It’s been sold twice now and seeing the amounts it sold for us crazy!

The decor in the pics would really suit this page…but I don’t wanna out myself on tattle 😂

I lived in 3 homes as a child and the people that bought each one from us all still live there so they’ve never come up on Rightmove. I’ve looked on street view but that’s all. I’d love to see inside.

I sometimes walk by my childhood home. My Parents bought it when it was a new build, and sold it in 1976. It was bought by a teacher, who made no improvements to it.
The house has recently been sold, and been completely gutted, it is very modern now. I do wish that somehow, I could haved moved back there, before it was modernised, it had a really large garden.

interesting isn’t it how a few of us on here have dreamed of buying back our childhood homes. Definitely only a dream for me as I definitely couldn’t afford it now.

I think the original price of the property was less than £10k. It must be worth at least £200k now.
I have just googled a property valuation site. The house was sold in 2019 for £205k, it is now valued at £248k. Way out of my price range.
Oh well, lets hope my Euro million numbers come up!

The increase in the price of property is actually mad isn't it? my small flat which I bought 3 years ago cost more than my parents big 2 story house and garden 20 years ago

My son and daughter went to our old home that had awful memories for them my son who has a theatre company wrote a performance based on our time there. The performance name is just literally the door number.( as that is what we always called it ) Anyway he wrote to the people who bought it and asked if he could go and see it and they said yes. They said it was very therapeutic. I went once years before that and stood outside and could barely breath.
I don't know if the performance will ever see the light of day ( I doubt I would go see it) but it probably was good to duck off some old old ghosts.

I went here for work once. It’s beautiful in real life like luxury. The space is designed for events so the kitchens are for world leading chefs. The stoves alone will cost hundreds of thousands which blew my mind. A friend worked in interior design and she worked on this and also One Hyde Park. It’s mad that level of wealth. X

So this is a tangent from looking at rightmove but recently I took a look at the latest planning applications for my town. Lots of very fancy houses being built. I came across this extension proposal and thought it was worth a share! It’s a three story side extension, top floor is an extra 4 bedrooms all en-suite and master with two dressing rooms, and a kitchen/living room. Ground floor is a swimming pool with additional spa pool, therapy room, steam room, gym and showers. Basement level is a games area with bar- and a casual ten pin bowling alley of course

If I was in a position to build my own house I'd add an outdoor swimming pool with an indoor entrance
