So the depriving of oxygen was common and some kind of kink for them it seems. That disturbing picture of Preston slumped over the cot bars he had blue lips. Absolutely horrific,. deranged stuff

The level of narcissim and sadism displayed by JV is off the bleepin scale. I have worked with these kind of deviants before and I have never seen anything like this. Most abusers (not only child abusers) cover up their physical abuse. In that they will be very careful where they inflict pain / leave a mark so as to not raise suspicion (ie not on face etc). They didn't even do this. So confident (arrogant) in their surroundings, and those involved with them that they didn't have to go to such lengths. Quite simply , these guys were hiding in plain sight.

I think this will also be reflected in the extreme porn stuff they were found with. Awful.

It’s important to remember that when the photo of Preston slumped in his cot, in which he has blue lips because he’s obviously just been horrendously SA and deprived of oxygen, has obvious bodily fluids coming from his mouth, over an area that is stained and tested to show their semen mixed into saliva.. JMF is proven to be in the house the whole time.

I have been feeling the same. I also felt that way reading the trial updates regarding Star Hobson, Arthur Labinjo- Hughes…Sebastian Kalinowski.
All those precious children who should have felt love and safety.

It really hurts and really affects me; but I feel like if this children had to LIVE it and experience it then I should
Be able to
Stomach reading it.
The is how I feel, too. I don't want to - but to turn my back on this degree of suffering, and this degree of evil, seems like a cop out and that I am betraying the children who suffer these abuses.

If we don't read it, it's easier to ignore it, deny it, pretend it isn't happening and even become blind to it. I didn't want my eyes open to this horror - most normal people don't - but none of us have the right to turn our backs on it. When we aren't aware, or are wilfully blind, that is when the cruelties continue because people think "Oh - no-one would do that! It's too horrible to even think of." That makes it impossible.in their minds.

I am now at the stage of thinking of the worst thing that anyone could possibly do - and assume that someone will do it, and also that someone with a more corrupt mind than mine will do something even worse. However foul it is - someone will get a kick out of it.

Believe it, and condemn it. But NEVER ignore it.

Doctors are not stupid!

Unfortunately, through my work alongside medical professionals and social services, I’ve seen more than my fair share of NAI (non accidental injuries). The number of parents or guardians who believe they can talk their way out of these situations, convinced they’re far cleverer than everyone else, is staggering.

The reality is that doctors know exactly what typical childhood injuries look like. Normal bruises tend to appear over bony areas such as knees, elbows, and shins. Bruising to the abdomen, chest, buttocks, or other soft tissue areas is immediately concerning. Likewise, any bruising on a non mobile baby is a major red flag.

I remember one particularly distressing case in which a father had bitten his baby. His explanation was that the baby had somehow rolled onto him while his mouth was open. Aside from the absurdity of that claim, the injury itself told a very different story. If such an accident had occurred, the mark would likely have been faint and relatively straight, with little to no bruising or skin damage. Instead, the baby had deep, curved indentations and significant bruising, showing that the jaw had clamped down with enough force for the back teeth to leave clear impressions. His sheer arrogance was breathtaking. Thankfully baby is no longer in his care.

I knew the updates today would be terrible but goodness me, I can’t wrap my head around it and how much that beautiful boy suffered. They are utter, despicable c*nts.

I’d be interested to know if JV’s mum is in court supporting him or not.

Does anybody know if the jury will be shown pictures of the bruising or is it just being described to them?
I wonder if his mother didn't mention anything because he would have stopped her from seeing Preston, and she felt that at least if she saw him she could keep an eye on him/ try to protect him? I can't imagine that she ever thought her son would abuse a child deliberately in the way that he had. - perhaps thought he was just rough because he hadn't learned how to handle a small child. I could definitely see JV storming off, shouting at her and abusing her verbally, cutting her our of their lives - and if the SW didn't find anything wrong, then that would have been the end of any chance she had of protecting Preston. As it happened the abuse was so horrifying that she had no chance anyway, but maybe she thought she did.

I'm not making excuses for her - I hope she has a lot of sleepless nights. She deserves them. I'm just trying to comprehend how she could have let this deliberate cruelty go unreported.

Hideous for the jury but they have to think about the little boy. Every single adult that poor child encountered let him down, it's their chance to get something right for him.
Not his foster parents!

But his foster mother was brushed aside when she tried to raise the alarm. I'll bet she and her husband are destroyed by this, all of the dreadful details. It's unbearable for us - that woman held him and loved him and comfort him for the best part of a year, and let him go to a couple she thought would do the same. This must have torn the heart out of her.

Unfortunately I've been feeling like all the info put out from the start has already been trying to suggest that the actual cause of death was suffocation/choking due to an oral sexual assault. Because that would then make sense as to why JV would claim Preston slipped underwater in the bath even though all he was obviously dry, when there'd be far more plausible cover stories ... unless he somehow needed to alert doctors that Preston had choked on or inhaled some kind of liquid (even if his own saliva) to get him the right emergency treatment.

Though I'd really love to be wrong for the sake of that poor baby 😞
This has been my thought from the very beginning of this trial, too. 😡

If that’s the case she failed spectacularly and shouldn’t be anywhere near another child for the rest of her miserable days. She’s a piece of tit like her son and his snivelling little boyfriend.

Not sure who else on this thread followed the Sara Sharif trial but she had bite marks on her body too. In that case they were there still when she died and the accused were asked to provide dental impressions. I wonder if that will be the case here or if the bruising on the photo isn't clear enough to do a comparison unless one of them has very distinctive teeth.
This is so depraved. They're not animals because although animals can kill their young they don't abuse them like this. This is unfortunately a very depraved human act and I wish this little boy had never ever met them. His poor foster carers. How dare JV cast aspersions on her ability to care for a baby
