On the topic of her library job, here's the requirements for an Oxford library "graduate trainee library assistant".
There isn't any mention of a specific qualification in library science, and she does have a first in English, plus now a masters, and has evidence (from an emploters perspective) of knowing some Latin and Spanish, as well as having experience in social media and curation.
This thread has spent a long time saying how Ruby should go into archiving because she seems to care more about the physical objects than the texts, and now freaks out when she does just that. I know the point is to essentially be negative, but I think at a certian point, it's okay to admit that she is a very qualified young person who, like many in their early twenties, isn't sure what she wants to do next.
