So, according to her latest TikTok she finished reading Genuine Fraud (she read about half of it), looked out the window and contemplated the ending, watched an episode of The Summer I Turned Pretty, did some writing and (or ?) wrote some poetry, started another book, Small Things Like These by Claire Keegan and almost finished it (she had 20 pages left to read). But she did all of that during a 2 HOUR FLIGHT.

Huh?!??

The first episode of the show alone is 45 minutes. Also, I have read Small Things Like These by Keegan (which I absolutely recommend!) and although it's a short book (you could call it a novella), it's one that I enjoyed reading slowly. Not because it's dense or complicated, but because the story itself is in some way "quiet" or subtle and the pace isn't really fast. I'm sorry if my english isn't the best (and I'm really trying to not sound too rubyesque with this comparison) but the book felt comforting and quiet, a bit like the calm that exists during a snowfall at night, even though the story itself is dark at times, you know ?

So, Ruby almost finishing it in less than 2 hours (given the fact she did all those other things) tells me that 1) she either speed-reads or 2) she lies about having almost finished it. But why??? Why must you always lie?

Sigh... Maybe I'm just a really slow reader. And honestly, I prefer to be a slow reader and to actually engage with the story than do whatever the hell she's doing just to appear like a bOoKwORm and have 800 books marked as "read" on Goodreads.
The irony of Ruby lying about reading a book called JANUINE Genuine Fraud...

I noticed she also drinks a lot of "digestive" tea and cookies. Are those laxatives? It's really common with people who want to lose weight to use laxatives frequently, and while Ruby definitely seems to me to want to be the smallest version of herself, I wasn't sure because it seemed odd that mentions it so casually in her videos.
Nah they’re just a very common biscuit here in the U.K. - and you can get tea that’s flavoured like them, so I’m guessing that’s what she means. They were created supposedly to aid proper digestion but they’re not a laxative or anything, and now you can get chocolate coated ones or just plain ones. They’re pretty much a biscuit tin staple 🙂

"Write out your weekly routine and set it in your timetable as something you're going to do and do that NAOW. Because...things get out of hand so quickly and you want to kind of, like, keep things play-sated when things get really stressful at school."

Umm...does she mean placated? Because that's not how you say that and it's not really what the word means.

Just watched her latest video on preparing for back to school university.

I genuinely can't see any other outcome for Ruby other than training as a teacher after her Masters. She is so clearly bizarrely emotionally attached to the academic year. How on earth would she work a normal 9-5 where September is just another normal month????!
Teaching is actually a very difficult job. You have to be patient and there is a lot of meetings with school, fellow teachers, and parents to be considered. You have to make lesson plans and exams, be able to speak constantly and keep your students interested, as well as under control. You have to deal with kids getting into fights with each other and getting unexpectedly sick on the desk. You name it, teaching covers it. You also have to correct papers and exams after hours. She was already complaining on how tired she was just working part-time as an assistant for 2 days a week. She would also have to figure out permanent and dependable commuting and not rely on Ubers and parents. She will pick up every virus they have and yet really can't take any sick days. Schools are very strict on how much time you take off. This is all the basic stuff. It does not take into consideration how ill-prepared she is, nor how immature and awkward she is socially. She would be a wreck at the end of the first day.

Ruby's back on her nonsensical performative poverty bullshit. She wasted £750+ on an iPad Pro and keyboard combo that she didn't need since she owns an iMac, a MacBook and an iPad, but tries desperately to convince everyone that she's VARRY PWOOR and this was a VARRY SOSSTAINABLE PARRCHASE because it was (GASP) SACKOND-HAAHHND.

Don't forget the gifted laptop she had athall that is now probably covered in mould

Agreed - I mean I get that she can’t help the way her thumbs are, but I’m sure she could get a professional manicure with some pointers, her nails would look so much better.
Yep, the short thumbs are not the issue (as we know that’s totally out of her control), it’s the scraggly, overgrown, uncared for nails. Slapping some cheap nail polish on them does not count. She’d be better off not painting them at all and just focusing on shaping them nicely and caring for her cuticles. Even that wouldn’t matter so much if she didn’t insist on always showing her hands in “aesthetic” closeup videos. I will never understand her willingness to keep including dirt, mess and dead insects in her content. My life isn’t perfect but you can bet I’d clean up a bit and trim my nails if I was going to broadcast some aspect if it to thousands of people online.

She’s making such a huge mistake not doing the preparation. Girl, what is wrong with you!
Going back to the previous thread for a moment, I think Rubes could look nice but she has absolutely no idea how to dress or present herself. I’m not saying women owe it to the world to look their most conventionally attractive, but it’s… very clear she is more interested in trying to look TWALVE YAHRS OLD than any kind of genuine interest in personal styling.

As with all aspects of Ruby’s life, she could improve so easily but she won’t bother.

Ruby posted a quote from 1984 as though it were a cheerful ode to the joys of reading. She missed the point entirely and didn't seem to grasp that 1984 is a satire or that the quote wasn't intended as a positive until many people pointed it out to her. Most people quickly realised she hadn't read the book at all.

She got roasted for it and then made it worse with a moronic follow-up post where she confirmed that she hadn't even read 1984, had just grabbed a random quote from Goodreads, and her getting the very clear meaning of Orwell's writing completely wrong was okay ACKSHUALLY, because the quote could be interpreted many ways.

But she hasn't learned from that experience and keeps doing it time and time again. She'll blatantly just Google "literary quotes about [blank]" and slap them on an Instagram post to appear like her mind is an endless stockpile of memorised passages from books she's read, and every time she screws something up and gives away that she never reads any of what she claims.
I'm sorry, but how can she consider herself well read if she hasn't read 1984? It's a very basic classic and I'm surprised she was able to skirt through GCSEs without having read it let alone A-levels

Considering all of her self esteem has come from being the SmaRtEsT GiRL iN CLasS I think she knows it’ll be a whole different ball game where she’s going and she won’t be able to cope with going from how she was at school to that. She probably got a taste of it in uni already, but this is going to be bad if she doesn’t learn how to actually engage with texts beyond desperately trying to sound clever when she speaks about them.

I am also an idiot who thought a candle like that is called a candlestick (although I have no interest in candles, unlike Ruby who is supposedly OBSASSED with them). But if anyone picked me up on it I would definitely have googled and realised my mistake, rather than blindly insisting what I said was right.

Whoops, Ruby wasn't paying attention when Googling "quotes about siblings" and accidentally reveals she didn't actually read the thing she claims she read, for the 42,948,567th time.

I'm also dying at Ruby's weirdly clinical and ambiguous birthday message to her sister; note that Ruby doesn't actually says anything positive about her sister or their relationship anywhere in this post.
She's 100% going to claim she meant Sophocles as 'he' 😂 Her insistence on pretending to be well-read and quoting works she has never touched is baffling.

One of her old videos popped out so I skimmed through it and...

13:21 Poetry article.

What's with 21 lolololol did she think this made her look super strict with her time, and therefore so very good brilliant smartest?

Also does anyone remember how she used to humble-brag about how early she (apparently) woke up? She'd go like, "Ohhh, this is so bad, I got up SO late today, it's now 7 in the morning..." and she'd like all the comments that would say "haha meanwhile I consider 10 am to be early".

Remember when she did that odd giveaway for students/teachers to contact her to give away a free planner to their entire class? I don’t know how many people entered but we never heard if there was a winner.
No winners were announced for any of the giveaways she did and they were almost all scams.

Ruby announced a giveaway, asked people to tag their friends, she got a boost of engagement and free advertisement for her products, then insisted that winners would be contacted directly so that nobody would know that there were no winners and she wasn't going to send anything out.

She was constantly asking people to enter in the comments and tag their friends, so privacy concerns weren't an issue preventing her from announcing names publicly for these giveaways, it was just a tell-tale trick to hide that she wasn't sending things to people.

There haven't been any "prep" vlogs as yet nor has she read much relating to the time period her course will be based on.

Sorry you've had a rough time ❤
She has already finished the books reading list yesterday and then she started with the reading from the other masters, but she doesn't want to share the things she's learned and the books she's read for privacy reasons!
