So I most unwisely watched Rubert’s new video. Two things… Firstly, if she’s been practising academic writing for ten minutes daily since 2016, why on earth isn’t she a better writer? She just… isn’t very good. I’m genuinely surprised that she claims to have such a consistent writing practice; is this a Rubert porky-pie? Am baffled.

Secondly, did my eyes and ears deceive me or did she cite Gatsby as a good example to follow of how to conduct one’s day-to-day life? 😂

Question about Ruby’s “novels”… is it the case that every time she writes one it gets rejected by her Agent? I literally don’t understand how she’s been going at it for (almost two years?) and it’s not even left the drafting stages.
She's not always rejected by her agent, but it seems apparent that Ruby and her agent are as bad as each other when it comes to low standards of quality and misguided expectations of the weight that Ruby's social media following has.

By my count, she's pitched the following to her agent:
  • Lottie Parton is a Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Friend (YA mystery) - Accepted by her agent, redrafted several times, sent out on submission to publishers, rejected by publishers, pulled from submission by Ruby.
  • Penelope Peppermint and the Silver-Tipped Octopus (Lemony Snicket knock-off) - Rejected by her agent outright.
  • Untitled Dark Macadamia Book - Accepted by her agent, not yet in a fit state to send out on submission.
Her agent was happy enough with Lottie Parton that she thought she could get a quick and easy sale from a publisher based purely on Ruby's following and it being in a very popular, marketable genre, lack of quality be damned.

The samples that Ruby showed from the stage where she was out on submission were bafflingly bad considering she'd apparently gone through several drafts with her agent, which doesn't paint either of them in a great light.

Ruby thought she'd magically get a book deal right away because she's been told her whole life she's AVVER SYO SPASHOL AND SYO VARRY TALENTED and her agent hasn't done anything to really divorce her of that notion by signing her with no evidence of writing talent and without a first draft. Meanwhile, her agent has zero common sense to sign Ruby at all, let alone before she'd produced a completed manuscript of any quality.

If this latest book goes out on submission, it'll be met with the same rejection as the last one. Her agent doesn't make a penny from Ruby until something sells, so there's only so many failed submissions before Ruby gets dropped.

I just did a precursory search and didn't find it though? I found that Willowtree thing that was posted earlier, which I can safely assume isn't it, but it's most definitely not just there and easy to find.

I think there's cause for concern about both, the amount of people who say they have dreams about her and know her address in these threads 💀 I'd be more worried about that, if I were Ruby, than the comments on her account 💀

(I'm fully braced for the 'oKaY, RuBy' comments that always get rolled out like clockwork)
She's reined it in a lot now but Ruby herself has put that information out there herself in a lot of ways over the years. She's intentionally or unintentionally doxxed herself in content and over. She intentionally had all her school information on her public LinkedIn (which she has listed under her fake Ruby Granger name rather than her real name) for the longest time, for example.

I have no interest in doxxing her, so I'm not gonna say what to Google, but it is really easy to find with information that's been provided in her content. Personally I was only curious to know where she lived since it adds additional context and contradictions to some of her lies and the weirder things she does in her content, like getting a taxi to work when it's practically round the corner from her.

I've never dreamt about Ruby, but I feel like if you spend your waking hours doing something a lot, it's likely to seep into your dreams. If you binge-watch a TV show, you might dream about it, and if you watch a lot of content regularly from an influencer, the same's true there, too. I don't think it's a sign that anyone's building a shrine to Ruby in their attic.

Maybe that's why she hasn't done much of her course readings. She might not plan on actually taking those courses
Yes, this is exactly what I am thinking too. She has been very quiet about it all, really. Just these weird back to school videos that cater to pre-teens. It is so cringe that she makes these still. The fact that she has avoided questions about Oxford and what she is studying, how she is preparing for her Masters and just a feeling of her completely disinterested makes me feel she does not plan to stick with it, but instead switch once she is there. Then we will get all her sob vlogs of why she changed and how everyone is questioning her. Nothing about her is genuine.

Thanks for the summary! Her lack of preparation for uni is giving me anxiety. I'd have expected her to be posting a lot more Oxford content by now. Things like "Oxford prep to do list" "What I'm reading for Oxford" "What I'm bringing with me to Oxford" that sort of thing.
I swear on some level she must be in denial panic mode. Imagine the pressure, basically finally entering Oxford is the moment her whole life up to now had lead up to. I think she's just panicing too much to do anything about it.

Really annoyed me that she was so in love with the new iPad and it became her favourite thing when she already has an iPad 9th gen which does exactly the same thing except doesn’t have the home button. And she also has a MacBook and an iMac.
I bet she won't even use it. I can see her turning up to seminars with parchment and a quill, because she will finally be at Hogwarts Oxford.

I get that ipads are useful for making 'NYYOTESSS' but she has a macbook she could use, plus the other ipad, plus that Remarkable digital notepad thing that she shills as being excellent to write notes on and can transfer the files over. So what gap is the bigger ipad filling, exactly? She's going to need to plug them all in every night to charge.

Surely most students get by ok with a laptop and maybe an ipad for handwriting notes.

I think she only got the new-to-her ipad because of the video, was it sponsored?

“someone who gets tea and coffee out and about” why do you need to have that as a goal for who you want to be at the end of the year? you can just do that, like, now. you live in the uk, go to any large town and there’ll be starbucks, costa, caffe nero… potentially even a - gasp - independent coffee shop! good grief.
I do exercises like these every now and then to keep myself on track, but Ruby’s answers here made me so sad… she clearly has no direction in life or real passion. A regular person’s answers would have direction and intention behind them. You want to choose big things that would seriously improve the trajectory of your life, career, relationships, wellbeing etc and move you toward your big goals.

Buying tea and coffee out has to be the saddest aspiration I have ever heard 😭

I wouldn't put it past her try using it to cheat her way into a literary career, too, asking ChatGPT to write her a VARRRY COMMARSHALLY FRANDLY YA MYSTERY BOCK IN THE STOYLE OF 'A GUGGARRLS GOYD TYO MARRDAR' WITH A DARK MACADEMIA ASSTATTICK ABOUT A GARRL WHYOO IS MORE INTALLIJANT THAN ANNYONE BUT WHYO IS BOLLIED FWORE BEING TYOO SMART

Title: Shadows of Brilliance

Chapter 1: The Enigma Unveiled

In the quaint town of Woodsville, where ancient academia met the contemporary world, resided a girl named Emily Vance. With her unrivaled intelligence and boundless curiosity, she stood out like a solitary star in a clouded sky. As the daughter of a renowned professor, she had inherited her father's insatiable thirst for knowledge. But little did Emily know that her brilliance would soon draw her into a dark enigma.

Chapter 2: Whispering Secrets

At Woodsville Academy, where Emily was enrolled, she quietly devoured every subject, leaving teachers both in awe and somewhat intimidated by her insurmountable intellect. However, for every admirer, there were two envious souls who felt threatened by her presence.

Chapter 3: The Chilling Chatter

Rumors spread like wildfire, whispering tales of Emily's supposed arrogance and haughtiness. The jealous minds of her peers fueled these stories, casting shadows upon her brilliance. Soon, the once warm hallways turned cold with hostility, and Emily found herself the subject of ridicule.

Chapter 4: A Timely Tryst

Amidst the darkness, a flicker of hope appeared. James, a fellow student with a heart of gold, saw through the malice and recognized Emily's true nature. A friendship blossomed, and together they vowed to unravel the mystery behind the bullying.

Chapter 5: The Hidden Society

In the hidden corners of Woodsville Academy, they stumbled upon a clandestine society known as "The Shadow Scholars." This group, masked by academic brilliance, operated like a secret brotherhood, preying on those they deemed too intelligent for their own good.

Chapter 6: Unraveling the Enigma

With their combined wits and bravery, Emily and James dug deeper into the heart of the sinister society. As they uncovered hidden agendas and malicious schemes, they realized the true extent of the danger they were in.

Chapter 7: The Hunted

Their investigation did not go unnoticed, and soon, Emily and James became the hunted. The Shadow Scholars were ruthless in their pursuit, leaving no stone unturned to extinguish the brilliance they perceived as a threat.

Chapter 8: Into the Abyss

As they delved deeper into the shadows, Emily's intelligence became both her strength and her vulnerability. The lines between friend and foe blurred, and the darkness threatened to engulf them.

Chapter 9: The Light Within

With the odds stacked against them, Emily and James found strength in their friendship. They refused to be defeated by the malevolence around them. Together, they embraced the uniqueness that set them apart.

Chapter 10: Unmasking the Shadows

In a heart-pounding showdown, Emily and James confronted the leaders of The Shadow Scholars. With their intelligence and quick thinking, they exposed the true culprits behind the web of deception.

Chapter 11: Shining Bright

With the truth exposed, Woodsville Academy underwent a transformation. The bullies were held accountable, and the brilliance of Emily was no longer a curse but celebrated as a rare gift.

Chapter 12: Lessons in Light and Dark

Through their extraordinary journey, Emily and James learned that true intelligence lies not only in knowledge but in empathy and understanding. The experience fortified their friendship, and they became beacons of light in a world that had been tainted by shadows.

You're a goddamn detective. Wait till you catch her using ChatGPT to write her Master's essays for her lol.
Given how quick she was to use every lazy, dodgy shortcut under the sun for her undergrad degree to avoid doing the required reading or her own work and how much she's been using ChatGPT lately, I don't doubt she'll be trying to use AI to cheat her way through Oxford.

Oxford have made it clear that the use of AI to assist with or write submitted work is forbidden and shortcuts like that are considered an academic offence, so if she gets caught on camera, she's screwed.

I wouldn't put it past her try using it to cheat her way into a literary career, too, asking ChatGPT to write her a VARRRY COMMARSHALLY FRANDLY YA MYSTERY BOCK IN THE STOYLE OF 'A GUGGARRLS GOYD TYO MARRDAR' WITH A DARK MACADEMIA ASSTATTICK ABOUT A GARRL WHYOO IS MORE INTALLIJANT THAN ANNYONE BUT WHYO IS BOLLIED FWORE BEING TYOO SMART, or getting AI to write her poems in the style of AMMILY DICKINSON to submit to literary competitions.

The fact that she's openly talking about and showing herself using ChatGPT lately is especially stupid to me. This is someone who positions herself as being VARRY old-fashioned and a JANUINE lover of writing and literature. She claims to want to be a career author. And it's clear that her interests in writing and reading are completely superficial at best, entirely fake at worst, but for her to openly latch onto AI when it's putting so many creative jobs and careers under threat is baffling.

You'd think she's have learned to read the room and consider what she promotes nowadays and how it fits in with the brand she's created. But she's a dumbass with no common sense who doesn't consider other people and just wants shortcuts to make herself look smart, even though she always manages to make herself look like the stupidest, laziest, greediest, most dishonest person in the process.

If you're so bored at the age of 23 that you're making a recipe book, copying out poems, or painting over a book cover, then I think it's a sign to get a job.

None of those things alone seem like bad activities. The part that I find odd is that she has absolutely no drive to become independent of her parents. In theory, would it be great to not have to work and still enjoy all the finer things in life? Of course. The issue is that's not our reality. One day, her parents are gonna die, and then what will she do? I'm sure she brings in quite a bit from Youtube and the home she owns and that her parents plan to leave her with quite a few assets, but that's very different from developing a work ethic and knowing how to sustain a household, cooking, cleaning, etc.

I wonder why she wrote ”year one” here, it’s a one-year degree to begin with 👀 Does she not know how long her degree is, or is she already planning to eke it out to two years somehow?

Ruby went ahead and made the floor her ceiling.

Why put effort into anything when you can convince yourself that doing absolutely nothing but go on an endless series of lengthy holidays is as hard as you can work?

I think Ruby knows she's out of her depth, hence the u-turn videos on grading/the purpose of learning. She's cunningly paved the way to avoid sharing her marks if she's sullied with anything other than a distinction. "Januinaly, I'm here to larn, hence why I'm not sharring my grades!"

Ugh, that floor  I'm assuming someone in her family, most likely her mother, is filming this and saw no problem with showing their house in this state. So up to some point, you can say that Rumbster is just used to living in filth and it's normal for her because she was brought up like that. But then... she grows up? she goes to other people's home? She sees other people's home in videos, movies, series etc?? Did she really never notice that nobody has wet, disgusting floor, and grimy countertops, moldy sinks, and smelly sheets????

Her latest video is nothing but an Ad for her planner. An undeclared Ad. So I reported it. So did my friend. So should everyone. It is time she learns and if enough people complain, maybe, for once, action will take place. She should not be allowed to slip through the rules because her parents have some extra bucks. So sick of her entitled attitude. She gets worse every year. I reported, thumbed it down and not even bothering to watch it. I use Erin Condren planners!

I think it’s important not to presume someone’s sexuality. Part of me feels like her sheltered life will probably end up with her meeting someone, getting married, having a nuclear family and living in a manor like mummy and daddy.
What you’re actually saying, though, is that we shouldn’t presume someone has a non-straight sexuality. Straight is the default, and “not presuming” = presuming someone is straight. That’s exactly what you’re doing by speculating about her meeting “someone” (implicitly a dude) and having “a nuclear family” (by which you mean a male partner and children).

I am definitely not saying you’re wrong to have that opinion, or that you shouldn’t have posted! It absolutely could work out that way. Just that this too is an assumption about Ruby’s sexuality, as much as it is when someone suggests she could be queer.

RE Ruby's bedsheets, it could just be that she has multiple sets of identical bedding and so it just looks like it hasn't been changed?
When she unboxed the ones she was gifted, she showed that she was only sent one full set of grey striped bedding and one full set of the dark check bedding. She's left that grey sheet on since she got it.

With bedding like the pumpkin one that she left on her bed for months on end, she mentioned herself that she bought just the one from Asda.

I suppose there a very slim possibility that she's bought extras of all her bedding, or washes sheets/covers off-screen just to put the exact same ones straight back on, but I think if that were happening, she'd be rushing to include those VARRY PRODOCKTIVE ACTIVITEEEEEAS in her vlogs to make her days look busier.

Given everything she's shown of herself and her laundry/hygeine habits it seems pretty clear she just leaves them on her bed for months and months and is happy being a disgusting mess.
