First time I have seen an episode of tastmaster and I have no idea what is going on or what is supposed to be funny in general.
Seems like she is winning though!

I bet taskmaster have lost a lot of viewers wont be long until its cancelled coz if they was to get rid of her she'd literally kick & scream about it like she does when ppl say they dont find her funny

I've been on the Reddit thread for Taskmaster & it feels as though no one is allowed to say anything remotely critical about her or they get pounced on!

Haha just been reading it. I have to say perhaps I may not have got the concept on my first viewing of taskmaster last night but Rosie wasn’t the least funny part for me so well done, she has upped her game.

I got banned from r/britishproblems for saying while she's not a bad writer, she's not a good orator (a demonstrable fact)

The powermad head mod (aren't they all on there) PMd me to say "She's a better orator than you will ever be" and accused me to being ableist, what do you know about being disabled blah blah blah

I pointed out he may want to look up what orator means, and as far as being ableist, I'm disabled myself as I only have one bleeping leg.

I was then banned from the sub

Reddit is full of absolute whack jobs. The mods all claim to have full time important jobs but are never off fkn Reddit being patronising.

That’s wild. I haven’t seen any of her written work but trusting that it was funny and a good job but I didn’t find her or any of the others on taskmaster to be funny as I just didn’t get it last night.
I have loved ones with disabilities who require reasonable adjustments for things but sometimes you need to accept that not every role is for every person. I’m sure she is a lovely girl and is a good writer but she doesn’t have funny jokes on that show from what I saw yesterday and I find it hard to warm to her after the ‘angry cry’ pathetic comment about JK going for lunch.
I follow a few NI comedians who have disabilities and they do mention it a bit but then take the piss out of themselves but they don’t make it their whole personalities and a shield from criticism if they have a tit joke. I’ve watched podcasts where they have reflected on shows not going well with audiences and that shows more resilience than just assuming everything is down to people being ableist

I'm surprised you never got a 'Reddit cares' message. I've had a few of them in my time and it's always over the stupidest of things, one being because I said I preferred a certain band's older music to what they release now.

A lot of them showed themselves when the place was supposed to go dark over third-party apps being blocked. Many of them got caught still on it as they just privated it thinking no one would know. One of the ones I sub to is one of the worst. They were calling out the ban and also claiming they were thinking of leaving yet when it went dark, they were caught still posting and being on it daily like it was an obsession....anyone mentions it even now and you are Insta banned. They prove the whole 'Give someone a little power and they think they are invincible.' thing has something to it.

Watching taskmaster atm it's just awful. How did she win the first joke thing when none of the other comedians laughed
Its tricky isnt it! Its hard not to feel that Greg and Alex are being extra supportive of her because of her disability!!! Which is a bit off, when previously they have been cutting and unsupportive, at least on film to everyone!!

We did go to a filming session a few years ago. series 7....it was hilarious.....a brilliant night out....... and the outtakes or bits they didnt show, were even funnier than the bits they put out in the edited version. But what really struck me was how kind Greg and Alex were in reality, both to each other and to the contestants, but none of that made it into the edited version!!
Rhod Gilbert and the references to his ongoing gags with his mate Greg were hilarious, and too rude to show......

I dont want to see them being kind to Rosie....I want to see them being mean!!!

I just want them to treat her the same. Even when they filmed the other comedians at times as she was speaking you could see they didn't find her funny

That's the thing. Most people who are differently abled WANT to be treated the same. If they get something wrong call it out, if they are being a fool admit it rather than pandering. My nephew has severe autism and has the mental age of 3-4 although he is coming up for nineteen. There are also other things he has and because of that, our family have mingled and become friends with parents of kids who have other conditions and that is the one wish of most who have a relative who is disabled...for them to be treated the same as others and apart from the obvious things where they can't help it, not get allowances.

A perfect example is Chris McCausland who is doing Strictly. He is blind yet has said if he screws up, he doesn't want to get special treatment. He wants to get called out like others would because that is part of why he is taking part....he wants the Strictly experience others have had.

When it comes to Rosie though, she always claims she isn't her disability but then if anyone calls her out, she throws her dummy out the pram and claims the person is ableist and then has all her followers call them out as well. She can't have it both ways.

When will people learn that calling folks out for their behaviour, including lack of talent, is not equal to abuse and/or bullying! It's an opinion, and people are entitled to have and share them. And she is a tit comedian!

I've never seen anyone bully her about her disability just everyone thinks she's not funny which is an opinion on her 'talent' not her disability

Yep. Holding someone accountable via social media makes us all evil doers now, it seems.

Same. Whenever she's trending on Twitter I have a good look through people's posts and I've never seen anyone mention her disability, it's always that she's just not funny, and people are fed up of seeing her shoehorned into every comedy program going.

Yes okay, but some minor mental gymnastics that connects to her disability because it impacts her delivery, but if the jokes/quips she comes out with were actually funny, waiting a bit for her to spit it out wouldn't bother anyone. But she's as funny as a papercut.

Her disability is an easy shield to hide behind and cry victim, unfortunately. If you're attacking someone who's disabled for being disabled, it's bullying....if you're attacking someone for not being funny and they just so happen to have disability, then it's criticism and she needs to learn the difference.
