Imagine putting the supposed whims of an indefinite cloud deity above the rights and needs of a living, breathing woman. Decided by the same 'men' who tell you to 'shut your legs slut', while expecting every woman who happens to even glance their way to sleep with them at the drop of a hat.

We live in an unbelievably overpopulated world and offer no support during our lives for any matter of importance; health, finance or social issues, you name it. Yet we think it's a good idea to say fuck it all and insist that every pregnancy ends in a child, even those that aren't compatible with life? Will you all be queing up to help nurture those lives and the fallout for the mother? I think fucking not.

First women lose the right to be called women and now they lose the right to autonomy over their own bodies. What's left to take? I suppose at this rate we shan't have to wait long to find out.

This IS erasure of women's rights to their bodies. It absolutely ties in the the trend of erasing womens’s rights to speak up for themselves and their safety too. Women's rights are being rolled back. What the eff is America playing at with this?!

America isn't a democracy anymore. They have a Democratic government yet were unable to stop the supreme court from this decision so votes make no difference. They know they are not accountable so forced through something that the majority of Americans don't want.

The Trump years were far more damaging than we thought - he managed to get 3 right wing arseholes into the supreme court.

I'm constantly staggered by how much men hate women.

My degree...if it helps is in Government. The SC made the decision. A decision that the majority of the US population doesn't agree with. It is an institution which is populated by political appointees. Trump placed three RW nutjobs in it intentionally to enact religious far right overturning of constitutional rights.

Because they are also erasing same sex language. They talk about girldick, translesbians, just so you know. Old fashioned same sex attracted homosexuals do not like the erasure of their language either. That they have to accept queer, an insult thrown at them before punches were. So yes, the erasure of language is a problem for everyone fighting to retain rights they fought fucking hard for. It is everything to do with language, everything. Take away words, and you take away any way of talking about rights.

As a Catholic, I'm appalled by this decision!!! For me this is blurs the line between church and state.

As several people have said, this is not a pro life decision cos once these kids are born, all these pro life gits don't care about them!!! Particularly when they're being shot in their class rooms.

But really if the pro lifers think that this will stop abortion, it won't. Abortion in the UK wasn't legal till the 1960s and there were still abortions taking place every day of the week.

And rich women will still have abortions - in nice clean private clinics. It's poor women who'll be at this rulings mercy.

Surely you cannot deny that the years of policing the language women use to discuss our issues and rights has had a hugely detrimental effect on women's rights campaigning?

Just give me one law that takes away the choice a man has over his body. There isn’t.

I just can’t believe this has happened. I can’t even articulate what I’m feeling right now but it is utterly heartbreaking.
I had a missed miscarriage at 17 weeks, I had to have a medical abortion February of this year.
I also was pregnant when I was 16 with my ex boyfriend. I had an abortion then out of choice because there is no way I could have coped with having a baby at such a young age. Do I still think about it - yes. Was it the hardest choice I ever made - yes. And this happened 11 years ago. However at the time it was the right one and no one ever took that choice away from me.
It’s just so so heartbreaking the way the world is going.

I didn't mention trans women once. And I certainly don't blame trans people for this as you seem to think I do. But this extreme policing around women's ability to speak about themselves and their rights have absolutely not helped things in recent years.

Adoption doesn't work. Look at how many adoptions break down. The safest place for a child is with its own genetic kin. Yes there are decent adoptees, but there are many who aren't and who will fail to bond with the child and then that child is at risk. I grew up in the care system because my biological mother should never have had me. I was horrifically abused and neglected. Children will suffer because of this. Some of us are not meant to be here and abortion is the better and more humane choice.

Expect infanticide rates to increase, also child abuse and neglect will increase too. The forced birthers are too bloody stupid to realise what the consequences will be. They're too brainwashed by religion it seems. Wait until all the middle aged, middle class churchgoers start falling pregnant with unwanted menopause pregnancies. Perhaps they'll change their minds when they find themselves on the receiving end. Apparently, accidental pregnancies during peri menopause make up a fair percentage of women seeking terminations.

I can't comprehend how an advanced industrial nation like the US can behave in this way. It beggars belief.
