I’ve never known any young people to look and act so old and boring

What is their obsession with appearing classy and demure, the mother looks like she would be up for few drinks and a wild night, lighten the fuck up girls and stop trying to live to perfection, have a few beers go wild, no it has to be white table cloths, name cards , moet champagne and welcome to erikas brunch. It looked like a baby shower more so then a hen, everything is planned to perfection. Id say the only craic in the Miami hen was Laura dorgan making them drink mimosas at the airport at 5am. I'm sure Laura kept it lit. They never do anything fun.

This probably isn’t the right thread and I actually don’t think Retro is offender of this to the extent other influencers and wannabes are but these Irish girls in NYC need to get a grip, there’s a girl Sophie something selling a pdf doc for 20 dollars with helpful tips for moving to NYC, firstly she lives in New Jersey….. and she literally has outlined the cost of a deodorant, butter, light bulbs - I actually cannot believe what I just read.. I’d imagine the goal is to outline the difference in cost of living (because apparently Irish people can’t wrap their brains around that) whilst she further rips them off. There’s another girl, going about being so far from home, she’s always back and forth and spent basically a summer in Ireland and she’s looking for sympathy, writing poems like she’s taking off on the famine ship.

I live in USA.

If you are an influencer you don’t care about bank holidays because you can be off whenever you want and it’s not like it’s a paid day off.

Retro has a regular 9-5job somewhere in NY and has just never declared it.

I think she had people there for 3 nights: the rehearsal dinner, the day of and day 2.

a person earlier in the thread said they knew someone going and it was 80 guests and Erika was paying. In her seating plan there’s 83 envelopes. So adds up.

3 nights @ 650 = €1950.

for arguments sake let’s say the 81 guests were all doubled up in a room. 40 rooms.

40 x €1950 is €78K just for accommodation.

We had a photographer at my friends hen in dingle a few years ago. Another friend also had photographer 2 years ago in killarney. It’s lovely to have professional pics during the day.

Just read that irish indo story and I've never read such a crock of shite in my life! The sob story she's selling about living in a NYC apartment with cockroaches and mice is the norm for most middle income people. I'm so surprised she allowed that to be published, it frames her in such a bad, unaware of her privilege light

Right?? Who did she pay or who is trying to kiss her feet at the Independent because the title is SO sensationalized. She did not "make it" in NY. She already came with a huge amount of privilege. The city is filled with rodents so while it is a nuisance, guess what, in a densely populated city as New York, you're bound to come in contact with a roach or two, it does not mean she lived in squalor and had to scrape by at a crappy job until she got her big break to finally afford groceries.

Also, the way her apartment is described is laughable. Nothing against renting (I am also a renter in NYC), but the Arch Digest level of describing someone's home is usually reserved for someone's actual home, not a place they don't even own, and I am fairly certain she does not live in some ultraluxury full service apartment or else we would have seen tons of pictures of the amenities by now. She just loves always reminding us that she lives on the Upper East Side, but we all know she is not THAT type of Upper East Sider she gives the impression of being. I get influencers make their living off selling a certain image/fantasy but it's so misleading when she's being interviewed on how she "made it" because there are WAY more people who actually came to this city with barely anything, struggling until their next meal, working their butts off, living in crappy apartments with long commutes into Manhattan to finally achieve their dreams, but no we get this overprivileged vanilla wafer talking about how hard her rise to success has been

Maybe just maybe this is not the time for this but I had a tough weekend with my friend who know the sly foxes very well, so it really really makes me so angry, when I see decent people who tried their best to pay back their debt, my friends husband for one, he fell behind with mortgage payments, he tried & tried to correct his mistakes, by getting 2 jobs, didn't see his family for weeks at a time. The banks wouldn't make a deal with him, & said he wasn't paying back his debt fast enough, they took the house back. This was the final nail in his coffin & in the end he couldn't take anymore, was in a very very bad way. He ended up comitting suicide, leaving behind a heart broken family. Then you have these dirty b....... who the bank wrote off 4.5 million for & now rubbing people's noses in it. They must have been hiding money resulting in having a 3 day wedding & a house in the hamptons. Fuck me it is not right or fair.

They are the worst shower I ever saw on social media. Any other person would be hanging their head in shame ah no they hold their heads up high. Where is Karma when you want it.
Dont get me started on the mothers sister. She is a wagon & was a nightmare & total cow going to school.
