He's not going to attend, I would eat my hat if he did. The case will proceed in his absence (as it's a civil case) she will be awarded and he won't pay a penny of any award made. He likely will never travel outside of the UK again in case of extradition.

However the palace pr machine will spin it that an awful American court never gave him a chance to defend himself, and how could they find him guilty when he was not even in court? I can’t help but feel sorry for those two. I’ve never liked them much but that’s part of why I feel sorry for them, because they arent very likeable. I’m sure they’ve developed a thick skin with a mother like Fergie - and a father like Andrew, he’s always been pretty ghastly - but this is obviously on a different level. Having your dad accused of any sort of sexual abuse is the ultimate nightmare really , only matched by the accuser being underage at the time. Then having it play out on a world stage revealing him to be smug, ignorant and gobsmackingly out touch.... I wonder if they actually believe him and think Virginia Roberts made it up. however…. even though he’ll never know what it’s like for your children to be freezing at home because you can’t afford to put the heating on in the dead of winter, or the terror of falling into arrears on council tax - he will be kept on bare bones for the rest of his life (granted, as far as royal frugality goes) and seeing as he’s got a taste for gross excess, finery, pomp and ceremony - that is still going to hobble him. He’ll never be the centre of attention with lots of people forced to defer to him. No fancy uniforms or ceremonies. Charles & William will keep him somewhere tucked away like the old family dog that attacks everyone for no reason but you don’t have the heart to have it put down. He deserves far worse but it is a punishment of sorts and probably as harsh as it gets for the favourite son of Liz.

That his personal investments have tanked makes him even less independent and therefore he has even less leverage - yes it’s a massive headache for the family to manage but on a personal level Charles must be enjoying it.
