I've still got these 2. My cousin had 2 Thumbelinas and mine has an unfortunate hairstyle due to being carried by her hair/ my attempt at a haircut.

Has anyone ever had to mend a Sindy? About 5 years ago, I found mine and the elastic band in her waist had dried out and she was in 2 halves. I performed First Aid by putting her in a jumpsuit...

I remember my boys wanting furbys because of all the adverising and being very disappointed. They were expensive if you had several children. I also went to a strange university post graduate lecture where the lecturer had to stop several timmes to feed her daughter's tamagotchi.

Awe, I'm glad I've found this thread. I vaguely remember in the 80s having a chicaboo (?) and a pink snugglebum that glowed when you hugged it. There was a family to collect but my parents only let me have one. I always wanted a my little pony too. Ooh and Little Professor! I loved maths.

I recently bought one for my 5 years old great niece one for her birthday.

Child of the fifties here Does anyone remember bayko building bricks prelego, I think they were made of bakelite and fitted on to metal scaffolding rods. I had one of those Ladybook type tricycles a dolls pram and a dolls house with furniture my mum made from matchboxes.

Does anyone remember Teeny Tiny Tears, a smaller version of Tiny Tears?

I still have mine, my uncle purchased it, he was on an army posting in Germany, and bought and posted her home the day I was born. She has been through the mill, she taught me I would never be a hairdresser, is missing an eye, and her origional outfit was lost. But what I do have is loads of clothes my Grandma made me from when I was little and used left over fabric or wool to make matching dolls clothes! I grew up in the 70's and money was short the only new clothes I had were made by Grandma everything else was handed down, the clothes she made me were handed on to my younger cousin, but I treasure the doll versions she made me.

Pippa dolls, they were tiny compared to Barbies and had such pretty little outfits

I've still got about 10 original Pippa dolls , clothes, shoes , furniture and accessories from the 70's
My father in law made a wonderful double fronted dolls house for my daughters in the 90's when they were little and it still has pride of place at bottom of the stairs, and is inhabited by said Pippas!
I've also kept all the polly pocket sets my daughters played with from 25 years ago and until recently I had numerous Barbies but sadly had to part with them along with a load of Sylvanian Family sets/ house
Also still have some wonderful Playmobil sets but had to get rid of the palace , zoo and hospital House was in danger of being overrun with toys!

We also had a ZX Spectrum that took about an hour to load. If you had a Commodore you were flash

the zx spectrum and the tape recorder you had to hook it up with and the noise as it was loading

loved my tiny tears, I loved all my dolly's, I had a doll called Drowsy she had a mop of blond hair, a cheeky face, she was soft bodied and wore a pink with white polka dot suit and when you pulled a string she spoke, I'm sure one of the things she used to say was I'm so sleepy, I remember sneaking her to school with me and one of my classmates pulled on her string to hard and broke her and she longer talked

If I got a Sindy house I would still be made up ! I’m 50

I always wanted the Sindy house, my best friend from school got it and it was massive, I absolutely love the proper old fashioned dolls house's one day I'll own one, however I did one year get a dolls house I think I was about 4, it was one my dad made, it was painted white with a red roof, it even had carpets, I remember being amazed that Santa had matched it with the same carpet we had in our hall!

Was going to say Big Trak until I read page 2.

I asked for a Mr Frosty for years until I got one. I used it about twice. Nearly gashed my hand crushing the ice and that's not a euphemism. Wouldn't have minded a Teddy Ruxpin either.

I was lucky enough to get a Scalextric though and a Commodore 64, although I should point out that when it came to Christmas, my sister and I were more than lucky. God bless you my parents, grandparents and uncle x

Boys toys; I still have my original Millenium Falcon that I had as a kid around 1982 (no, the toy wasn't from 1977 when Star Wars came out).

It must be worth... oh... about £30...

That was an absolute must have toy at the time though.

My hubby talks about his Evil Knievel that he had and loved though apparently was a bit rubbish.

OMG, my friend had this and I really coveted it! I loved that the phone would ring randomly. I only had one Sindy (ballerina) and no accessories but one year my grandmother bought me the Magic Cooker, which provided hours of play.

This was my absolute favourite toy for a long time ... Fisher Price Tree House. Though mine was definitely in the '70's .

My cousin had Simon and we were so jealous, we all used to fight over playing with it when we visited. I've got my own mini version of it now and still love it!

I'm not sure it was considered a toy exactly but these threads can't go without mentioning that Mr Frosty slushy maker was overhyped cack.

I had 70's Mr Frosty and he didn't work very well then lol
