I don't know if you have this in other countries, but when I was little we had something called "Schlumpfeis" (smurf ice cream) in Germany. It had roughly the same colour.
I've been a bit behind on Ruby's posts on insta, but is anyone else surprised to see Ruby wearing jeans??! Why doesn't she ever wear jeans? She actually looks like a somewhat normal adult here. Just wondering because it seems to be a fashion item that everyone wears in today's day and age, and yet Ruby barely wears them. Is it because it wouldn't fit in with her dark macademia aesthetic?

Yeah, the jeans things is definitely part of her "OIY'M JANUINELY NWOT LOIKE OTHA GARRLS!" façade, just like her constantly shouting how VARRY MOCH VEEEGAN she is despite all evidence to the contrary.
She clearly likes and feels very comfortable in jeans considering she owns dozens of pairs in a variety of styles and colours, but she didn't think jeans fit the fake narrative she crafted that she always dresses like a Victorian orphan, so she got herself tangled in easily-disproven lies again.

Decent video littered with interesting tidbits. Weird she didn't mention the Alice shop, given she was very close to it once they left Christchurch.
The building they showed also wasn't Merton :

Also slightly surprised Brideshead Revisited didn't get a mention. She read that back when she was in Venice, no? That's a very Oxford novel despite so little of it being in oxford.

Clicked video on, could not understand her mumbling, rapid chatting and whispering. Not interested in seeing she and her mother go gah gah over bookstores that really don't look that unique. I can swoon over books at bookstores in my own town. Thumbed it down, left. Didn't waste my time watching the other 3/4ths of her vlog. She is just utterly boring. She acts like she is on speed!
On the topic of her library job, here's the requirements for an Oxford library "graduate trainee library assistant".
There isn't any mention of a specific qualification in library science, and she does have a first in English, plus now a masters, and has evidence (from an emploters perspective) of knowing some Latin and Spanish, as well as having experience in social media and curation.
This thread has spent a long time saying how Ruby should go into archiving because she seems to care more about the physical objects than the texts, and now freaks out when she does just that. I know the point is to essentially be negative, but I think at a certian point, it's okay to admit that she is a very qualified young person who, like many in their early twenties, isn't sure what she wants to do next.

Personally I find it hard to see her working in any library, other than a small stint at the school she attended and was bullied at. I don't see her as having amazing people skills or working a 9-5 job, 5 days a week, limited vacation time, and living on her own. She gets homesick too often, runs home every minute she can, seemed to be happy to get away from Oxford unless visiting with Mommy or Blakeney. Albeit, if she does work there, full-time, she will find she has little time or energy for YouTube or other social media platforms. She can't be constantly filming herself putting books on shelves or reaching for books, or chatting about it, showing outfits of the day. She has deadlines and needs to be professional. She has never been in any kind of environment like work before. She really doesn't understand what a regular job is like or how tiring it can be, even if you are surrounded by something you think or pretend you like. Work is work. She's going to have to jump in eventually, and move forward. But it is going to be very difficult for her as her work experience is basically nil.
So like this whole past year huh?
I personally think she will welcome another excuse to do less youtube as she seems quite over it and only does low quality videos to keep getting ad money.
It’s amazing to me that she manages to misspell the simplest words even when they are literally in the frame for reference. She may be qualified on paper for a job as a library assistant, but I think there are some practical considerations that will slow her down
