JMF is a liar just like JV - I agree he wasn’t downstairs in the kitchen, he was present upstairs.
It’s going to implode next week as the story is full of holes and they now have the added pressure of what looks to be a cut throat defence.
That’s before the prosecution totally annihilate the pair of them.

Also we know now that during the cot suffocation photo evidence he had a very damaged bottom and at death he had it too.
The evidence around that abnormal anatomy is that this was a repeated occurrence.

Even without access to everything the jury are seeing and hearing, we as laypeople reading about all this seem to range from being baffled that JVs mum didn’t realise there was abuse to accusing her of covering it up for JV.. then it has to be 1000 times that suspicion or scrutiny for JMF! Living there day in day out. The jury will understand that with much more clarity.

Yeh, I believe JMF 100% involved. Like I said before, 2 gay men (or straight men/women) don’t just randomly decide to sexually abuse a baby & take keepsake pics of genitals / blatant post abuse shots. They are both paedophiles - JMF just more measured / in control of his outward presentation - actually more calculated & dangerous in that respect than JV - as he is managing to pull some wool over people’s eyes.

I read somewhere I am sure, from the first bit of trial reporting when it was a bit more graphic with the injuries, but now seems toned down, that the “abnormality” to Preston was a prolapsed mole along with tears and lacerations internally. No accidental drowning or medication causes that in a baby.

For the poster talking about the poor neighbours - The male neighbour commented on the Little Angels thread when they were first arrested. Said they didn’t like JV but JMF seemed alright - so JMF was still doing well as pretending to be normal human being

He also made reference to ‘their pathologist” so I am assuming there will be an alternative presented by that pathologist after both men have given evidence and being cross examined? I’m not even sure right now if JMF will take the stand you know

This has probably been said already, but I think
both pathologists have given evidence and actually agreed on quite a lot so having their own pathologist backfired.

Edited to add, maybe I'm confused because Dr Armour is a pathologist and Dr Gifford is a child sex abuse expert. These two woman agreed on a lot of things.
Is Dr Gifford also a pathologist?

I’m not sure Nick Johnson will call their pathologist to give evidence. A bit like what happened with Letby. The agreed facts seem to suggest the defence pathologist largely agreed with the home office forensic pathologist so even if there are a few points the defence pathologist can suggest alternative reasons for, NJ (can’t call him BNE here hero to zero… ) might not want to risk cross examination. It’s a strategy the defence are allowed to use.

Just catching up but they met in 2018 and moved in together very quickly but "officially" (whatever that means) in early 2019.

I don't understand how 2x men, who had only been together for about a year before they started the adoption process and who had very limited experience of children, were fast-tracked through the process and were selected to adopt one of the very few babies available for adoption?
Afaik, only 80x babies are adopted in the UK on average each year, I have known people going through the adoption process for years, some were unsuccessful, some adopted an older child - so why were these 2x men selected to have Preston?

Oh I think he showered away evidence whilst Preston lay dying. His hair looked freshly washed.

I think the point being made is that “seizure” he videos showed an incredibly ill baby and although he’s telling the lie that Preston miraculously not long after struggling for breath and grunting, had a happy bath sat up in his bath seat, you’d still be conscious that you could need to get him to a hospital/out of hours soon after an episode like that so would stay dressed and ready at 5pm.

I also noted that the same teacher friend he had previously told he’d been having dark thoughts about drowning and suffocating Preston (he says he was talking about his sister ), said that JV called her after Preston’s death and started the convo with “I promise I didn’t do anything” and she says that JV told her that he left the bathroom just to get a towel. Tells the police he left to get his pyjamas

I think as well that the sheer horror of what they inflicted upon this child indicates that it isn't the first time they've indulged in this sort of behaviour. Previously it may have been second-hand through child grape pornography, but this isn't the action of first-timers tentatively exploring their inclinations.

I knew I didn’t believe him but to see it in black and white gives me more hope the jury will be confident enough to be sure. Btw I saw the posts on fb from their neighbour, he seems an odd one and you would think he’d keep his mouth shut in case he was needed to give evidence.

This. I'm just hopeful the jury see through it because I think he has more of a case of reasonable doubt than JV.

Its difficult to keep track when it goes on for weeks so thank you to the posters who have spotted all the flaws in the story from JMF

It sounds like a healthy child who wasn't being abused every minute of the day could easily pull themselves up and fall out of the cot. So even basic, common sense safety was being ignored for Preston.

I was just thinking of the police interviews and the detectives sometimes say some outdated information which could sway a jury. For example they said Preston's DNA was found on the sex toys, maybe that was the thought back then but seems that's inconclusive now. And another one was saying to JV the abuse started when JMF went back to work, maybe they thought that initially but not now. I think initially they did not suspect JMF at all. Just something I noticed in the questioning

Yes - it sounds from all descriptions I've heard of this photo as though he was suspended by the way he was hanging over the cot bars by his arms, and his feet were not touching the cot. This is all just so horrific I am not sure I can take any more.

I think as well that the prosecution closing statement is usually quite powerful. Because they sum up exactly what the evidence shows in a clear way and the flaws in the defence. The evidence stage can be a bit disjointed as you are doing it by person / statement so it’s harder to fit it all together.

Then the judge does his summing up which is the evidence on both sides. Letby fans thought Judge Goss was biased as it made her sound guilty - but actually it proved that the prosecution evidence was strong and the defence was weak.

I know there is far more evidence against JV as he took all the photos and videos, but it doesn’t mean the evidence for JMF is weak.
