I think they just grew apart. If I'm not mistaken, I vaguely remember Ruby mentioning her in a video, telling that they still sometimes write to each other but they aren't as close now.

They seemed very close - I think she made a video about Ruby being bullied as well.
Oh my gosh I got recommended this a few months ago and I just assumed that she was talking about herself in third person

She was quite friendly with some school friends too but that seems to have gone quiet as well!
Honestly, they probably matured quite a bit and just didn’t have much in common anymore. It can be awkward since a lot of people go through huge changes in late teens/early 20s and having a friend like Ruby that stayed very similar to what they were like in school can draw you apart easily especially if you don’t go to the same university. I don’t think Ruby was that close to her few friends from school anyway.

I agree - she doesn't really seem to meet up with or hang out with anyone from home at all really, except for their family friends and cousins who seem to appear quite a lot. People who she was friends with in school will be in 3rd year now if they went to uni straight away, looking at grad jobs etc. but Ruby is still doing the same thing she was doing before she started uni.
I know Ruby meant well by making this video but agree that it could very easily be used as fodder by bullies, just from my memory of what people were like in secondary school. I don't know if this is just me being cynical, but from my experience of being bullied in school, but someone who will go out there and bully someone is unfortunately unlikely to listen to this and immediately change their behaviour.
With relation to Ruby potentially being on the spectrum I have some observations. These observations come from my situation being on the spectrum.
- People on the will often use "masking" techniques to hide the fact that they are on the spectrum and are also very self conscious about themselves. These techniques are mainly developed from observation of other content and behaviors. Possibly contributing to the Hermione style accent used by Ruby being used an end goal of how someone that you idolise speaks therefore it is an aspiration to imitate.
- Rules and protocols are something that is followed, and in most cases researched an example of this would be Ruby's study tuber project video about "Victorian Letter Writing". This is a special interest. Additionally most people will have more than one special interest but they will try to revolve them around one or two different topics.
- Education especially with someone with special needs is for the most part their utmost priority (which their world will revolve around). Explaining the often toxic seeming obsession with productivity although a lot of the time there is a lot of procrastination (off camera). I personally have felt that the University style of education has worked better for me (partially due to the fact that I struggled to stay in the classroom during secondary school) this could also be to do with the fact I'm studying something I'm interested in.
I don’t condone bullying one bit - but this video really highlights the fact that Ruby can’t understand difference. It’s perfectly ok not to like reading or Harry Potter... It doesn’t give you the excuse to bully people that do, but it’s ok not to like it. It comes across as her looking down on others that don’t share the same interests as her...
At times, I thought this friend was make believe - Ruby’s way of creating a mini version of herself in her head. We never knew how she became or even met said “Ruby”...

Its not wrong to say alcohol like what does she think ethanol is? Its a bleeping alcohol. I honestly don't mind her acting like a know it all, but when she acts like a know it all and get it wrong, I find it so cringe lmao

I'm not too sure about that. She did post last year something HP related on that account. but this her actual account that she uses ( I hope this is fine to post) She does seem different but I'm trying to understand her following a significant amount of 'Kristen Stewart' fan accounts...
