Rosie Jones is the only comedian who needs the word ‘funny’ in front of comedian to remind you that’s what she’s supposed to be

Could you imagine if that was true. I reckon whenever Bradley Walsh leaves The Chase that ITV will hire her as his replacement so they never pay anything out on the final chase.

I watched the original, and even with someone else presenting it, I don't think it would work. The reason it was so popular was all the innuendo between Jim, John Virgo, and those on the show. You would never get away with it nowadays, so it will literally just be watching people play snooker with crappy jokes. Add Rosie into the mix, and it's a perfect remedy for insomniacs.

Not her biggest fan but she's done well for herself so credit to her.

I have watched all 6 episodes of Pushers and liked it. It was an easy watch and mildly amusing.
I've watched 2 episodes and enjoying it so far ! It's a really good idea for a show

Iv not seen pushers yet but I am planning on watching it.

I don’t particularly find her humorous and her personality can sometimes grate on me depending on what mood she is in when she is on something as herself. her disability has no affect on me liking her comedy or not like it seems to for some others (not talking about anyone in particular!) for me its because I don’t particularly find her funny every punchline is basically themed the same one of either I’m a les or disabled or look how quirky or northern or rude I am every single time which I don’t personally enjoy.

but I don’t actually mind her as an actress though so would she wouldn’t put me off something if she was in it. probably because she is playing another character.

She should stick to acting & not stand up shows. I don't think she's funnier enough to carry her own show. But I actually found pushers hilarious 😂

I saw the advert for Pushers and something scripted like that gives her the right comedic timing that is harder to zing people on an unscripted show with her delivery.

It's very good. If people are expecting Only Fools And Horses or Royale Family level comedy they will be disappointed.

But if they are looking for some short episodes easy to watch comedy, in an era TV stations are against creating new comedies, I don't think they will be disappointed.

I do feel bad about complaining but I've just listened to a bit of her show on Radio 4 Extra and she's not an audio performer.
She struggles to get her words out and I know that's really hard for her but, because of that, you can see the denoument coming a mile away and the wait is tedious, especially when it's obvious people around her have got it early but just keep giggling, until she delivers the punch line.

Got to admit, I've softened towards her. When she moves away from her 'disabled les' routine and the stand-up (which is tough for any 'comedian', let alone one who is speech-impaired) and is given something focused to do (such as acting or things like Taskmaster), she fares much better. I'm kind of bored with the former....we know, we know! I also can't help admiring her, in some ways, for being resilient enough to stick it out when she knows people are judging her (which I've definitely done). She can laugh at herself but is bound to become defensive when people are downright cruel...who wouldn't be? What I can't stand is performers (of any genre) who trade on sticking it to other people but who are totally humourless when it comes back at them. Some can become quite nasty and can't handle it at all.

yes I said similar upthread.

I don’t mind her as an actress but I don’t personally like her comedy or enjoy her when appearing on panel shows etc

thats not to say I don’t think she shouldn’t be doing comedy though as while she isn’t my bag I can imagine others enjoy her. There’s loads of comedy acts I don’t like but just because I avoid them doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be performing.
