I assume her parents are the type to try and sweep things gently under the rug - ignore what's going on and do whatever they can to persuade themselves that Ruby is fine and doesn't need professional support. However, I don't think it would be fair to get in touch with Sixteenth/her parents though - firstly because they both know and don't care, but also because I think that's a major breach of a boundary. We can talk about influencers here, complain and make fun, praise them even, but actually going so far to contact management/family I think is going too far. We're not Ruby's friends, and we don't know her, it would feel far too close to harassment and stalking to contact people close to her even if it could potentially do good (which it wouldn't tbh).

I have a sibling at Exeter and their support is almost non-existent, I went to Birmingham and they got rid of their full time paid counsellors yet paid our VC one of the highest salaries in the country, for him doing nothing but sitting around being homophobic.

Yeah, the Birmingham VC I'm talking about is David Eastwood - idk if the homophobia will be online but having gone to that university, he was not a nice man, and I'm pretty sure he made it very hard for the staff to put forward plans for a staff LGBTQ+ group. The current VC is Adam Tickell, who came straight from Sussex, and you can find his transphobia everywhere so we've just gone from bad to worse tbh.That's really sad and frustrating. What a scary thought. We might log in one day and find you giving tea reviews (''banana-y, blueberry-y, birthday cake-y'') and telling us how we can condense our one big essay into 50,000 small, manageable essays. Perhaps this is a fate that awaits us all.I worry that one day soon, I'll watch one of these bafflingly incompetent, devoid-of-purpose shitshows and the barrage of sheer stupidity assaulting my brain will cause some kind of dumbness by osmosis and make me forget how vowels work, what a kettle does or what my family look like.
