Ah i see. Just watching the live stream of the ceremony seemed rather awkward. Idk that's just my opinion compared to my graduation.
lol I meant to come on here yesterday after I graduated to say about this, but I totally forgot and then I worked all day today (as is normal, for graduates, Ruby.)
I meant to say that I bet she'll be disappointed. No handshakes etc., just walking across the stage. No being handed your degree on stage and no moment where they read out firsts etc. No special mentions for anyone (apart from the honorary graduate), it's really underwhelming and if I hadn't done it before I would have been so sad. I bet part of her would have been gutted - apart from your ten seconds going across the stage (which is nothing, really), you're quite anonymous in what goes on. Probably 15 seconds chatting with the person who gives you your robe, a whole ceremony photo and that's it. Nobody outside of your family cares. That must have stung for her
You keep saying this, and I wanted to have a look through your video summaries to try and countenance it, but you've limited who can see your posts. Which videos of hers show this? Because it's quite the accusation (and no proof is collected on the wiki.) I've not the time nor the inclination to parse through all 26000 posts on Ruby to try and find them.
ETA: once we have a starting point of evidence, it could be worth adding it to the wiki.

what fascinated me while I was watching the livestream was the fact that all of these people who are graduating with ruby are going on to jobs and real lives--what does ruby say when people ask her what her plans are? she must be aware of what other people are doing. does she feel bad? I think this goes back to the point someone made about her being locked into a character for youtube money. it's such a self-inflicted truman show situation. When is she going to wake up?

There isn't really any proof to be honest. If she was plagiarising her work, it would have been picked up by her tutors
All of Ruby's recycled vlogs blend together at this point, so I don't recall which exact ones off the top of my head feature it all, but Ruby has revealed the following in her videos:
- Ruby "coincidentally" chose all the exact same modules as Blakeney. Every single one, every single time. Nobody would bat an eye if two close friends picked the same modules, but her awkward denial that it was JANUINELY conincidental had "Ruby doth protest too much" energy all over it.
- Ruby talked Blakeney into linking her Notion with Ruby's so that she would have free and easy access to all of Blakeney's academic notes and whatever work she kept on there.
- Ruby kept scheduling "debrief" sessions with Blakeney both before and after seminars and lectures for some reason, along with a suspicious amount of "study chats" with her. Given that Ruby's mind is a barren wasteland which has never produced an original thought, this blatantly looks like Ruby not doing the reading and picking Blakeney's brain for ideas or things to say.
- Ruby talked Blakeney into "sharing" the critical reading workload. Her bizarre plan meant they would each split the assigned critical reading and read half each (I think she said two essays each), summarise and then swap notes to avoid doing half the work. Ruby's notes appeared completely useless and nonsensical, so undoubtedly Blakeney wasn't benefitting from this arrangement and still had to do the full reading while Ruby got another significant shortcut.
It gives the overwhelming indication that Ruby did everything she could to shortcut her way through, rely heavily on Blakeney's notes, ideas and suggestions while avoiding doing a huge amount of the required reading herself. And it totally looks like she picked all the same modules as Blakeney so that she'd be able to rely on those shortcuts for her whole degree, because anyone else would've told Ruby where to shove her Notion.

That's one of the videos in which Ruby keeps mentioning that she schedules excessive amounts of random study discussion meetings with Blakeney so that she could "feed back" on the reading and be "ready for" the seminars/lectures.

The only thing you need to do to be prepared for a seminar is do the reading yourself and have a functioning brain, and Ruby's 0 for 2. Considering Exeter grades students on seminar participation, this looks especially dodgy.

I don't think they meant Blakeney literally wrote Ruby's papers for her in some blatant agreement, or that Ruby just copy-pasted Blakeney's writing. Ruby seems plenty capable of banging out loads of words herself (as evidenced by her constantly showing of her excessive word counts). It's more so that she seems incapable of critical thinking or coming up with original thoughts on her own. We see this now as she's constantly trying to source information from her fans to write her book. She's good at taking other people's thoughts and conclusions and rewording it enough that it wouldn't be noticed as plaigerism. I imagine a lot of the papers written in these modules contain similar ideas, especially when doing critical writing about a book. University student papers and meant for the student to learn, not that they're expected to deliver some ground-breaking revelation (much as Ruby would love this). I'm not sure tutors are going to find anything suspicious in two students having similar ideas that are probably fairly common year after year.
It's not strange that they would choose to do the same modules the first year, but surely by the third year they would have at least slightly different interests. I think it's telling as well that Ruby very rarely seems to study with anyone besides Blakeney, and doesn't have anything like this set up between other students. I think she knows most people would quickly realize this setup is not as reciprocal as Ruby makes it out to be. Blakeney may have realized this too and either been in denial about it or didn't want to upset the peace with her roommate.
Sounds almost like the new head girl is throwing shade at Ruby!

Tellingly, she explains that this serendipitous bit of happenstance was very fortunate because it means she can exchange ideas (since Ruby never has any of those, that sounds like a one-sided deal). But that DAFFINITELY wasn't the reason Ruby chose all the same modules as Blakeney, JANUINELY. Ruby says that discussing the seminar questions with Blakeney is when she really started to understand the material because no tit, she'd never read a word of the material until Blakeney explaining what it was about.
She clearly did none of the reading and dragged Blakeney into all these weird, suspiciously frequent pre-seminar meetings to milk her for ideas so she could wave her hand in the seminar and parrot it all for credit, then shove it in her essays.

The graduation stream really emphasizes that Ruby isn't unique and shouldn't be seen as an academic guru. Hundreds of people graduated from Exeter this year with the same class of degree as her. Her "15-hour study days", depriving herself of a social life, and doing unnecessary work throughout school and university didn't put her ahead. She's not the best academically, she's not the most efficient, she's just the only one who decided to make a timelapse of herself studying.
Seriously I don't know in what world she could think studying 15 hours a day is efficient. If you need to study this much you haven't find your way.
Something I used to do a lot (I'm trying to do better at it now that I even noticed it's something I do) is doing like, everything that a teacher will ask to do for side work and homeworks and readings and all that. They would freakin recommand a 6 hours long mini serie on the minutes before WW1 and I would watch it, even knowing that it would not really help me with the class. Which, I understood with time, no one does. I've heard other autistic people say it took them time to understand it as well. I used to do aaaaaall the math exercices even if I understood how to do the kind of problem. Do aaaaall the readings. I think Ruby does the same. She's so used to things being in a logical order that will lead to logical consequences that she can't conceptualize getting good grades if she misses five minutes of a lecture or one additional reading or something like that. It's very, very time consuming. The notes she takes are not efficient at all, if she needs to take a lot of notes to better understand what she reads she has to find a better way because the way she does it in her videos is very slow it's almost painful to watch.
Sometimes it's weird things. I have to print most of my readings because computer reading simply doesn't do it for me. And to do physical handwritten flashcards with new vocabulary (I'm in modern languages), which takes ages but works for me so it's worth it.

I know she made a Tiktok saying "POV: you finished your degree but you still read JTSOR papers" which like, besides the obvious cringe, everyone in the comments was saying stuff like "I didn't even read JTSOR papers I put in references in my papers lmao".

Yes, I dislike Ruby. As much as the next guy on this thread. But you all seem to think that Exeter has no checks in place. You CANNOT survive without doing the reading, or prep. You can have all the access to other people's notes in the world (my friends and I frequently shared notes, extra reading, and viewpoints), but if you've not done the work and got the understanding, you WILL fail. I had to borrow other people's notes for an assessment (due to my nan passing away) and I got a 48. The one I did with my own reading? A 68. There is a difference between sharing ideas (which, by the way, is the entire point of university.) and relying on someone else to do all your work. Ruby would not have got a first without doing her own work. Love her or dislike her, she had to work independently, and produce work of a good quality, to get that grade. The markers at Exeter are harsh.
Getting other people's input on modules you perhaps struggle with is not a crime. I am sure that, if Ruby really was relying on Blakeney, she would not have got the grades she did, nor would she have progressed past first year. It is drilled into everyone, in your first week, that academic misconduct is serious, and will result in you failing assessments and possibly even being kicked out. Ruby clearly did not engage in this. The essay long posts that you produce will not change that. Saying things like that just devalue this thread. It takes all of our valid points (about her body checking/eating disorder, her toxic productivity, her privilege, etc etc.) and gives her something to focus on to make sure she can ignore any of the points raised here. Like it or not, she earned a first class from a top university. Whether or not you believe that was "easy", she did it. And now what matters is how she puts it to use. Saying she didn't do the work just gives her a reason to turn a blind eye to everything said on here.
Completely agree. You can speculate on the originality of her topics and ideas but it’s just ludicrous to say that she didn’t do any reading for her degree in Exeter from which she got a first and focused the majority of her attention on.
It seems to me you're taking it very personally because you are/were also a student at Exeter.
We're talking about Ruby and it has nothing to do with you, the quality of your work and the amount of effort you put in.
Ruby has shown multiple times that she is incapable of any kind of critical thinking, especially in literature, that she doesn't like reading classics and that even when she does read them her analysis is superficial. She also made sure she and Blakeney shared all of their notes and that they also chose all of the same modules so she'd never have to face an assessment "on her own".
If you share all of your notes with each other, all the time, how can you even tell who came up with each idea? I think it's quite likely that Ruby relied a lot on Blakeney and that had she not had Blakeney her results would probably not have been as good.
I'm not saying she didn't do her own reading, I'm saying without Blakeney she probably would have struggled a lot more.
