I’m getting annoyed as I can’t find him saying it was a pointless video. I can’t have imagined it! I think it is where there’s a male officer saying to him that it’s very distressing but I only see a shorter clip of this now. Worth watching all those interviews now we’ve heard their current version of events! He doesn’t just say he doesn’t remember recording that video, he says “I don’t remember him being like that that day”. Absolutely insane lie.
I’m not sure whether it’s the reporting is just a bit bland or whether there’s good evidence in the bundle but a lot of questioning doesn’t seem to be really ”going in” on them.
I suspect (hope) that is because the summing up is going to nail discrepancies and absolutely go for it on how this is all clearly lies, so the rather average questions have laid out enough BS rope that they’ve hung themselves. Will have to see what the closing arguments/judges directions are like.

@RachAgnes I'm so very sorry for your loss. I can only imagine how anger provoking this case must be for you, to have these monsters use seizures as an excuse to hide their horrific behaviours. I hope you and your family can heal as well as possible over time.

If I were the prosecution I’d be rubbing my hands with glee, it must be such a rewarding, satisfying job when you just know you’ve got someone in a lie in court!
Of course a lot hasn’t been reported. How many photos and videos of Preston’s injuries and cruel experiences have the public seen? I think it’s also underestimated how powerful watching a defendant give evidence is. Even through the reports it’s very, very clear JMF is lying (as well as JV). How does that create any doubt? If he’s innocent, why on earth is he lying about multiple events?
I think usually reporting is a bit more detailed, although it’s fair enough here that it’s not. Also usually someone gets to view in the public gallery and tell us about the vibes on the ground etc.

It’s clear as day they’re both guilty IMO - also no question of doubt among the public either, unlike with Letby (even during the trial). I also don’t think I’ve seen the police/courts release police interviews to the public prior to the verdicts before - so they must be 100% on the strength of the evidence for both, as could this potentially be seen as prejudicial otherwise?
I will say though, I do also think it wont be a fast return of verdicts.
Because they have 25 bloody charges to go through for JV alone.
They will of course want to discuss each one but even if each one took 15 minutes, that's still over 6hrs for JV. I also think if i was a jury member I would want time to give my thoughts even if I was certain of my verdict. A 'get this off my chest' moment with the people who just sat through it all with me.

Peter Wright will almost certainly list the many discrepancies in their stories and assorted interviews when he sums it all up. There’s no question in my mind that both are guilty of everything they’ve been charged with and will be found guilty, and that includes JMF and the SA. Going by the interviews we’ve seen and the court quotes we’ve read - they both come across badly. Varley with his black demonic eyes looking and sounding on the verge of rage at having to answer questions about ‘the son’ he so clearly did not fvcking love is one thing. His terrible answers and blatant lies did the rest. JMF came across as a massive oddball in his weird creepy body language and very very obviously robotic answers, no emotion, little intelligence and overly detailed accounts of things that didn’t matter while lacking any detail at all on the important stuff. He also lost his temper in court which always appeals to a jury.

Yes sounds like it was the long bath video not the seizure from the day he died.
This is very interesting. Both quizzed about that vile photo on the cot bars, both accused of abusing him that day. But neither of them ever spoke about it with each other. They would just get home from being jointly accused of an awful SA and get on with making the dinner would they? No emotional aftermath of that accusation where they might ask, ‘what’s wrong’? Honestly the jury will know this just means JMF is a massive liar.
I know that we won’t see JV’s reaction when he is found guilty but I am sure his histrionics at the hospital will be nothing compared to that display. He will be crying his ‘sassy’ eyes out

This was the very last thing that was reported before they said he had finished giving evidence.
He supposedly just walked in on Preston sitting up but conscious with a lot of sickness. Why would he react like this? I expect this is true reaction on walking in to a dead baby and realising he’s in the tit.
