huge fan of the way she annotates by literally just repeating what the original sentence saidView attachment 1884802
I mean… learning just ‘for the sake of learning’ is all well and good when mummy and daddy will allow you to indefinitely live rent free in their mansion, some of us are quite literally just at university so that we can get a job and pay our bills. That’s how life works in the real world.
Spoilers: She didn't read it, so she likely has no idea that any of things are part of the book. She's picked isolated sections to read from a book she pretended to finish and doesn't know their context. She doesn't possess the rawness needed to LARP as Cathy. She recites the lines so bleeping politely. Where is the darkness? The despair? The pain? The simultaneous love and hatred?
The waggling eyebrows and gurning facial expressions...ugh and the chuckling. Lol I bet she does actually just Sparknotes all the classics. There is no way in hell she actually read Wuthering Heights. She reads everything with the same OIY'M AMMA WATSON, OIY AM mangled accent, in the exact same tone, with the exact same pensive cadence and faux-wistful intonations. Always fake-smiling her way through it, chuckling slightly as she approaches the end of every sentence and shaking her head and waggling her eyebrows like she's remembering her time with Heathcliff and Cathy because oh, what a characters they are according to Sparknotes! You can actually hear her doing a fake smile/wistful chuckle at the end of every sentence.
But if she thinks it's A VARRY SERIOUS part, there will be no smiling, only deathly HOW DAHHR YOO glares. But her overall tone stays the same.
And, of course, it's all just a MISPA TEENA ad.
Oh god no. Please not Anna Karenina. Not Great Expectations either. Lol @ your Les Mis review à la RoobIt's only a matter of time before she ruins every book you've ever loved. Nothing is safe. One cannot sleep soundly at night knowing Ruby is out there, reading the Wikipedia summary of Moby fool, or Googling "Anna Karenina spark notes", or God forbid reading a children's picture book adaption of Hamlet. She could be pretending to read Pride and Prejudice as we speak. She might LARP as Miss Havisham tomorrow and Dorian Gray the next day. Don't let your guard down. Not even the Bible is safe from this ruthless monster.
Right this moment she may be writing a 1 star Goodreads review for Les Misérables because there weren't as many miserable lesbians as the title suggests, and because the naughty thief man should be an antagonist rather than a protagonist- but overall it was a wonderful novel about World War II. Her Cosette cosplay with of course include a beret.
So she/the team haven't learned / changed from the last experience where there were massive delays? Then they are rum. I feel sorry for the customers who on the whole are likely to be teens who have spent their pocket money on this shocking excuse for a plannerThats actually terrible. Customers who paid full price haven't even received it yet. And then it goes on sale at 30% off. Talk about Monday blues

Wutherless Heights”The heights did not wuther as much as I had expected. 2 stars.”

She heard what I said and she’s now “reading” The Brothers KaramazovI just unfollowed her on Goodreads. She’s read 7 books in 2 weeks and I’m fed up with her cluttering up my homepage with her kiddie books. I want to follow people who’ll give proper recommendations of things I might enjoy.
lol she was first spotted pretending to read it about a year ago, she'll abandon it quickly enough once she realises there's very little scope for cosplay/a sneaky Mispah Teena ad opportunity.Oh no, my greatest fears have come true! She's reading The Brothers Karamazov on her latest Instagram story...
I don't know if I should be excited about the upcoming hilarious Goodreads review or dread the inevitable massacre one of my favourite books will suffer...

I studied something I loathed and it was a pain to look for a job at the same time, so when I look back I say I could have at least studied something I actually cared about and wanted to make the effort for.In my experience when you're 18 and choosing what to do with your life, way too many people tell you to "follow your dreams! If you have a passion go for it! Don't choose something you don't like just because you think it'll be easier to find a job!"
And the result is that now that my uni education path is almost over and I'm starting to look at career opportunities, not a day goes by that I don't tell myself whyyy didn't you choose a more expendable degree. Why did you listen to those people. And my degree isn't even actually "that bad" when it comes to jobseeking, but it's not a law or engineering degree either. And now that I'm older and I look back I see that I could have succeeded in one of those more "career-oriented" degrees too, even if they weren't exactly my absolute favourite thing, and I ask myself what the hell I was thinking.
So imo it's the opposite, I think that way too many young people go to uni with this mindset (that you shouldn't choose based on job opportunities but rather your interests) and end up disappointed years later when they are looking for a job.
(I hope no one interprets this comment as dismissive of humanities degrees or like I'm saying that they're not worth it. I'm saying that rather than young people choosing based on career options, I see a lot of young people choosing based on passions and interests and then being let down by society when it seems like there's no place for them in the workforce)
She has applied to do her Master's at Oxford and from what I have seen this is the only University that she has applied to.sorry if I missed it, but anyone know where she's applying for Master's?
