when she made her iced coffee..... it was like the opposite of those satisfying asmr short videos where people make beverages. the angle was all wrong, she spilled everything, and why t f did she pour milk first...
She was so rough banging things against the glass and then hurriedly stirring the (fragile) glass straw around the ice cubes. I wouldn't be surprised if her straw shatters in the drink, one day. She's very heavy handed with things.

I would like to note that I don't give a tit about anyone's opinion of the royals/harry/megan/Spare - it's a controversial subject and I feel like it's going to completely derail the conversation, when we really should be focusing on why the duck ruby still hasn't learn to brush her hair without ripping it all out.

Also on the list of things she never learnt: how to light a candle without tunneling it, how to pour liquids without spilling them, and how to be a functioning adult without relying on mummy, daddy, and stolen charity money to get by
I'm wondering if she's justifying her reading of children's books as ' recommendations for students.' I was also wondering who she's teaching as Pipers Corner is 4-18 year olds from I understand, so I'm wondering if she's with the really young children instead of the teenagers as we've been thinking. Though the young ones might only have one teacher who does everything like UK primary schools and Ruby is with the older students. Just had that thought.
I don't get why she just doesn't admit to loving middle grade books.

I laughed out loud when she made a mess with the coffee. I am very clumsy and I often pour things sloppily but I don't share my uncoordinated self with the rest of the world. Jesus.

Also, has anyone noticed that Ruby, despite being a literature student, a self-proclaimed voracious reader and an endlessly curious person, almost never reads authors who aren't British or American? I cannot recall her reading translated works.

She claims to know Spanish. Latin America and Spain have incredibly rich literary traditions and they are contemporary authors doing amazing work. She seems to like fantastical stories, Latin America is the home of magical realism and yet she is never able to reach beyond her British classics and expose her supposed curious mind to something new.

Don't get me wrong. I love British classics. I particularly love American literature. But I also try to read Japanese, Nigerian, Colombian, Argentine authors; I make an effort to get to know the world through narratives. Ruby would benefit tremendously from reading about places and lives that are different from her very cloistered existence.

The weirdest part is that her audience seems completely unbothered by all this.
She learned Spanish to pass a gcse tho, I don’t think she knows it to the point of being able to understand a complex book

thats why I specifically didn't buy glass straws but metal straws.

I haven't watched her video yet. maybe I do that tomorrow. I was busy the last day with looking for jobs and I'm a bit frustrated right now. I really should become a Youtuber and post my morning routine ... Getting out of bed at around nine, brushing my teeth, making my bed, open different windows wide to let fresh air in, breakfast, newspaper. maybe doing something for work. feeling down because I search for jobs and they all want 100 years of experience. feeling bad because I'm in my late 30s and I feel like I don't have enough to show for. and than those youtubers throw it in my face with how easy it all is.

1) she wouldn’t lol, constructive criticism = bullying
2) please for the love of god people DO 👏 NOT 👏 MENTION 👏 TATTLE 👏 to creators, that’s precisely how they then get to claim we’re bullying them - let’s just PLEASE keep the conversation among ourselves
I have noticed that the person who mentioned Tattle to her has since deleted the comment.

Wakes up at 6:30 - dark
Brushes teeth - dark
Does facecare - bright daylight
Continues facecare - dark again
Another cut facecare - light again
Makes bed - dark again
Goes downstairs 6:45 - dark again
Makes tea - magic daylight
Makes “breakfast” - dark again
Day cut - because she didn’t have time.

Ruby has absolutely no sense of continuity at all. If this is what a morning routine looks like just imagine her trying to put together a novel.

Ruby shows us a supposed hour of her reading Spare where in that she barley makes a dent. How are we supposed to believe she reads four million books per year.

I have not watched the video yet, but that's nothing unusual if she does part time. Which I think she said at some point. If you don't teach the first hour of a day, you just leave at like 9, and other days you might be teaching from 8 to 5 or whatever.
Oh fair enough I forget that some schools let you work from home in free periods! Jealous, I don't teach until the afternoon on Mondays but have to be in

I never sell anything online, specially to strangers. I don't want to deal with difficult people. The internet is full of stories from people who try to sell stuff online. I always give stuff that's in perfect condition to charity shops or put a box outside so people can take something. Sometimes I sent books to a platform that gives me money in return. But they don't always need every book I want to give away. Thankfully, there are public book shelves (I really need to drive to one of them to put some books there). I feel much better to give clothes, household items, books or magazines away (to charity or just in a box outside). Why doesn't Ruby do something like that? I could of course make money selling some of my clothes I don't wear anymore. But, as I said, I don't want to deal with people. Getting money would be nice, but it is so much nicer to donate things. If you really need the money, that's different, of course. Rich people never give something away for free. That's why they are rich and stay rich.
As my (wise) husband says " you don't get rich writing cheques" I reckon the Bones family knows this all too well

Her video doesn't flow at all as firstly she shows us her morning routine when she is getting ready for work, then she cuts to her morning routine the next day when she is not getting ready for work and lastly she ends the video with her walking out of the house leaving for work from the day before.

Don't be too hard on yourself, things are really difficult right now, what with the pandemic, inflation, energy crisis, war, the climate crisis and everything else that's going on! Hardly anyone seems to be hiring right now, in fact the place I work for is not renewing people's fixed-term contracts, choosing to kick people out instead. I know it doesn't help you, I've been in that situation of desperately looking for work and getting rejection after rejection, but for what it's worth: I'm sure it's not you, it's the general shittiness of the situation right now *gestures at everything* I'm probably a year or two older than you, so I know what it's like to go back to uni as a mature student. Massive virtual hug to you! 😊

Things that I took away from her recent video.

1. Still cannot strike a match or light a candle properly.
2. Peanut butter looks like watery diarrhea. Lovely.
3. Can't pour things without spilling it all over the place.
4. Spends a ridiculous amount of time explaining why she reads while brushing her teeth. Doesn't matter. We brush our teeth to remove food, bacteria and plaque. She is splashing those things all over her books. That is disgusting. Absolutely revolting.
5. Still doesn't create an appropriate title for her video. Halfway through she is into a non-working morning routine.
6. Doesn't have time to do a routine, so why bother in the first place?
7. Is fascinated with her messy bed and her new stuffed animals. Get a grip, woman.
8. Completely avoids how she gets back and forth to work, which we all know is her Mommy.
9. Acts as though she has the most amazing makeup routine. She hardly wears any. Just two drops spread across her fake freckles.
10. Fake freckle application getting out of hand. Looks more like the measles now.
11. Reads 5 minutes here, 5 minutes there, filming it all, never truly absorbed in a book, because it is all performance. But she LOVES reading.
12. Is fascinated with dead plants. Still.
13. Throws in some time with her dog, very half-heartedly. You hear it in her voice and by the way her dog always walks away from her.
14. Now she needs to research something every day. What happened to reading some Philosophy every morning? Oh, yeah, more performance.
15. Entire video seems random, choppy, lackluster and incredibly phony. Isn't it time to just grow up and get an actual life, Rubes?

It's only easy for YouTubers because most of them are wealthy enough from daddy's money and/or endless sponsorships to not have to slave away in a boring job like everyone else. As others have said, the market - and the world - is rit at the moment, and it can be really tough and depressing trying to move forward when you don't seem to have the connections and experience jobs need. I'm the same, feels like I ended up deep in student debt and stress for nothing as most jobs don't care that I've graduated with good grades! The difference between you and most studytubers is that you're actually *trying*, and don't have a cushy support system to fall back on. These guys have all the time and money in the world and yet they choose to have boring, repetitive lives... the rest of us don't really have a choice.

To echo what's been said before...I am still baffled why she would read whilst brushing her teeth.

Also her hair needs a cut. It looks dreadful. Just needs a good trim!!!!!!!!!

I've been saying for years she needs a good cut! Part of her little schoolgirl image is the waist long one-length hair though..

Unfortunately this world revolves around a case of who you know not what you know. I hope at the very least Ruby isn’t filling those children’s heads up with dumb expectations of what it means to be a good student, especially seeing as they probably have more pressure of them given there parents have paid for them to be educated and expect them to have high grades.

She really has no taste. I checked out her Pumpkin Productivity website and she has the most disgusting nails including splintery nail polish in the video where she presents a product. How ...
