I’m surprised he didn’t take it to hospital. Just in this day and age, people grab phones/ keys before leaving don’t they? And given what we assume is them not panicking in the sense of any normal parent, they’ve had to think about what to do and say when they get there, I just assumed the phone would be with them. Unless of course it was left on purpose so they could be ‘it was so traumatic, we even left the phone/ shoes/ didn’t even lock the door’
Yep. Biggest mistake of his life. Because he didn’t have access to it he forgot he’d taken the video of Preston in respiratory distress just before he died.

I think it was a combination of that and well if they arrest me I won't have my phone on me, John can dispose of it when he gets home. He probably didn't think he'd be arrested the same night either, probably when the post mortem results were back, but not immediately.

There is definitely one “seizure” video that’s been deleted and it’s hard to tell if it’s the one from his death or not but I think it’s this one that’s recovered. They ask him why he deleted it in interview and he said it was pointless 🫥

Being a liar sounds so exhausting. No wonder they’re stressed with the continuous thinking about what they’re going to lie about next and concocting stories that don’t even make sense. Apart from JVs mum was any other family involved?

That's what astounds me about how brazen they were, JMF mentioned his grandma buying Preston the toy box and JMF's parents also saw Preston.

Another example of angry JV where he's witnessed yet another seizure and blaming someone else.

JMF is giving a lot of detail about JV pushing on his stomach and doing CPR on the stomach that wasn't mentioned in the police interview.
Maybe someone who has adopted can confirm, but I know someone who fosters and she had to attend a paediatric first aid course, so she knew what to do if a baby in her care needed CPR or whatever, is it the same for a couple who are planning to adopt?

Trying to find the interview where JV says he deleted the seizure video. Not found it yet but watched this one and when you put this into the context of the tit he’s told the jury! At no point does he say.. well I did put my fingers in his throat yeah or I was vigorously doing cpr on him. It’s total contrast to both their evidence on the stand.

Grr won’t let me post. If you google Jamie Varley police interview it’s from the 5th May on Manchester evening news.

Yeah, I feel 100% sure they both knew how to do CPR. Even my 6 year old would know to press the chest and not the stomach. 🙄

More bloody twizzling. Do the words twisting or twirling or rotating not exist in JV and JMF vocab.

JMF doesn't have any other witnesses and the expert witness pathologist didn't exactly give them a lot to use as a defence. I imagine closing speeches and judges summing up on Monday and then jury to deliberate.

Does anyone know how many instances JV was angry with JMF as I’m sure that will be a good indicator of how many times he assaulted Preston and probably when it started.

And I just can’t believe JV was running around like an idiot at the hospital, did he not understand that the medical staff were there for patients and not for ‘Jamie running around like a headless chicken’ he just has to be the centre of attention even as his adopted son is lying dead. Murdered at his hands (or other protruding part of his evil body). Yuck, they can both ‘twizzle’ from a long rope.

“The prosecutor says both men said Preston ‘twizzled’.

Mr Wright asks if it isn't a case that the men had ‘put their heads together’.”

PW pointing out what people have highlighted on here, they’ve rehearsed their account so much it’s obvious. I noticed he used the word again to describe Preston’s arms when he *may have witnessed a seizure. I think that’s deliberate to try and normalise the word, so people don’t think anything of it. It would have been interesting to see his demeanour here, and if the word was clunky in his mouth.

I can't bear to search for the answer, but is it known why the pair were arrested at the hospital, rather than , say, after a post mortem.

Was the nappy on the front ever recovered i thought JV said he done 3 nappy changes when he got out the bath why only one nappy thrown out the window i am sure I read somewhere that it was 3 nappies....

Is anyone convinced so far that these 2 are not guilty ?!?!

Preston’s death didn’t look like a drowning to the medical staff and he was bruised (staff said in testimony they could tell it was a slap) plus his previous visits made them call the police. I think they do call the police regardless though even if they believe the child has drowned, just to make sure it isn’t through neglect or abuse.

JMF said yesterday he found a nappy on the step and put it in the bin.

I know I keep saying it, but I really feel for the jury. I actually cannot imagine what they have had to sit through, looking at those evil guys, across from them, and listening to them. Not to mention the pieces of evidence they will have had to look at.

May justice be served for that poor little helpless baby, who suffered so much at the hands of evil.

I’ve just seen another video, body cam footage of what I assume is JMF telling someone on the phone what’s happened. There doesn’t seem to be an ounce of care in his voice. It’s like he’s telling someone about a non eventful journey home or something rich g. Then in the same reel is scene where JVs walking in the hospital just saying ‘it’s my fault’ or similar.., I wonder if any of the staff or police just instantly knew what they were dealing with.

We didn't do any CPR training. We had checks like window locks, cupboard locks and working fire alarms.

My son died at home from a seizure (many years ago) in his sleep, just before his second birthday. We had called an ambulance, and by the time we got to the hospital both my husband and I had separate police officers with us for all of the time we were at the hospital. They also removed my infant daughter and took her to the children's ward. Whilst we were at the hospital the police also conducted a search of our home, where they seized things like baby bottles that were waiting to be washed and his bedding. As my son had a history of repeated, prolonged seizures, confirmed by the doctors at the hospital, we were free to go once everything was over. So I can see how they were arrested immediately.

Just to say, all.of the above was done very sensitively - and it felt like my police officer was there to offer support, rather than to be 'watching' me
