I'll never understand Ruby's weather-related decisions. The advice is to keep windows closed during the daytime, but even if you want them open there's no sane reason to keep your curtains/blinds open too. Oh yeah, I remember her saying she was "embarrassed" by her book, which was an obvious lie. She imagines that she's a brilliant writer who now considers her "early period" a bit immature but still expects to be praised for it. She never learned what was wrong with that book.
