Watching her video and reading the comments I felt the urge to make one of those reaction videos where an expert debunks everything in the original video lmao
It's terrible advice for freshmen at uni or anyone. You don't need anything on that list to succeed.

I really am passionate about the topics I’m learning about at uni, but COME ON. I’ll start doing my work when and only when classes start again. Summer is meant for chilling and relaxing!

It’s a little different with literature, apparently some Oxford colleges require you to do the primary reading before term starts (so you’ll be re-reading during term, rather than encountering the text for the first time) and they may even give a test to make sure you’ve done it. However, 1) Oxford is Oxford and Roobee doesn’t go to Oxford (lol), 2) their terms are super short and the reading lists look formidable, and 3) Roobee is recommending that you do secondary reading (critical essays) rather than primary reading beforehand. Which makes no sense in any way that I can understand. But I’m guessing that’s where she’s taking her cues, her bestie Molly is currently working through a long reading list (somehow managing to do it while apparently enjoying her summer and doing unproductive stuff ) and of course Roobee can’t be the second-best student in any group under any circumstances.

The outfit videos are concerning me. They’re just body checks. Come on Ruby, we can all see you’re losing a lot of weight, don’t push that onto your followers who might be struggling with it too

hi everyone, sorry if this is a bit OT but can anyone recommend any better planners than ruby's one? i genuinely really like the layout of hers, but it's sold out and much too expensive for me to justify it... plus i don't really have a need for a space to write down my morning routines etc. thanks

The saddest thing is that lot of comments say things like "you are the child my parents wish they had".
I've seen several variations of that type of comment under her videos.
What do you even say to that.

I own these socks - I never thought I’d have anything in common with Ruby but I only wear mine at Christmas!
Is it really so cold in the UK that you need a cardigan and Christmas socks?

it's cold and rainy where I am now and given they use their aga to heat their house I'm guessing it's probably a pretty cold building most of the time

Pity in Italy we're celebrating a holiday today and thankfully the weather is perfect for a barbecue lol

Be just realised that Ruby’s answer to an overflowing bookshelf was not decluttering and un-hauling books, which could have been accompanied by a video in which she would have to explain her thought process *the horror* which is a common stable of BookTube, it was instead to buy a whole brand new bookshelf and fill it out with books from downstairs
She even says in the bookshelf setup video that she’s putting off buying a book in a series she’s actively reading because it’s expensive… you just bought a whole goddamn bookshelf? Even if her parents bought it for her, surely that means she can now afford a single book, just the priorities astound me

Did anyone else think it was really sad on Instagram when she said how she didn't used to accompany her parents to the GARDEN CENTRE in termtime because she felt it wasn't productive and therefore should be a holiday treat? Honestly that is so worrying, I feel like someone should have intervened and locked her books away one day a week at least!

No it's not. It's ranging from 19 to 23°C most days this month. She either feels the cold or wishes it was a more aesthetic season already.

I know I'm repeating myself, but I haven't seen anyone with such a sad look.

Aside from the obvious weight loss, she doesn't give off a hint of genuine happiness, which seems to me a clear sign that she should stop with this nonsense about outfits, aesthetics and toxic productivity and concentrate on her own well-being, which is, at this point, clearly damaged.

(edit to incorporate pics): I mean, what's the point? With the money she has earned over the years, the resources she has, etc. she could just stay away for several months and concentrate on her recovery. But she just doesn't. A mystery (or a lot of greed on top of it all...).

I also found this whilst watching that day in the life of an autumn enthusiast when she pretended it was October etc. She kept going on about how stuff like playing with the dogs was one of her favourite things to do in autumn, but surely when you’re at university for the majority of the autumn anything she does that’s specifically home related would be one of her favourite things to do in the summer or in winter when she’s actually home I know she goes back home a lot especially during lockdown but still seems like a weird disconnect to me

Ohhh trust me I constantly have urges to reply to soo many of them comments, but i don't really feel like dealing with the people who think correcting someone (even nicely)=bullying and harassment
