It’s really frustrating. She’s doing it so blatantly, too, that she’s clearly looking for attention from someone, but I’m not even sure what she hopes to accomplish by including it in her videos.

Seriously I don't know in what world she could think studying 15 hours a day is efficient. If you need to study this much you haven't find your way.
Something I used to do a lot (I'm trying to do better at it now that I even noticed it's something I do) is doing like, everything that a teacher will ask to do for side work and homeworks and readings and all that. They would freakin recommand a 6 hours long mini serie on the minutes before WW1 and I would watch it, even knowing that it would not really help me with the class. Which, I understood with time, no one does. I've heard other autistic people say it took them time to understand it as well. I used to do aaaaaall the math exercices even if I understood how to do the kind of problem. Do aaaaall the readings. I think Ruby does the same. She's so used to things being in a logical order that will lead to logical consequences that she can't conceptualize getting good grades if she misses five minutes of a lecture or one additional reading or something like that. It's very, very time consuming. The notes she takes are not efficient at all, if she needs to take a lot of notes to better understand what she reads she has to find a better way because the way she does it in her videos is very slow it's almost painful to watch.
Sometimes it's weird things. I have to print most of my readings because computer reading simply doesn't do it for me. And to do physical handwritten flashcards with new vocabulary (I'm in modern languages), which takes ages but works for me so it's worth it.
For real I think that the only thing her 15 hours study session vids show is that she obviously struggles with schoolwork. You should not need to study this much it certainly doesn't prove anything. I know she made a Tiktok saying "POV: you finished your degree but you still read JTSOR papers" which like, besides the obvious cringe, everyone in the comments was saying stuff like "I didn't even read JTSOR papers I put in references in my papers lmao".

Speaking of younger Ruby, I had this pop up in my YouTube recommendations that I can't believe I'd never seen before:
I could only watch 15 minutes before her constant lip-smacking got to be too much, but it's glorious cringe.
She's so snotty and passive-aggressive. Not even 3 minutes in and she's already on the contradiction and denial train.
She essentially starts the video saying: "There has been controversy and criticism over my book. This is because you all misunderstood it. Yes, the cover synopsis says the book is loosely based on my experiences with bullying and yes, it also says that the main character is based on me. But that's not true and so you are all wrong to criticise the book and say the main character is just a lazy copy of me."
She then says with a straight face that she intentionally made Erimentha very naïve and with too positive an opinion of everyone around her.
Ruby, desperate to prove that Erimentha isn't just a self-insert character: "Well, I DID GET BULLIED! And WHEN I GOT BULLIED...I did know that something was going wrong...and so that is definitely a difference between the two of us. But I know that some people might be in denial about that."
Ruby, in her "GETTING BULLIED made me the person I am today" video ten months later: "I've never even admitted properly that I was bullied. When I was younger I convinced myself that it wasn't bullying and it wasn't until years later that I realised that it was bullying."
Well, that all adds up. Nothing to see there.
Her stories about bullying have never added up, but it's always fun when yet another contradiction resurfaces.
And then she goes on to say how much she loves bullying books and these may have "unconsciously" informed Erimentha Parker. But not deliberately! It wasn't conscious or deliberate!
Nobody had even accused her of ripping off other books, she just leapt to her own suspicious defence apropos of nothing. It's like walking into a police station to prove you didn't murder a bunch of people when you weren't even a suspect. Way you out yourself as ripping off a bunch of middle-grade bullying books, Ruby.

The comments are also full of messages like "this is my comfort channel!" or "your voice is so soothing!" even when she's spending the whole video angrily growling things, switching between inaudibly mumbling and LOUDLY YELLING at random, slurping and smacking her lips as she samples tea and now just gargles sentences through a mouthful of liquid. It's enough to activate your fight or flight response or trigger a panic attack, but Ruby's fans apparently like to fall asleep listening to an unhinged Tory grandma-child angrily test the limits of the English language and the upper and lower boundaries of human hearing.I’m beginning the think that Ruby infantilising herself has less to do with her trying to escape adulthood (although that’s a big part of it) but to exempt her from criticism. The amount of comments I see on her YouTube and tiktok that are some variation of “protect this girl at all costs” are telling. Why? Because she acts like she’s twelve and prefers reading to parties? She’s 22 years old ffs, let her take responsibility for her actions like every other creator on the platform. Just because she dresses like a geriatric toddler doesn’t mean she needs to be babied.
I think most of these people have misplaced their brains in the same dusty attic that Ruby has.

Since she has left uni you really realize how boring her life actually is tbh. Before it revolved around studying and being on campus, but once that has been taken away, you can see that she genuinely does fuck all that doesn’t involve her mum ferrying her about or taking her to places like the theatre etc

Everything about that space looks so grimy. I don't know why you'd put it online. Those stars look as if they're ancient and falling apart; the candle is leaning, as usual, and is streaked with...something; the desk looks all marked (it is a school desk after all); and the mug is the worst. It reminds me of the old mugs we used for paintbrush water in art classes.
When it comes to Ruby's writing ambitions, I think she's rushing into things and will regret it later. She's impatient to be a published author right now, but this is causing her to churn out lots of subpar work rather than producing one solid piece of writing. It's common for aspiring authors to start off small: seek to have few articles published in reputable online journals, submit short stories to literary magazines, have couple of poems published in anthologies - that kind of thing. Writing is also a skill, i.e. something that you can improve with effort. This is one reason why writing courses and workshops exist. It's important to get constructive criticism/feedback at the earlier stages.

IMO, it would make a lot more sense to get part-time job or do other activities while setting aside time to write regularly. Some authors can take 10 years between their first draft and their final one! Madeline Miller, for example, took that long to write The Song of Achilles. In fairness, she was working and living her life so it's not as if she didn't have other commitments. But as Ruby claims to be a perfectionist, you'd think she'd want to spend more time making sure her book is of good quality. Instead, she's talking like ''I've finished one book and I'm writing another book and I already have plans for another piece of writing.'' Slow down.

Big fish small pond syndrome, or more to the point normal sized fish returning to a puddle. It's just about reliving her old Matilda/Hermione fantasies and trying to recapture that old glory. Someone said on an earlier thread that Ruby's school, despite being a very expensive private school, isn't in the least bit academic. So even studying two hours a day, let alone her proclaimed average of 11, would have let her appear as the resident child genius.
I guess she needs that psychological comfort after the crushing blow of only getting a low first for her dissertation.
It really angers me how she contributes to the pressure on her viewers and hustle culture, and then thinks a quick disclaimer is enough to absolve herself.

Any biographer would have an absolute field-day with Ruby’s digital footprint. I don’t think she needs to worry about saving a few essays.
Scored 80s in all child related classes huh... guess there's benefits to being stunted after all 
On a more serious note, she should try writing for younger kids first and slowly build her way up to teenagers instead of going for ya right away. I think that would really help improve her writing and it would give her brain a chance to process and redo whatever development stage she skipped over.
