One of the other things which Ruby does that irritate me a lot is how she brews her tea, she is a self-proclaimed tea lover, studies CEREMONIES of how to prepare it, yet she is always seen brewing tea with boiling water, and just pouring it in the kettle and letting the loose leaf tea sit in there?? Ruby doesn't even make her videos for anybody except herself, in my opinion. EVERY single time it just feels like her ideal audience is....well, herself. She is probably one of the only people who sits at home doing nothing but studying, yoga and walks - this is presuming she isn't putting on a persona.
She can never just admit to using things intermittently, or when she feels like it. She could've said that she used note flags for certain books, when she feels like it, when she wants to come back to certain things. But instead it has to be the best and most essential study tool that she uses religiously and all the time. I'm using your example of the note flags but really, this applies to the majority of what she talks about. Not just you, I mentioned the same thing when it went up. It's bizarre. There was never any mention of Mina's surname or a link to her socials either on Ruby's Instagram or Pumpkin Productivity's site or Insta page (I think the only link to Mina ever put up was an Insta story buried in amongst Ruby's usual bullshit that was naturally gone in a day).I had a scroll through her website and saw the description for “Mina’s meal planner” - is it just me who finds it bizarre that there is no mention of this being a collaboration, or even specific mention of who Mina is?

This is a staggeringly stupid list. If you have a computer, access to the internet, a phone, a pen and a notebook, that's everything you need. Buy the reading lists when they're announced, or borrow them from the library.
Stupid apps that require you to solve Dan Brown escape room puzzles to turn off your alarm, or restrict all your apps aren't academic essentials. They're a sign that you need to exercise more willpower and self control if you keep turning off your alarm or getting distracted on the internet and missing important things. This is a Ruby problem. It is not a universal student problem.
Candles are not academic essentials.
Things like food and water are not academic essentials. They're essential to staying alive. You should be consuming them every day regardless of if you're a student or not.
This is just sheer idiocy in video form. I'd wager because that '35 things to do before Back to School 2021' video was her most popular in a long time, she'll churn out a tonne of these numbered list videos full of terrible advice, complete incompetence, recycled B-roll and endless, repetitive padding.

She is also extremely messy, for someone who is supposedly so into lists and notes, stationary and revision. Her messy handwriting, her horrible underlining, her haphazard tabs. What a mess she makes. During all these years, in all her free time of finding ways to fill her hours up, why didn't she learn to be neater, write more clearly, underline straight or use an index card or ruler to keep it nicer, colour-code tabbing like you see in so many YouTube videos. Exactly, Youtubers like Ruby are always temporary. 50+ videos on the same topic have nothing to do with creativity or even effort when she only uses material from her old videos and even copies her own content over and over again. I wonder why she never actually makes videos on how to learn effectively. How to get very good grades, which learning methods are really very good, how to remember the material very well, how to formulate very well, how to answer beyond the question and find a deeper meaning. Because she can't. Ruby is a student who can achieve good to very good grades with very very much effort, but without really thinking about it herself. You can of course read and copy internet articles from any question and you will get good marks for it if you do it well. But university means finally learning how to make things up for yourself, or learning how to draw your own conclusions. But we will have to wait forever for such videos.And it's not even like she's making content she wants to see herself either, it's just an assembly line of the same thing over and over, She has no interest in being a content creator, she just likes the money that comes with it.
