Wasn’t she to move into the house she bought after she graduated uni? Maybe she’ll move out after the masters? I know most people her age are dying to get out the family home (even if you have a fantastic relationship with them) it’s natural behaviour to want to be independent. She has the finances to move out on her own so the only thing stopping her is her obvious crippling anxiety about being alone/self-sufficient. I guess if she moves out then she can no longer have her childhood fantasies.

Nah she for real is trolling. The way she stabbed at the glass and ice with her glass straw was ridiculously aggressive and someone mentioned that just a few days ago…

This girl has legit never had a job in her life before, let alone had to deal with teenagers in a school.
You just know she’ll go in there expecting them to just sit quietly, looking up at her adoringly and lapping up every word she says, and when that isn’t the case, she’ll just give up and quit lol.
I give her a week!

Really, she should get her license. If she can't fathom being able to handle city and highway driving, fine, but she should at least be able to navigate the country roads in her own neighborhood. How stressful could that be? I can't imagine living in the boonies without being able to drive. That's not just inconvenient, it's dangerous. Is she just going to rely on her mother to ferry her around forever? If she did nothing else with this "gap year" she should've at least done that---it might even have boosted her confidence and made her willing to branch out a little.
Exactly, and it’s not like she’d have trouble affording insurance/lessons/a car either so I don’t get why she hasn’t bothered to learn. You can’t live in the sticks at that age and be still relying on your parents to take you to work every morning.

Wake up, wake up, Ruby's just dropped a new reel aaaaaand it's her morning routine! Do you expect anything new or original? No, if you watched her morning routine video, it's the same! Same clips, same BS talk and same pretentiousness. Here we have no idea what she does later in the day, I think it's cut quite nicely though? I mean the video was too long for the content she gave us, so for a reel, it's almost perfect.

According to her Goodreads, she's in half of Brothers Karamazov. I'm surprised she doesn't read faster though. But even if anyone called her out on it, she'd be like: sLOw ReaDinG, AnaLySis! But she's also read another children's book 🤷🏽‍♀️ I really want to hear her talk about it. In Depth.

How are you liking War and Peace? Would you be willing to talk about it with me? It's a book that changed me and my life (along with The Deamons by Dostoyevsky), but I also realize how problematic Tolstoy was and I don't want to explain it all here...

Concerning myself, I read a lot of Turgenev in January, Foucault's Civilization and Madness and Orientalism by Edward Said. Yes and Lovers by Jelinek. (Hopefully Ruby doesn't read this thread as by now she's be able to tell who I am).
I’m really, really loving W&P. I’m taking it kind of slow and making notes, there’s just so MUCH there. It’s relevant on so many levels (the early descriptions of Russian war propaganda/strategy were honestly sending me, it’s like nothing’s changed in 220 years) and Tolstoy just goes so ruthlessly, painfully close to real, raw human thinking and emotion. I feel like you could probably find some aspect or likeness of every single person you’ve ever known in this book - to me, right now at least (halfway through vol. 2), it’s the sheer scope of human experience that’s just so astounding. It took a little while to find my bearings, but now that I feel I have a grip on all the main characters, I’m super invested. Also I want to say I’m fully prepared to have my heart broken, but I also feel like it’s going to come out of nowhere and hit me hard when that eventually happens.

And to make this even a little relevant to a Roobee thread, I feel the need to state I did, in fact, first plod through the words on the pages of this book at age TWALVE, but I will not claim that I understood any of it 😂

off topic rant about arrested development but…
I feel genuinely guilty for her in a way? It’s probably me projecting but untreated mental illness can be such a hinder to deal with. It’s not only with the person but to their family / audience as well. It’s getting to the point that I sometimes feel like me even looking at her videos is ‘encouraging her’ to keep this shit up.
I get reminded a lot of myself as I am about to graduate college next year and I’m crossing my fingers my autistic ass won’t end up like her. I was super terminally online during my high school days and as Ruby gets older and older it seems like she just regresses even more ): She’s really getting worse and it’s honestly feeling like we’re watching a train crash in slow motion.

This is so hard for me to understand because her study videos are so uninspired. How could anyone feel shit about themselves after watching Ruby just time-lapse scribbling in her notebooks? There's nothing there! I know I'm not the audience for study content, and I know that kids are impressionable and often lack discernment skills about things they see on social media but still...I don't get it. I mean, I don't feel shit about myself when I watch Ruby's current, non-study content. In fact, I feel pretty good, because at least my house is cleaner.
The time lapses and the sheer amount of hours she "studied" made it seem like she did a whole lot more than what she actually did, which we know was just copying notes to multiple places. All busywork, but if you're not looking all that closely it's easy to get the impression especially as a teenager that she's very productive. But in actuality if you're studying for that many hours, something is really wrong because you're probably not absorbing the material.

The joys of working remotely is watching this cringe during my lunch break oh boy. She's trying so hard to be philosophical and whimsical and it's so jarring. She says um and uh a lot and you'd think for someone who constantly wants to be the centre of attention during seminars and talks she'd have a bit more poise when handling public speaking. But the audio goes funny 28 mins in and it's so uncomfortable to watch so couldn't keep listening to Ruby oops I just don't understand why she is there if we want to talk about Gen Z turning to tiktok and being snowflakes we'd want someone who doesn't come from a privileged bubble. It's more relatable when someone like me on tiktok shares a relatable mental health story compared to the girl living in a mansion who managed to get private therapy at the height of the pandemic thanks to mummy and daddy's riches.

Also, I'm sorry, but can you please not bring pedophilia into this discussion? It's quite a leap to suggest that an odd, spoiled child will become a pedophile as an adult. That's a bit over the top.
I also thought it was problematic to lump them in with drug addicts & alcoholics.

Ruby clearly has issues she needs to address, but first she has to get rid of the know-it-all attitude. It might sound harsh, but I really think this is her #1 barrier to seeking help. She never accepts that she's made a mistake, always tries to present herself as an expert, expects success to come instantly, becomes stroppy when challenged. These are not helpful traits when going into therapy. Therapy can feel confrontational sometimes because you're forced to look at bad coping mechanisms, flawed thinking and so on. I don't think Ruby would respond well to someone viewing her as less than perfect.

Is she... is she sitting outside, in the dark, in candlelight? 😐

This is crazy. Her new job is easily the most interesting thing she's done all year. Yet she chooses to not talk about it at all, why?? Is it possible she actually didn't get the job? Or it's completely different from what she expected and she's disappointed?
My guess is she doesn't like being treated as an adult and might be utterly failing at it.

I think Ruby is so assured of her superiority (Erimentha's character was arrogant to the point of obnoxious), she has probably self-soothed with the idea that we're all neanderthals who party and drink too much ethanol.
Also going back to her linkedin, I noticed she included the fact that she write the Erimentha book on there 💀💀💀

It is kinda weird that there are other people listed as "Assistants" while Ruby is only listed as "English" like she's a regular teacher.
That's what I thought as well! And isn't she only part time? Bit odd they have her under academic staff instead of assistant or something especially since she's part time with no relevant experience but who knows what her actual job title is.

I'm waiting for her to update her LinkedIn 👀

I suppose you could add it, if you wrote it in such a way that it highlighted the transferable skills you gained while being in that role. I don't know, things like organising events, managing teams, getting funding, that sort of thing. But just writing it down like that makes it sound really childish and like she's desperately trying to pad out her CV.
Her entire CV needs to be cleaned up. I am currently job hunting and they only want recent (relevant) work experience. Most even advise against putting down all your coursework. It still baffles me that she hasn't gotten rid of "head girl" or all the things she did so long ago. I was salutatorian at my high school and I stopped putting that down on my resume once I got into college. And again, does anyone have any idea why it says she graduated in 2023 instead of 2022? She also hasn't added her current job title. She was able to keep anonymity by not sharing the name of her school, so she could easily do that by only adding her current job title instead of student.
