I’m sure I read previously that there was something to do with JV and inappropriate images a few years before they adopted Preston but for some reason this was deemed inadmissible in court. Did anyone else read this? If it is the case I’m sure we’ll hear about it after the trial.

My suspicion is that although it won’t be children it will be the same extreme acts that killed Preston.

It was extreme pornography charges. JV said (or was asked about) that hidden folder which had sexual pictures of ex partners as well as JMF. But I can’t find the reference to exes now and I’m sure I saw it as I remember thinking I wonder if JMF knew he still had sexual photos of his exes. I wonder if it was edited, does anyone else remember it? Maybe I misread it like before!

The extreme pornography charge might be stuff like sexual acts while someone is unconscious. I don't think these acts against Preston came from nowhere I think it was a fantasy of his (and John's) for a while. There's sooo many pictures of Preston asleep (or unconscious) in various places and obviously the posed sexual positions

So am understanding this correctly - the massive rush to get to hospital when JMF arrived home that required no time to even put shoes on was not quite what it seemed ?
JMF was in the house 8 minutes before they left.
Sadly Preston would be dead by then and had been for some time.
What did they dispose of I wonder ? The nappy that I don’t think was ever found was one thing but I wonder if they stopped and dumped evidence ? The car telematics could prove something or they could easily have thrown stuff on the short route maybe.

JV seems very strategic about what images/videos he did or did not send his partner from his phone, and what info he shared with him. Part of me thinks he was implicating JMF if things went wrong or trying to paint a particular picture that he was so overwhelmed.
There's no doubt he was very angry about shouldering the bulk of the childcare, with JMF being away so much. He was also angry with the school because he wanted to be involved in exam invigilation /marking papers, and they hadn't done that.
He seems very attention seeking so it must have been a shock when he was not working but looking after a baby, with JMF working and away a lot. Was he taking out his anger on Preston and getting attention from the constant health issues at the same time?

Can someone explain the evidence against JMF for me? I feel like there's not a lot that's been presented other than "he was a caregiver and should have known". Also, the DNA on the cot. Has it said it's from semen in court or is the reporting softening the wording slightly? Could it be any kind of DNA? Saliva etc?

I’m just listening to The Trial podcast and I’ve got to the part where foster mum returns to court to clarify the whole “Free Willy” time, and honestly I’m almost in tears.

I’ve mentioned before that I’ve come into contact with foster mum professionally, and she is genuinely one of the loveliest people I’ve ever met. Hearing the lawyer question her practice, integrity, and essentially call her a liar has genuinely pushed me over the edge a bit.

I just need people to know that she is an incredibly upstanding woman, very well regarded in the community for being kind, compassionate, and utterly devoted to the young people in her care. She takes her role extremely seriously, but always with so much warmth and love.

I 100% believe she is telling the truth. I just really needed to say that.
I believe every word she says. She loved Preston, it radiates from her and I'm truly sorry that she is experiencing this.

Quoting from the previous thread:

If they were indeed fast tracked, or given preferential treatment (in terms of being given a baby rather than an older child), well, you’d have to wonder whether the agency thought it would reflect well upon them as an organisation, and help tick a few diversity boxes as well. Imagining the social media campaign they could run in a few years, encouraging more gay men to become adopters.

It would not surprise me one bit if there was positive bias towards a gay male couple, especially camp and “sassy” JV.
Why do we keep saying that they were "fast tracked" social services have their own timings for approval and it's about 8 months, though they very rarely meet this timing because adopters get overwhelmed, take breaks etc. a year is about average. There will obviously be outliers but I have an extensive adopters community and we were all done and dusted within 12 months.
You get approved for age groups and almost everyone wants 0-2 bracket. That's not unusual at all.

I thought the same, I had read on this thread that prestons bottom was a prolapsed mole. I googled it. Not posting it it is awful. If anyone was changing his nappy and saw that omg.

Also seizures, am I alone to have children and never heard of them having a seizure!?

Agree with this, my friends’ took about 9 months and I remember we were quite surprised at the time but she said the social worker said it’s quite normal and sometimes just works out like that. The baby had a previous adoption that had failed 😞 they were then offered a second baby (sibling) a couple of months after the first came home.

I know this is stating the obvious 🤣 but this man is just vile isn’t he? The way he speaks to people! Earlier in the thread “just make sure we exchange…” I can’t understand how he was so well liked at school

I'm pretty sure they do know it's semen DNA given the fact they think it is worth mentioning in court. JM-F's was on the cot. They use the term "sexual DNA" for the sample found on Preston's trousers, again JM-F's was on there.
He was being sent indecent photos of him, he lived at the same address when Preston had a bite mark on him, numerous bruises, his bottom was injured. His phone records prove he was at home when some of the abuse was taking place.
He saw him suspended by his neck, obviously deprived of oxygen, and didn't ring an ambulance.
He left Preston alone with JV again after that. He didn't raise the alarm a few days later when he got home and Preston was gravely ill, bone dry with a nappy on after apparently almost drowning in the bath. He then lied that Preston had been sitting up vomiting when he first arrived home and stuck to that lie.

I still struggle to understand how no alarm bells rang with the hospital staff!!
all the safeguard training shows the highest risk are children in care, non verbal babies and persons ..

After all that was learned following Victoria climbe, Daniel Pelka, baby P, just how was this baby missed
His foster mum raised concerns !
A well baby suddenly makes appearances in ED and no one suspects

Iv read some bits here and just listened to the podcast,

I think both will be found guilty and sentenced to a long period in jail.. my guess is there is an awful lot not being revealed.. there is no way two men can suddenly become dangerous peadophiles.. they would have some dark material on their phones or lap top
And this poor baby was sought for pure sick abuse .

I hope both these men are tortured and killed in prison much like Ian Huntley

I’m very much a supporter of prisons if they do the job of rehabilitation. If someone is in prison for a low level crime, ie burglary say, and they prove to be remorseful, and are released and never do anything criminal again, then the punishment’s worked. I wouldn’t want to be handing out death sentences to everybody, but what would be the point in keeping these two alive? Some people are past the point of changing and have done the most despicable thing to a baby. Why waste time and resource on them? There are people living among us who have these urges and do all they can to stop themselves hurting anybody. I’m not a PDF supporter but my god, I’d rather help those who want to be helped with the limited resource we have. Why do we have to leave them in the hands of another prisoner? Just get rid of the vile rum.

I think men who've been the breadwinner have long relied on saying they weren't aware of abuse or neglect in the home; but its gradually becoming clear this is in general a very old excuse, usually hiding something else (passive participation in abuse, drug use, sexual abuse.)
Alan Titford, Kaylea Titford's dad tried it and got an extra year.
There was also a tragic case in the U.S. of neglect of a 4 month old, Sterling Koehn (don't google, its very upsetting), in which the father claimed to be working long hours and unaware, saying he didn't change diapers (due to his 'sensitive nose and stomach'!) or feed the children. The prosecution were able to prove that his work log didn't match his employers records/pay, and that the size and layout of their apartment meant he would have heard and smelt the signs of neglect. Idk how it works from country to country, but you have legal and parental responsibility, and if you claim your partner is responsible for certain aspects of care, they will ask on the stand whether you were aware of infant care and would have engaged in it if you were aware of neglect or harm.
Unless JMF can argue he never engaged in care of Preston, which would harm the image they're trying to build of him, they'll presumably ask him about what he witnessed of the injuries Preston sustained and the texts he recieved (both JV complaining about Preston 'I strangled him' etc. and the photographs), and the onus is on him to explain why he wasn't alarmed by an infants anal prolapse or bite to his bottom.

Yes it definitely said there were pictures of exes too. Could have been on the pod? Definitely heard/seen that somewhere. I really think him saying “oh but I didn’t put Preston pics in the vault” is him telling on himself and reveals more than if he’d said nothing about it. It feels like somewhere along the way he’d thought about putting those pictures in there.
