As much as I am glad she finally got a larger desk, it feels so anti-climatic as this is something that should have happened years before university days. Now she isn't even doing anything other than posing and pretending. Is she even teaching still, because she never talks about it! Listening to her mother whine about her changing her outro just illustrates where Ruby gets her immaturity and weird personality. Good grief. Let it go and move on. You can hardly squeeze between the desk and the bed now. She has long since outgrown this bedroom and needs to get her own place. Her rooms at uni were bigger than this nursery sized room, which is probably what it was, back in the day. I wonder how her students feel about teacher showing her bedroom and every item in every drawer of her desk like a 10 year old would do. At some point in time, which Ruby has long since passed, you need to grow up and share less. Keep things personal. Stop oversharing on socials. There is such a high level of cringe knowing students know what their teacher's bedroom looks like, even if she is only teaching temporarily. Most people at this point are either done with YT videos or find a more neutral background/setting to their videos, like a sofa and a living room background or fake backdrop. She definitely has Peter Pan syndrome.

The fact that she is going skiing during school term tells me that she might not be working at the school anymore because if she was working at the school she would have arranged this ski trip during half term. Plus I have noticed that she has been more active on Instagram lately and when she was working at the school she was less active on social media in general, so I think she has finished her teaching job as she hasn't made any references to it lately and in her videos she hasn't mentioned anything about doing some prep work for the students.

Maybe some of the kids mentioned Ruby as an assistant to their parents and someone complained to the school so she had to leave?? Bit far fetched but wouldn’t surprise me either that she’s completely left which wouldn’t be surprising either.

If she’s no longer working there, she won’t have ”finished” it, she’ll have quit it. She was hired for the whole term. Either someone laid down the law re. keeping private when a student commented on her social media, OR (and I’m inclined to think this is the case) she gave it up, either because it was giving her anxiety or because she got into Oxford and figured she could drop the pretense.

I actually kind of enjoyed the new video. Something a little different, and at the end when she was interacting with Mummy Granger, she actually seemed a lot more likeable and natural. I’m sure someone will come and shoot down my little balloon of optimism, but I feel like this is a step in the right direction - doing normal, real things (although I’m pretty sure Daddy Bones did a lot of the work behind the scenes lol), not playing Victorian infant make-believe in their crack den of a garden.

Yeah I agree, she’s definitely better when she’s interacting with other people, and I think generally seems and sounds fairly normal when there’s someone else there. When she’s on her own, it just becomes super cringey and performative, bordering on plain weird.

If you want it on video just check her highschool ones, and some of her first year uni vlogs, she wears regularly jeans. She only started to pretend not wearing it when she went on her victorian child/ filthy cottage core character arc 'cause you know... Not ancient enough for the look. Not pretentious enough. Her favourite decorative books authors don't mention it.

If you're using phrases like 'a jolly good time' you really need to set your story in the 1940s.

She seems to have no clue how basic anatomy works and characters can apparently contort their limbs like pretzels, extend them at will or just detach them entirely. They can see in all directions at once like they've mastered astral projection. They all seem to be compulsively tapping their "finger pads" on everything in every scene. Their skin is usually a bubbling nightmare of ticks, twitches and wildly fluctuating temperature extremes. Whole book full of bleeping aliens.

I forgot how much weird anatomical detail there was in the Lottie Parton book. Honestly it makes me wonder about Ruby's mental state. Why does she keep including these hyper-detailed physical descriptions? It gives me the creeps!

Exactly my point. Seems she may have only worked for 6 weeks. So what about 18 days work in totality? No wonder she needs a holiday. She must be exhausted. She'll probably spend more time on the slopes than she did working. Actually thinking about it I wonder was she even employed or was this some voluntary position? I don't think she'd get a new desk if she knew she got accepted to Oxford? But idk bc rich people just like having things lmao. Also, about the teaching job, I think she really did make it seem like it was a serious job, but it was probably only an exam prep tutoring position. I think we also predicted that she rarely spoke about it on purpose just in case she wanted to leave.

Also, is she teaching at her old school? I looked her up in the current staff directory on their website and she's not on there. (edit: I found it)
