Speaking of chicken pox, my friend paid £200 for her daughter to have a vaccine that will prevent her from getting chicken pox. The following day, her daughter woke up with... chicken pox

I had an email today regarding a course that I want to do. It's a private course and it may be either 1 to 1 instruction or max 6.....but my point is this part of the email , which is the first time this has been an issue for me and I'm not sure how I should respond.
Apart from the fact that my medical history is nobody's business , i take absolute offence that I am being asked this and will now possibly not be able to do the course!
This is discrimination on medical grounds right here

Quite frankly they don't deserve your money or patronage.

It’s not discrimination. They have absolutely no duty towards you. If you’re not happy with needing a vaccination to attend, then don’t go, use someone else.

People keep going on about freedom of choice but for some reason they don’t seem to think freedom of choice also applies to those who are delivering services, etc. They can absolutely choose to require this.

Freedom of choice should not under any circumstances apply to businesses requiring ANY information on someone's personal medical history to use the service. So yeah, people are going to be pissed about that. Prohibiting access to someone based on what medical care they choose to have or not have absolutely is discriminatory. Where does it end? Proof of recent STI checks?

People are walking blindly into giving up their freedom in this country. The most powerful thing we have is our freedom.
It is absolutely not acceptable to discriminate against someone for their medical choices. Isn't that what we may have to face in our jobs, restaurants/bars re-opening. Our freedom of choice.
I respect people's decision to vax or not to vax. I care about people and their decisions.
Thank god for utube

The course instructor has freedom of choice, too. If they don't want to instruct someone who hasn't been vaccinated, why should they be forced into it, if they're not comfortable? The instructor is allowed to protect their own health, surely.

Exactly this. If we are allowing a society where people can be expected to reveal personal health information and are refused entry for not vaccinating, I expect to see the same treatment for alcoholics and pubs, obese individuals and heck anywhere that sells junk food, the list goes on. If we are denying people access to society because of their life choices, where does that leave us? Not civilisation that’s for sure. We don’t take someone’s health choices from them because we deem it for the “greater good”, obesity is one of the leading causes of death worldwide and places unmeasurable strain on the healthcare systems, but yet we let people in those situations continue as is. Despite the fact that has knock on effects for quantity and quality of care for everyone else. If we start here, it doesn’t end.

The course instructor has freedom of choice, too. If they don't want to instruct someone who hasn't been vaccinated, why should they be forced into it, if they're not comfortable? The instructor is allowed to protect their own health, surely.
So what you are saying is the vaccine doesn’t work then if you need to worry wether someone else has had theirs? If you’ve had yours and it’s protecting you as you say, you needn’t bother yourself with anyone else’s choices.

All we are asking for is freedom of choice over OUR OWN BODIES, you are expecting freedom of choice OVER SOMEONE ELSES. There’s your difference.

...and i didn't ask if the instructor is vaxxed , i don't want to know nor do I care. Its none of my business actually .

They had Bev Turner on Jeremy Vine show yesterday and she made a very interesting point about the death numbers. We are currently doing well over one million tests for Covid every day (I had to double check that, but it's true ...ONE MILLION TESTS EVERY DAY!). Imagine (pre Covid times) if we tested at that level for the flu virus. The deaths "from flu", i.e within 28 days of a positive flu test, would be way higher than that actually reported in the official statistics. So, lots of people dying from the usual causes such as heart attacks, strokes, cancers etc, would also be classed a "flu death", by virtue of a massive testing campaign. If that was the case (and God forbid we don't start mass testing for flu) there would be all kinds of panic going on, and inevitable calls for lockdowns every winter.

Wow the government and mainstream media did so well segregating and brainwashing the general population. Its truly sad to see how ridiculous people have become.
This time last year no one was vaccinated and people had no problem socialising with others when lockdown was eased. But suddenly now that some people have chosen to take a rushed vaccine at the drop of a hat anyone who hasn’t is suddenly extremely infectious. Are people honestly that niave?

I can’t believe what humanity has become its actually scary and just feels like history is repeating itself.

But you could make the same argument for the flu jab. I accept that Covid is more dangerous than flu of course. Assuming the instructor has been double jabbed for Covid, his risk is very much reduced. So, if the same instructor has had the flu jab, he could technically start refusing students who had not had a flu vaccine. Surely that wouldn't be right, and neither would it be right as regards the Covid vaccine.

I sent an email back anyway , saying that I have never been asked for my medical history and am not comfortable sharing something so personal and as long as the instructor is fully vaxxed then he/she should feel somewhat safe and comfortable....
We'll see how it goes.
** I just sent it for divilment actually , I won't be going on the course which is a real pity but hey ho we may aswelk brace ourselves for this sort of behaviour.

And great point made by Mbouzer, people were so blaźé last year and now they have their precious vaxx and they seen to be more vulnerable than before

And to think we’ll be depending on the kindness of strangers from here on in

I second this! I’ve said it before on other threads but I work in a gift shop in an extremely touristy location. Last summer was quite literally hell on Earth from the sheer number of tourists, 90% of whom wouldn’t follow social distancing guidelines no matter how much you asked them too. If it was safe then, it is safe now. And if it wasn’t, well then wtf were you on your non essential jollies in the Lake District in the prime of a pandemic?

Exactly, but not to worry the next variant will come along that only targets cats and dogs just in time to get them vaccinated too! What are the chances!

Something else that has just occurred to me. Just say that you were happy to confirm your vaccination status and started attending the course, based on having provided proof of being double jabbed. What happens when these "booster jabs" start being pushed later in the year (as seems inevitable)? Could the instructor then start demanding proof of the booster, and kick you off the course if you had decided not to have one?
