A CV should only even hit the 2 page mark if your older and have years worth of relevant experience, I bet Ruby’s is 2 pages full of the same rit on her linkedin.
Yeah I feel like a CV for someone in their early - mid twenties should really only include a short paragraph about yourself and what you’re looking for jobs wise, your education + qualifications, your previous/current employment and skills (this should make up the bulk of the CV) and then a short part about any relevant extra things which you have done. No need to be listing out modules which you studied at uni or tit like that.
The first impression I get from this is that she has no focus. Not in the classes she took, not in the activities she participated in. While there is always something to be said for being well-rounded, these are very weak interests. Trampolining and Surfing will get you nowhere in life. I don't even remember her talking about surfing while at Uni, other than a few times going with her father. If she is not competing in these sports, why is she filling up precious time with them? My POV is seeing this through the eyes of an American. Maybe it is different over in the UK, but involvement in sporting activities through school or university usually means being on a team or competing at some level. Where are the competitions and how did she place? Or did she just randomly go to a gym and jump up and down on a trampoline? Weird. Harry Potter Society....nothing needs to be said there. It is frivolous and considering the way the majority of her fans now feel about JK Rowling, it isn't something I would personally advertise! I get that Rowling went to Exeter, so the connection there, but still, there surely were more challenging literature themed societies being offered? Theology...again, I don't remember her ever sharing any information on being a member or what they did. Besides, that is related to the major she quit, so that doesn't look particularly promising. Especially since she is either Agnostic or an Atheist. I forget which she proclaimed. It just seems like a filler to me. If asked about her participation in detail I would expect very little would emerge.
I don't think there's anything wrong with participating in "frivolous" things just for the fun of it even though you're never gonna make any money out of it, I just wouldn't put it on my CV
In my second year at university I did 6 modules and in my third year I did 4 modules however one of these modules was my dissertation.
She still hasn't changed her Youtube "About" section as well, even though people have commented on that under her previous videos. Her response is always something like omg, yessss, you are so right, i've been just SO BUSY!
I’m American too but there’s plenty of clubs, organizations, and sports that don’t need to be competitive if you don’t want them to be. Sometimes it’s just fun to participate in something just for fun without the pressure of competition. But I agree with everyone about it not being very relevant to put it on her CV. Reminds me of when i reluctantly removed Space Society Email Coordinator off of mine

She used to do that more back in her GCSE and early Exeter days but I wouldn't put it past her. Especially because she has Harry Potter Society on her LinkedInThe country that I did my undergrad in, we did 8 modules in a year. So 4 each semester (for full-time students). Semester 1 is from Feb to July and Semester 2 is August to November. Each year's exams are held in Oct-Nov.
Her university most likely used the ECTS credits system, where you typically complete classes making up 60 credits per year. In early years of my degree I took 12 classes a year each being worth 5 credits each but in final year I had 20 credit modules which had a bigger workload and more contact hours. It’s pretty common in the UK afaik. Ruby did a l dissertation module, and they’re usually worth more than a typical 5 credit module.

I just went to nose about on the society IG and,,, she wasn't even VP. Like she's not even mentioned in the committee anywhere. How pathetic!! If you're going to lie about something, at least make it cool and relevant to your LinkedIn!!
Huh, I swear she only mentioned it a few times and then it got buried and forgotten just like her book club
I don't think she takes it too seriously because she wasn't seriously looking for a job anyway. I think her using the Granger last name and listing all those things is just so her fans will think that she was a prodigy who was able to balance a ton of activities with her academics. It seems to be mostly a vanity CV rather than a professional one.
I don't think she takes ANYTHING seriously. Looking at her recent video, the content she puts out there. She basically says its ok to do a whole bunch of half-arsed things, not be good at any of them and just embrace the boredom. Imagine being an employer and seeing her sitting out in the dark with her candles and then sewing that weird collar thing. Omg.
