Fancy getting to 30 and being excited about hanging washing out , ok if you have lived in a high rise all your life , but come on !!

I regularly go walking in the Dales and every farmhouse you see often has washing out on a line, sometimes even under the roof of a open outbuilding , even on cold days its flapping away as theres that much fresh air and wind . Moves to a built up area with an enclosed garden and puts washing out , make it make sense !!

Please mama Beaver go round and show her how to hang out washing and how to sort colours ! Maybe you could move onto how to chop an apple in to slices

I didn't realise how much the view of the Dales helped disguise her lack of content. I don’t actually agree with the new fines - they’re too extreme, especially for families like mine where it’s near impossible for one parent to get annual leave during school hols. Since we’ve had kids in school, the only time my husband has been able to get off during school holidays is one week at Christmas one year. What are we supposed to do, never go on holiday? We took my daughter out for one week at the start of this school year to go abroad (last Sept), that was following her reception year where she had 100% attendance. And since we got back from that holiday she’s had perfect attendance too. Should we be forced to pay £80 each per child so we could go on future holidays with our kids? Absolutely not it’s absurd. HOWEVER Mrs and Mrs Hobson, billionaires who “don’t need to work” absolutely do not need to take their kids out of school multiple times a year!!! It’s disgusting, especially during a school year where the kids have actually moved school. There needs to be some kind of tiered system for the fines for repeat offenders like these idiots

If he did surprise her (and that's a big IF) then why doesn't he surprise the children with new trainers? Why not surprise them with a day trip to let them pick out their own trainers rather than usual hand me downs 3 sizes too big or Vinted purchases. Why does Steve get to buy car after car and Beggy get treatments all the time and the children look like they've had to rummage a lost property box at school to get dressed!

Hope Mama Beave (the landlord) comes to collect their monthly rent soon...might put a stop her flaunting all these purchases when they will be skint again!

At the start of term we sometimes give out our 'star of the week' to any child struggling with separation or new routine etc towards the end, after we've given out a weekly award to every child, we start to repeat for the children that have perhaps had a bad week at home or dealing with a change. Of course the star of the week can also be a big achievement within the setting or their extra curricular activities but usually we give out certificates (sometimes a few a day) for each capacity; successful learner, responsible citizen, effective contributor and confident individual...when a child has achieved or met the skills/qualities within the capacities. So as much as she's making out Woody is so clever and has amazed the school, it may be that he's actually needing extra support with settling in and the teacher wanted to give him a boost for tomorrow.

Of course his idiot mum couldn't even be there for drop off/pick ups for him for the first week, even though she doesn't have a job and has no excuse!! Beggy, your children should be your number 1 priority. Not yourself or your hair/nails

Thank you for sharing this - loved reading the thinking behind this . Our son often had certificates - he loved getting them, and I loved seeing them. We still have so many of them in scrap books.

Rebecca, when you next read here - this thread is full of a wealth of knowledge from Mums that will have gone through challenges - working Mums, stay at home Mums, carers, Mums that are unwell - and then we have you!

You know what's actually crazy, they were struggling financially to the point of selling the forever home and she still hasn't got a job. I'm self employed with my own shop and have been for the past 2 years but since Jan things have felt a little strained, not being able to take the kids for days out as much, no treats, holidays this year etc so I've got a second job, cleaning in the mornings, to ease the stress abit. I'd rather not be doing it but I can't stand seeing my kids go without. The fact she's so up her own arse she can't even put herself out for her kids, or even herself tbh since she loved that house, is beyond ridiculous.
