Much as I don't find her funny (couldn't care less about anyone else's sexuality), I'm sad to read that she had wine chucked at her on a train. That really isn't good.

That's tit, people are such holes. Why did someone do that? I hope they've caught them and Rosie is ok.

thats disgusting.

i don’t like her comedy personally but I don’t wish her any ill!
Can’t a woman just go about her business without being attacked, the world just feels really crappy.
wtf is wrong with people!

I don't find her comedy funny, but their behaviour towards her was outrageous, no-one should be abused like that

Says more about the perpetrators than it does the victims of these incidents. It's pathetic and so are they.

They must be so damaged inside that doing that can make them feel better about themselves or that doing that even enters their head in the first place.

I used to follow a man on twitter who had dwarfism. The amount of ridicule and abuse he got on an almost daily basis was disgusting.
People following him filming him and turning nasty when he asked them to stop, yobs trying to lift him up, shouted and laughed at, objects thrown at him.
It is baffling and scary what crosses people's minds that they think this is OK?

Demanding "pay attention, bigots" as the intro to your opinion piece isn't going to be a good way to get people on side, Rosie. Just saying.

The other guests don't know what to do

I actually can't understand her, even when really trying to. I feel so bad about it. But if I was there, I'd have to say, "Sorry, I can't understand you." Which would make for really bad tv.

I can't be the only one. It feels mean to not understand her, so I know that telly bosses want to push the narrative that people can understand her... but that doesn't change reality.

Is that a new game show or something?
I couldn't understand her either - I'd really need subtitles. I could understand her on Taskmaster though.
Obviously it's not her fault she's an odd choice to present something when her diction is so unclear.

I genuinely don't know what she's saying 😬

Edit to add:

If they insist on having her present then maybe they should include subtitles by default. Because surely viewers aren't going to stay tuned in if they can't understand what she's even saying?

I can actually understand what she's saying when she's acting I thought she was brilliant in pushers but if I see her on a panel show or something I can't understand a word

But tv execs won't listen to people, they'll just say "No, you can understand her! If you say you can't, that's ableism."

What was that show?
Certainly the people sitting there, trying to understand, looked mortified.

Disability awareness is something I champion but Rosie Jones doing comedy is just Joey Deacan all over again and it's absolutely painful to witness.

These tick-box hires the media are obsessed with are not the revolutionary progressive march forward they think it is. I wish they'd stop forcing things and let the organic talent come through, of which there will be any number of people who could 'represent' a marginalized group.

The problem is also that once they hire someone they put them on every show going until we get fed up. That goes for all prominent presenters and comedians.

It's weird, they do that with everyone even though people get sick of enough that eventually it backfires and the 'chosen one' of the moment has to step back for a while so people have a chance to miss them.

I understand the concept of striking while the iron is hot but they don't need to actually flood the audience with this sort of onslaught. It's so frustrating.
