it is an enormous growth sector in the UK. Half of the new developments at Wembley follow this model, Blackhorse lane in Walthamstow, wood wharf in Canary Wharf, lots of woolwich, the new developments in Wandsworth where Homebase and b&q used to be. Within the next 5 years this will be a significant part of the London rental market.

eta: this is not necessarily better for renters. It will be a faceless management company who don’t give a shit that will deal with any issues. There are already blocks where tenants are looking to sue institutional landlords over poorly built properties

Yeh and service charges can be a nightmare i imagine, my block has no facilities except cleaners to pay for and the service charge is exorbitant

Not sure why that is an issue if someone is renting, poorly maintained yes. Also with more rental communities available it becomes much easier to move on (albeit a bit expensive) and also easier to find out which properties are maintained well with proactive management

To be honest in the time it's taken to build, there have been so many other new builds and complete renovations of existing houses nearby that it's probably not an issue anymore.

It looks like the front part of the house is an extension according to the description. So they have added bedroom 5 onto bedroom 2 which looks like it may be set up for a carer. Then added a door from their main bedroom to that bedroom. Makes sense if you consider the needs they have.

Oh yeh no denying it would be good for their needs.

But calling it a 5 bed when really 2 are one room accessed off another is a bit of a stretch for people without those needs

34$!!! would love this, the only issue for me is that I have the bath under the shower. What I would ideally love, would be a seat in my bath somehow

Planning permission potential for at least one plot and rope for dividing into multiple pets or an HMO.
Bit cheeky to value at potential when planning hasn’t been granted but you’re definitely not paying that just for the house as such
