After getting roasted for wearing sweaters and thick tights in the a heatwave, Ruby's already embarrassing herself even more by jumping on the "ACKSHUALLY..." denial and protest train.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO BLATANTLY LIE ABOUT tit LIKE THIS. Just say "Yup, as you could probably tell, I wore that jumper just to colour-coordinate for a planner ad. I took it off right away and changed into sensible clothes". You'd look less like a colossal idiot and compulsive liar.

some pay a lot of money for a planner, think of Hobonichi or Filofax. But those are established brands and not something a random influencer created (or makes us believe she has created).
Yeah, we all have a different size wallet… mine is Hobonichi-sized, but I wouldn’t fork out that kind of cash for Roobee’s wirebound nightmare of repetitious self-indulgence.

I'm looking for a new calendar ... mine is like an academic one and ends soon (September is the last month in this one), so I need a new non-academic one for the next year and something for the last three months.

Somehow critical thinking and calling someone out for non acceptable behavior always gets twisted into being jealous.
Why would I be jealous of Ruby? (apart from being ultra rich apparently but even then I prefer my own life so much more that not even money could temp me to live Ruby’s life).

I first came to tattle because I thought Ruby promoted some unhealthy habits and was curious if anyone else thought the same. I was shocked when I saw all the detective work you guys do to expose every aspect of how she's a fraud, from debunking her "productive" day-in-the-life videos to analyzing her ED behaviors. Most viewers aren't watching the color of her nail polish or zooming in on her laptop screen, so while they know she's generally privileged and a bit out of touch, they don't realize the extent of her lies and just how bizarre her behavior is.
Ruby knows she has thousands of people watching her videos. She knows we know she fakes her videos and academic persona. And still she chooses to post ED bait and sell a false image of herself, knowing that most viewers will not be sleuths. When you put stuff on the internet, you agree that other people will watch it and have their own opinions on it. She has earned every critical comment she's gotten.
I don't understand influencers who accuse others of being jealous. Isn't the point of influencing for people to be jealous of you so they buy your lotion or workout plan or academic planner? It's an inherently narcissistic career, even if the subject matter is studying. When you make advice videos you're basically saying "I am the best at school, I am the person you should be taking advice from".

the two things I envy her is: 1. she published a book (let's not talk about how bad or good it is). I never ever finished anything worth publishing, even before the possibility of self publishing came along. And I also lack the confidence, I guess, to put something out there for people to buy and read.
2. speaking of confidence: I think you have to be very confident if you put videos of yourself on the Internet, especially videos in which you show your life, how you study, etc. At times I wish I could do something similiar, at least making videos, talking to the camera, telling people what I'm doing or how my book is coming along.

I wouldn't want to show my house and family members. Recording every part of your life seems also so stressful.i don’t envy Roobee - well, there are many reasons why I don’t, but above all this - she’s painted herself into a corner with her content. She’s pretended so long, she can’t show what she’s really like, and it’s probably hindering her chances to explore what she really wants to do, who she wants to become. Imagine having to be her. It must be stressful. Lying all the time, not to mention the endless busywork and not allowing herself to enjoy anything that’s not consistent with the image she wants to project. Deciding to like coffee was the boldest move she’s made in that direction.

I don't know what it's like with other youtubers, if this filming yourself has an impact on all of them and on the way they act in front of a camera. I mean, I guess you have to play a certain role if you make videos. At least I think so. Not all content creators will act extremely different, but in some or most cases maybe?
