Hadn’t heard the details till I listened to this podcast but this case about Vishal going missing is heartbreaking

I think Claudia was killed by someone she was having an affair with, who possibly roped in a friend or two to either help him kill her or dispose of the body.

She may have been pregnant or had said she was going to tell the wife. I then think her body was put in the foundations of part of the uni being built at the time (the same uni she worked at). But I also believe that the police know exactly who's involved and have no evidence/ they are all covering for each other
I'm sure I've heard the police say as much. Must be so incredibly frustrating! ☹

Yes I think they said she had a complicated love life. Takes two weeks to tango though!

Absolutely, if it was an affair then two people were involved, both would have known what they were doing, yet it was Claudia who lost her life. No excuse to kill her and then put Claudia's family and friends through sheer hell for the rest of their lives.

If she was seeing someone and they did this, they have a cruel heart of stone. Evil.

I think people will (and already are) moving on to other breeds. German Shepards have suddenly started popping up in my local area,
Apparently cane corsos are the next one. I've been seeing a lot in my local area now. One of them seems very well behaved and the guy has a good control off it. Its all about the breeders and then how they are raised as puppies and adults.

@LouBug19, this was from KYLIE on the dangerous dog breeds thread - I thought it was very interesting

"
Interesting read on this website: https://www.dogsbite.org/dangerous-dogs-pit-bull-owners.php#liontamer.

"A behavioral trait not addressed in the Tufts study has been dubbed the "Lion Tamer Complex." Many pit bull owners believe they are superior dog owners and through this superiority can control their "game bred" pit bull by teaching discipline and love. While not all pit bulls are inherently vicious, their genetic history cannot be "loved" out of them either. As demonstrated by numerous press reports of pit bulls attacking their owners, this complex has serious and deadly ramifications. "

Well worth a read. "

I think this one is linked to Sidney Cooke and his lot. But I think there's not enough evidence.

Does anyone know the reasoning behind lenient treatment of these vile men who commit crimes against kids including sexual? I just don’t understand why they’re rarely ever properly punished. Commit a financial crime and you’re done for. It makes me sick to be honest. It’s no wonder so many of them continue to commit these disgusting crimes, why not when they barely get a slap on the wrist.

That was interesting, thank you. Some dogs are bred to kill unfortunately, they can have a high prey drive. I saw an XL bully the other day with a muzzle on and the guy left it outside the shop but he was keeping an eye on it, I walked past it and was like "hello" in my baby voice and I could just see its tongue wanting to come out. At the same time i couldn't avoid it to get past and there was nothing stopping it attacking me if not muzzled. Different breeds need different stimulation too, that's why I think border collies aren't city dogs.

In the Claudia Lawrence case im convinced she "went missing" the night before as there was no phone activity after 9.30pm which was very unusual for her apparently. Even if she had turned the phone off to go to bed she would surely have turned it on the morning after? Just my theory

I've written to my MP about this. Men who view CSA frequently avoid jail altogether. This is incredibly dangerous behaviour which always has a victim and just suspending a sentence or giving them a community order is not going to make a damned bit of difference.

Its like that child actor (now aged 22 I think) who recently was found with loads of images and some of the worst category and he just got a suspended sentence. It blows my mind.

When it’s thousands and they get a suspended sentence. Like how many does it actually bleeping take? Surely a couple is repulsive but when it’s into triple and quadruple figures how can they just get a slap on the wrist

We do not have anywhere near enough prison spaces to lock up every single one of these monsters. There are so, so many of them. Prisons are already all full/over capacity.

For what it's worth, I believe every person found in possession of child abuse images should be locked up, and I really can't see any way for them to ever be safely released. I'm just saying that there isn't room even to give them all a pissy little sentence, not that it is right.

I am a huge fan of rehabilitation work, offending behaviour programmes, education, etc. but sex offenders are beyond all of that as far as I'm concerned. There's no way back.

Has there always been so many of these evil bastards preying on children, or has the internet encouraged this behaviour? It seems like there's one every week in our regional paper caught either downloading images or contacting them via apps

I agree. I don't know what the answer is beyond putting them all on an island on the middle of nowhere and never letting them off. They can live their own pathetic lives without any access to children, the internet, anything.

It was a different equally revolting gang. In the podcast, the journalist tracks one of them down.

I think they've started been around but the internet, phones etc. have made "material" much more easily available. They're also able to talk to like minded individuals worldwide which emboldens them and normalises their behaviour.

I would be really interested to see some proper research into the effects of exposure to pornography (especially hard-core porn) and subsequent sex offending.
A lot of legal porn walks right along the line (stepdaughter, babysitter, petite girl, school uniform, etc.) and will (in my opinion) naturally lead to disgusting interests.
They have always been there, but now they have access to so much more and so not only does it allow them to offend more freely, it also normalises their criminal behaviour. I utterly detest them all.

Couldn't agree more with everything you say... but there are plenty of women who are willing to shout it down and say how "empowering" OF, porn etc is.
IMO it's a poison within our modern day society.

Was talking to my parents about this yesterday- we all work in mental health. Firmly believe it’s a core belief that these behaviours are acceptable- and no amount of therapy is changing that. There is an inherent evilness.
