclusively focus on university without any financial worries, like Ruby can, that's a luxury.

About to start work at a library?!
Probably either as a research assistant/archivist type role or a simple part-time job. Whatever the role I sincerely doubt it'll be a new start for her, and she'll continue much as she has in previous years.

Is she going to living near the library or is now going to pay Martha to ferry her round
By all means don’t learn to drive but don’t then become reliant on people to take you everywhere

Exactly. She’s a grown woman now who doesn’t need to rely on mummy and daddy to continue to fund her academic cosplay.

She once said she'll rent out the cottage for another year after finishing uni and then move in. I'm starting to think this is secretly all just an act of procrastination. If she never leaves uni she never has to move out. *galaxy brain*

I am absolutely here for the upcoming library routine videos. I'm glad she's getting a job though, she needs to get out of the garden twirling, blue porridge era.

I'm honestly surprised about her result. Either she can play the academic system very well or she's doing a lot better than she's letting on. I wish her well, it's no small feat even if I've had my doubts about her messing up pretty standard things like siblings etc. If she is working in a library then I mean it'd suit her I guess, I just hope it will give her that push she needs to stop relying on her family and maybe begin to be more independent. I understand not driving, sensory issues from autism and very bad anxiety has left me a hazard behind the wheel with panic attacks and meltdowns, but she does seem to resort back home a lot for someone our age. I'll give her grace, the pandemic did a number on me as well and I can't afford to move out even if I tried, but I just hope her being out of her house and having a job meeting regular people will do her some good and she works through this whole childhood regression

I'd bank on it being volunteer work at her family's local library for a couple of hours sporadically over the summer, same as she did with the classroom assistant's assistant job she barely showed up for. She'll still have her mummy or Martha drive her back and forth like she did at the school, even though it's round the corner.

She'll show no footage of it, never explain what she actually does and be purposefully vague to let her fans believe she's an actual librarian.

WAAARKING AT THE LOIBREEEE will just be the new replacement off-screen "waaaaahrk" task that she slots into staged vlogs to fill a random window of time on her six-days-crammed-into-24-hours fake schedule.

Also her desperate Waterstones sponsor-begging was always hilarious, but shilling another James Daunt shop in The Times takes it to a whole new level.

Oof I’m an actual librarian with a degree and if this is anything more than just a shelving/assistant job, I’m going to be pissed
