Hi everyone!! I've been reading this forum for a very long time, and I bleeping love it. I'm obsessed with your comments guys. Please never stop writing them, they are so hilarious! People here are really good with words (much better than Rooby!), and the criticism this dumbass gets is well deserved and reasonable.

Today she posted this video on instagram with a revelation about public libraries. Thank you, guru!! You are the only person in the world who never uses them, because you can afford buying tons of new books that you will never manage to read, because having a huge personal library is part of your identity. What makes me angry is that she can't just say: "hey libraries are cool because you can get free books there", NO, she absolutely has to act like a bleeping lunatic, with this weirdly crooked hand (this is her special gesture when she is especially pretentious) and rolled eyes and being over-dramatic about libraries, like they "syo syo incredible". Ruby, just shut up! Just go to a library, stop preaching your bull and read at least one grown-up book.
Just look at her face, she really believes she's saying something wise and special.

Me thinks Ruby should spend more time researching gov funding into libraries etc before heading straight to her Instagram to preach at her followers for not using them 👀 Marcus Rashford she is not
Yeah, what a clown.

I said it last time she went off ranting about how we all need to appreciate libraries and the important service they provide, but if she loves libraries so much, maybe she should actually do something worthwhile. Instead, she's preaching from her podium of privilege while she and her tax-dodging Tory family undoubtedly vote for a government who reduce funding to public libraries over and over.

She never actually does anything for her library. She never volunteers her time. Never donates any of the books she never reads. She just borrows books she won't read to horde on her shelf, depriving others of the opportunity to borrow them, treats the books she touches like tit, then makes comments about how small the selection at her local library is, like last time.

She could buy a selection of new release books every month and donate then. She could pledge her time. She could use her platform to organise a fundraiser, or raise awareness for the dire lack of funding for local libraries. She could highlight which party to vote for in upcoming local elections to increase public funding for local libraries. Instead, nah. This twirling Tory does absofuckinglutely nothing with her mountain of money and wide open schedule of free time, then preaches to us that we should do more.

Frolick into the sea, Ruby.

Ah yes, that's exactly why you should rest and take time off: It's so that you can COME BACK MORE PRODUCTIVE AND FOCUSED! Because remember, you have no intrinsic worth as a human being but rather, your worth is measured in how PRODUCKTIVE and FOCUSED you are while WORKING VERY HARD because that is your sole purpose in life. This is a totally healthy way to think about yourself and your own needs and is not at all influenced by toxic cultural norms!

And by the way, the results of all this PRODUCTIVE AND FOCUSED work absolutely need to be quantifiable (number of hours spent studying, number of pages written) and it is important that you also, simultaneously, love and enjoy every single second of your producktive worrking and studying! Because you always have to be a good student! Because you have no right to develop anything resembling a normal, three-dimensional personality or to live a full human life because PRODUCTIVITY always comes first. THAT IS YOUR IDENTITY. :)

Also, don't forget that if you feel like you're not being productive enough, the main thing to remember is that you're simply not prioritising things properly! You simply aren't making time for the things you want to do! You're making an active choice to do things like go to work, do your own studying instead of copying your roommate's work, support your family, take an active role in your community, and so on. You could be conscious and deliberate and decide not to do any of those things, like Ruby does. Your life goals clearly aren't as important to you as Ruby's are to her!

But don't beat yourself up; it's not fair to compare yourself to Ruby when she does more than you do - not everyone can be as ACKS-SAP-SHANUL as Ruby and that has nothing to do with her fabricating 95% of her daily accomplishments and lying her ass off about everything she does.

I'd have a sliver of respect for Ruby if she just said "Don't be jealous of me, I just make up most of my daily activities to fill a video with something impressive. It's all for show. It's nothing but lies and embellishments." Instead she doubles down on lies with this humble-braggary.

And "you constantly post, take care of both your mental and physical health and manage to balance the business side of things as well".

Ruby is a physical and mental dumpster fire, her content is the most increasingly sporadic, low-effort recycled garbage, and her involvement in "the business side of things" is almost zero. Nobody should be holding her up as something to aspire to.

I agree that libraries are great resources Roobster!! But I’m not wilfully avoiding my local library because Im too stupid to see what “AcsHuLlY aHmAyyZiNg” resources they are, but because it was shut down due to underfunding 😃!!!
I feel like she included this bit because she wanted to show how inclusive she was and how everyone should have access to these resources but seems to forget that in less privileged areas funding is going elsewhere. Even before the library shut down it wasn’t the Oxbridge grade library she probably has in her head, it was a small weird cinder block building with one ancient computer and a very small selection of books. It’s also weird that she’s waxing lyrical about libraries when she exclusively studies in coffee shops and buys all the books she wants anyway?? She has never *had* to borrow books because she can afford them.

During my bachelor's I always lived home between two semesters (2-3 months) and I enjoyed having so much free time. It was so nice doing all the creative stuff and enjoy nature and having a good time with little responsibilities. I finished my master's recently but I had a part time job during my studies and I will convert to a full timer in july. Now I have to maintain our apartment, cook, etc. And sometimes I get home tired and I don't really have the motivation to do something outside the basic things that keep me alive 😅
So please Ruby, shut the f up with your privileged life 🤯 I always found this so frustrating, seeing these people get free stuff and a lot of free opportunities with no effort. And here we are working 9-5 because life is not for free and people are aspiring these influencers... 🙈

I am annoyed she is still selling planners and has the audacity to charge 18 quid for them, though I suppose they could have been “TWANTY POUNDS” so we should consider ourselves VARY VARY lucky.

Perhaps someone has posted her reel, but I’m kinda curious because didn’t she LOVE her LG Gram laptop and made a video about it? 🤔

I wonder what happened to her typewriter 🙄

Obviously not judging her for getting a computer over using her typewriter as her main device, just another example of how Ruby will buy or be gifted something quite expensive and and be completely blind to that privilege so doesn’t think twice about discarding said expensive thing as if it’s a toy

Yep. However, I hope she no longer hunches over like she did with her laptop. A desktop will hopefully help her to sit properly.

Taking bets on how long it takes for her to cover that in dirt, grease, grime and fingerprints.

Just tried to watch her last video and I struggled finish it without sleeping, it was so soporific ! I really regret the cringy Hermione A level time, at least it remembered myself at 12 yo. The write with me/writing vlogs were predicted months ago and it wasn't actually a surprise. Nor that her favorite character in her own writings is the one who quotes constantly... Self insert , hello !Btw, of course doing researches can be important Ruby, but shouldn't you do that a bit earlier ?
Anyways I really miss school/student Ruby ( at least until she changed courses at uni ), she was ridiculous but she looked to at least a tiny bit enjoying what she was doing. Now she looks like a ghost of what she was before, trying to adapt her current situation to what she was before and it doesn't work at all. The tea dress was the only good point, it was definitely something my mom would wear but it didn't look bad on her.
Oh and that book title... So on point !

[ EDIT : the planner is a disappointment... For someone who constantly speak about autumn, autumnal colors & cie... Why not working on a more autumnal design for her planner ? Like something in darker colors for example ? It could also be something dark academia inspired, I'm pretty sure lot of people would actually love that ]

She could've also just bought an external screen for her MacBook (or her brand new, never-used LG Gram) for a couple hundred quid. For her uses (word processing, web browsing, the barest minimum of shoddy editing) she doesn't need an entire new computer that costs £1,000-2000. Rapacious Rubert strikes again!

She probably broke her MacBook and needed a new computer. Judging by her cleanliness I think Ruby is pretty careless when handling her devices

I wonder what the filter is. One that makes your forehead look massive and casts a sickly hue all over your face?

THIS. Seeing this makes me irrationally angry. Not because she (or anyone, really) doesn’t deserve well-functioning technology, but because she is so damn and undeservedly rich that she can just throw money out the window for NOTHING. Probably to write her book on. I can’t with her. I can hardly imagine anyone with so little sensitivity and, I don’t know, at least a kind of humility.

Why is it that in the few excerpts from her novel she's shown so far, there's always someone picking at their nails, or their cuticules, or the irritated skin on their hands? It makes me so uncomfortable. Is she obsessed with this?
I think the character is supposed to have OCD

I think the character is supposed to have OCD
Looking at the passages she's shown up to now, she's written most of the school's students as having OCD.

One of the bully characters has been picking her hands to bits (to the point where Lottie can somehow see them throbbing from across the room, with her X-ray eyes that can also see through desks and can see behind her without turning her head). Lottie's been picking her hands apart and compulsively washing them. Unless this is a really bad twist where they're the same person, I'm not sure why she's giving the entire student population OCD traits.

It just makes it especially glaring that she stole everything she knows about OCD from 'Am I Normal Yet?' - a book she likely only skimmed through - and then shoved it in her own book without thought, care or research, or any consideration to how a book works. To her, OCD traits are just a simplistic symptom of perfectionism and nervousness/social anxiety and she seems to have no understanding beyond that.

Oh but you forget that she absolutely needs an iMac because the larger screen is "perfect for editing"- after all, she is a WRITER who is currently editing her debut novel and that IS HER IDENTITY! Surely you can't expect her, as a WRITER, to do her editing on a run-of-the-mill laptop like us peasants - she clearly needs a larger screen because how else is she going to do all the edits on her sixth (or are we already on the seventh?) draft. It's an investment in her future as a bestselling WRITER, clearly.
