This is not far from me. Would be very interesting to see this converted to a house but it’s in the middle of a massive forest, on a hill, with no road 😳 only accessible on foot, but don’t worry there is a parking lay by at the bottom 😂

Wrote my comment before I saw this! Do you know why it’s not owned as part of the rest of the castle estate? Assuming that’s what the rest of the land is
I don't, I'm afraid - saw the stuff about the access on Unique Property Bulletin's Facebook page.

Anyone with a spare $295 million?

I watched this and tbh it made me feel a bit sad. That's never going to be someone's home is it. The sort of person who can afford it will probably only use it for entertaining (although you could probably say the same for many of the massive houses that cost 1/10 of the price).

Also from a socialist/ humanist perspective, $295m is so much money (about £233m). A lot of homes in the UK are not worth 0.1% of that, and there are plenty of people in the UK not even earning 0.01% of that. Distribution of wealth really is f'd up isn't it!

I'll get off my soapbox now and present this house. Handy if you don't like neighbours, although you will have to tolerate hordes of walkers passing by (though you can sell them drinks so it's not all bad 😂)

I love a house full of books:

Another home I saved:

Oh the book one is just glorious! And I think the Cornish one is "reasonable" for what you get. I'm in Devon, and houses around the million mark are not much more than a slightly more special 4/5 bedroom family home in the current market.

For all Egypt fans

Dear god!

So many questions about this...

Could they not have had a quick clean and run a hoover round first?
Why is there no bed, is the owner sleeping on that filthy sheet covered mattress on the floor?
No cooker in the kitchen (just one of those 2 ring hob things), a fridge that looks about 50 years old, but full of Egyptian tat...
Also in the kitchen - 3 big salt containers. Who needs that much salt?
And there's an iron in one of the rooms yet I don't feel like the owner would do much ironing!

Place looks like it needs fumigating.

Presumably the people living there are renters and don't want to move? that is the only thing that would make sense, even just all the clutter in the kitchen is off putting

But seriously.. I just thought, what an amazing burglar deterrent this would be. Imagine breaking into a house and coming face to face with that 😭 I might get one myself 😂😂
I've found this thread today and been working my way through and I'm really confused about this! Have they taken a pic off the listing or something as I can't see what's being referred to?!
