They're going on that Italy trip she mentioned wanting to go on AVVER SINCE SHE RAD CWALL ME BOIY YORE NAME IN TWANTY TWANTY.

View attachment 1322624

Ruby's dead-weighting her carry-on with a book she hasn't read before and won't read now or later, but she wants to be photographed holding the only book she knows is set in Italy while she's in Italy.

And if you for some reason believe that she did read it, it says a lot that Ruby can't just enjoy a holiday in Italy and experience it for herself without reading about Italy while she does it.

It shouldn't be surprising that even a luxurious holiday is just another superficial performance for her, but here we are. What a pathetic existence.
I did feel a disturbance in the force in the last few days. Must have coincided with Ruby entering the Italian airspace

So many great books set in Italy or written by Italian authors, and she chooses to re-read the only one she's (allegedly) already read

i was going to mention elena ferrante, surely her books would be much more up rubys street than call me by your name
Only the first two My Brilliant Friend books, in the other two the protagonists are no longer children so Ruby would never read them

RE Ruby’s fave villains and maybe I am being nit picky now but for a girl who’s so self confessed as a supporter of Holocaust memorial and subsequent treatment of modern Jewish people today , you would think she knows The witches and Ronald Dahl as a whole are extremely linked to anti semitic views and the Witches are in fact stereotyping “The J*w” outcast…older woman, big nose, grotesque feature, attacks children … I am not Jewish but saw this on my Twitter timeline when people were discussing Israel/Palestine. Idk. Just irked me! Edit; I looked it up, he wrote openly about his views and further scrutiny for the witches was the whole wider plot that these witches are all rich and influential in their community and come to meet together in secret to ‘plot’. Okay off my soap box now!

Did she ever say what kind of book she's writing? Is it for kids or teens or grandmas or what?

It's a YA mystery about a self-insert Ruby clone whose life falls apart when Blakeney stops returning her calls a random friend/fellow student goes missing.

There was a glimpse of some of her bad writing for it here:

You'd expect Ruby to have written about a university-aged student while at university, but she's just writing a book about Ruby, aged 14-15.

Ruby has mostly avoided YA contemporary books (not that she reads many other books) and spoken about them with general disdain, admitting that she just skips through them to get to the passages about eating disorders or people being bullied for being smart, so it's blatantly obvious that she's just trying to write what sells and has no actual interest in it. And she's suddenly picking up all manner of YA mysteries to skim through, so she's clearly just cobbling together stolen ideas from other writers and her fans.

Lmao 😂. Thank you very much.
I always stop watching her for months so i had no idea wtf was that Lottie everyone was talking about.
So she's really just making some Erimentha 2.
I like your Blakeney's plot better lol.
I imagine Ruby will reveal all the details of her book on insta soon.

Just a quick question... Am I really the only one here who loved going on holidays with their parents? I only stopped going on holidays with my parents when I started University ("late" because of health issues I won't go into too much) at 24. I never felt ashamed nor was I ever shamed by anyone. People were actually envious or jelaous because I could go to places during every school holiday, while they were stuck at home 😇

i agree! i feel like most people only stop going on holidays with their parents because the parents refuse to pay for them in adulthood. sure there are a couple of years when youre a teenager where you dont want to be seen with your parents, but i think most adults wouldnt turn down a free holiday with their parents if it was offered to them 🤣

I don't want to shame Ruby for her (possible) asexuality because I don't see it as one of the problematic things about her. Her discomfort around the subject is probably a symptom of her social anxiety and relative immaturity and/or insecurity. It only becomes an issue when she starts judging other people for their preferences. I think she has done this in the past, e.g. looking down on students who go to parties, wear makeup, drink alcohol, etc. Maybe she's growing out of that attitude now.

I have no problem mocking this hilarious review though.

You can DAFFINATELY tell she JANUINELY read it by her thorough and in-depth review, which isn't at all suspiciously vague and completely incoherent:

This word does not mean what you think it means:

The writing is rich and dormant. Dormant like a volcano? How very lyrical.

Past, present and future intercept. I think she means 'intersect' but let's go with intercept...

The past, present and future have been intercepted somehow...but how?

The book doesn't just contain memories, it is etched with them. The memories are 'immediate' but also 'distant' and this contradiction is never explained.

Their relationship is 'carnal and abstract' plz stop this. 😂

Yeah I agree, I don't think there's anything wrong with going on holiday with your parents as an adult. I wish I could do that, and I absolutely think people should enjoy holidays with their parents while they can <3

It's just that in Ruby's case, going to Italy with her parents is nice and all but it's not something that will help her grow, imho. Like there's at least two dozen things she could/should be doing during her gap year in order to make progress and have some emotional development, and vacationing with mom and dad is not one of them. But nothing against holidays with parents in general!

There's really no shame in it. Personally I would rather be on a holiday alone than with mine but that's just me. We really don't get on

Okay this is OT but I knew daddy bones vaguely resembled someone

Do I sense worry that Ruby might be nearer than you think? 😝 Be on high alert, she might try to sell you stationery or practise her Italian vocab.

Knowing her that vocab will actually be Spanish. The same Spanish she probs used in France 🤣 Do we see a duolingo sponsorship in the works? Maybe that's what all this travel is for:unsure:
