Exactly they need to say how old the bruises on his head and everywhere else was cos if they are older she would have seen them then why didnt she flag it she should be guilty aswell.... as part of the adoption process she should have been vetted aswell if I seen my grandchildren with 40odd injuries I would be questioning where they all come from. She changed his nappy and bathed him that day unless he absolutely beat him to death when he got home.

Can anyone say if the medical interventions could cause any of these injuries when he was in resus etc?!?! My mind is blown evil pair of guys !

Just listened to The Trail - The Tragic Life of Preston Davey podcast.

It's bleeping harrowing. I'm typing away here and I'm weeping. That poor baby - how much pain he must have suffered; how FRIGHTENED he must have been. All those months of agony and terror.

The jury will never get over this. It'll haunt them all of their lives.

Also makes you think about her comments in hospital... it wouldnt have happened if he was with me and also not letting him hold preston.... she knew something and therefore should also be charged !

Oh look, can recall throwing the nappy out the window, how long he was out the room etc but can’t recall recording and rewatching a video he made on his phone of a baby dying. That selective memory is very familiar.

I know trial by jury is one of the cornerstones of our legal system, but the fact ordinary folk can be plucked off the street and forced to take part in the most harrowing trials really troubles me. Like you say, it will haunt them and yet they had no choice.

I was intubated when I was 14 for an emergency appendectomy. When I came round after the operation I immediately felt like I had phlegm in my throat and was trying to hack it up as I was still lying down, but it was from the intubation and lasted for a couple of days, so it can cause some minor harm. Preston however also had bruising in his mouth ☹ None of the bruises on him would have been caused in resuscitation attempts.

i Can’t bring myself to follow the trial closely, it’s too horrific. That poor baby.
However I am keeping up here so thanks everyone.
I wonder what the dynamics are like now, are they still together? Anyone been in court to see if they interact.
I wonder who the witnesses will be for the prosecution, I really hope someone speaks up for Preston.

Can anybody just turn up and sit in on the trial? It’s not far from me, I’d love to go (not in a weird way) but think it would probably anger me too much to see those vile pieces of tit in real life

I’m a cp social worker and I can tell you it amazes me when people discuss these cases and vehemently deny that there can be any preferences given to adopters and anyone involved with SS, as there are legal processes that must be adhered to by everyone.
It amazes me how people can be so naive.
The processes are only as good as the people implementing them.
The social worker involved in this case without a doubt is not following procedure and I suspect her line manager and the team throughout have poor monitoring of their staff.

Thank you for the insight. I have next to no knowledge of how things like adoption work but I understand that people are going to slip and let their natural biases through on occasion.

I very much doubt a case like this will be open to the public.

Thank you - this is especially significant that you, "in the trade" so to speak, have stated this. It's obvious, but so many people feel that because there are written safeguards they are always adhered to. To me the fact that she texted/e-mailed heart emojis tells the world that she wasn't acting in a professional manner.

I'm pretty sure it's open. The hearings were open anyway as someone on tiktok went. It's only not open if it's a child giving evidence for example because their identity would be protected
You can email/call the court to ask they're usually very helpful

Yeah you’re probably right. I feel I should clarify that I didn’t mean I’d love to go and watch it as though this is all just some juicy gossip. What I meant was, I find the criminal justice system fascinating and when I’m invested in cases like this one, I’d love to actually see the perpetrators being brought to justice. I feel my post may have been worded really insensitively and that’s the last thing I want.
Just felt I had to clear that up 😳

Didn't read like that, I'd be interested to see what it's like too.

No i knew what you meant it am exactly the same I find this case really interesting not in a disturbed kind of way. I also would like to go but I just doubt they would open the doors and allow public to attend I could imagine there to be uproar if they did.

He had a perforated bowel which they said had happened shortly before hospital admission. This alone is very serious and he would have needed to be hospitalised for this.

I would like to see those two to see their reactions.

And I would love to see them being questioned by the prosecution. They'll be eviscerated.
