When did you start feeling your baby? I'm 19 weeks today and I think I've been feeling slight niggles and taps but this is my first baby so I'm not really sure what it feels like.
I've seen people describe it as fluttering but to me it feels like a slight muscle spasm?

I first felt him around 19 weeks and it never felt like fluttering to me, it felt like a fish jumping! I was probably as far along as 28 weeks when I started to feel movement that felt like anything other than that. He never really kicked either, he just elbowed me and somersaulted and shuffled from one side to the other, by the time he was born his movements looked so weird because he would shift his whole self from one side to the other, my bump was so lopsided because he was too big and didn’t have enough room 😅 He also went through a stage at around 30-35 weeks of flipping completely so he was lying transverse across the lower part of my bump, it used to be so uncomfortable when he did this! Also I was really paranoid about movement because he never had a really regular pattern, he had some days where he was constantly on the go and others where I barely felt him for most of the day. When they tell you babies settle into a pattern it does not always mean they move at exactly the same time ever day. He had a one day on and two days off pattern the whole time. Until I realised this at about 32 weeks I was in triage so much for movement…

Feeling so mentally crap the last few days. I’m currently quite overdue now and absolutely nothing is happening except horrific lightning crotch which has been going on for weeks and cramps here and there. I was induced the first time round and wanted to avoid it this time but it’s looking very likely. Feels pathetic saying it but I feel like my body is just failing me.

Honey I got to 42+1 before induction and I didn’t think it was humanly possible to be so fed up. Hours feel like days at this point I’m so sorry. The waiting game is awful and any tiny niggle your brain goes “ooh is this something?” but you tell yourself to not get excited.
Also if one more person says “baby comes when baby’s ready” 😡🖕🏼
Do what you can and complain all you like, you deserve it xx

im a few days behind you and probably started feeling movement about 2 weeks ago so 16 and a bit weeks. At first I wasn’t sure what it was but it feels a bit like tapping, bubbles or butterflies but right down where baby will be in my pelvis. It’s a weird sensation! It’s definitely hard to tell at first and I’m quite slim so think that’s why I was able to feel the movement so early. Sometimes I don’t feel much at all! Sometimes now I’m further along it feels like a sharp tap/jab.

thank you!! eeek how exciting for you ! It’s so nerve wracking but the relief you feel when you see that little baby blob on the screen is like nothing else 🩷

I had a semi full bladder and it was perfect !

our scan was at 8:30 this morning so I had a wee when I woke up , then had my usual (massive) morning cuppa and then on the way to the scan I drank a 500ml bottle of sprite (which wasn’t actually the plan but it’s what my husband got me from the garage … and baby was sooo active and jumping around so I wonder if it was the fizzy) !

basically I got myself to a point of feeling like I could go but I wasn’t desperate !

this is my third baby and therefore my third dating scan ! The first time I was literally bursting for a wee and they made me go and empty half of it ! So I would say don’t be desperate but definitely drink something beforehand :)

Ha I went too hard on the water and nearly wet myself. I had to go do a half pee (who knew) and then during the scan my bladder was too big and I had do another quarter pee. So yea maybe not quite as much as what I had (about a litre an hour before 😂)

I’ve been popping in and out of this thread for a while now but haven’t posted as didn’t want to jinx myself!! However I can finally shout it from the rooftops that I am pregnant! 12 weeks and 3 days 🥰.
I had my first scan today and honestly I have never ever felt as anxious as I have the last few weeks waiting for today.

I haven’t had any huge symptoms no morning sickness etc so apart of me felt like I’d made it up in my head, I had also suffered a early miscarriage before so I was convinced something would be wrong.

Thankfully little bean was wiggling around as clear as day and all is well.

I am over the moon and have been waiting for this moment for such a long time I’m 37 and been TTC for a good 3 years.

Now debating whether to have an early gender scan at 16 weeks. Anybody else done this and was it all ok? X

Congratulations! I'm a little behind you, at 9 weeks today. I'm feeling the anxiety having to wait for the first scan but I have my initial midwife appointment next week so hoping for some clarity then even if it's just them hearing the heartbeat or something 🤞

I'm very tempted by an early gender scan as well - we have a clinic just around the corner that offer it at 15 weeks so, same as you, would love to get other people's thoughts/experience with it 😊

Ahh congrats to you as well! Not to much longer now for your scan I really get the anxiety and I can’t even give you any advice to make it better because I was a mess no matter what I did 🤣.

I definitely felt a little reassured after my first midwife appointment and it felt more real when I got my blue folder of notes!

Yes we have a scan place close by as well I think it’s around £80 for a gender one which I think is pretty reasonable. X

Congratulations!! 🥰

I had an early gender scan with both pregnancy’s. Both went absolutely fine. My first pregnancy I found out bang on 16 weeks and this pregnancy I found out just after 17 weeks because they done a rescan. They said they thought it was a boy (it is) which we also noticed during the scan but wanted to be sure. The rescan was actually a nice bonus in the end ☺ I also found it reassuring to have that scan inbetween the 12 and 20 week scan because they check over baby too x

Has anyone has regular growth scans? My bump is measuring 4cm behind (28cm at 32 weeks) I lost a lot of weight in the first trimester with sickness and basically have had nausea without vomiting throughout pregnancy and am active so haven't gained much weight and now I am feeling awful about the impact on baby. We had a scan 3 weeks ago where baby was 13th centile... So just hope baby is ok again today..my midwife didn't seem too concerned about the lack of weight gain

Having regular growth scans, had one at 32 weeks, 36 weeks then 40. Had them with my last baby too as had GD! They’re really reassuring to have and you get the sonographer report after so you can track how they’re growing. The sonographer will also usually give a brief rundown of the results which is always nice ❤ my first when he was born was a small baby but has been thriving ever since and is now a chaotic 2 year old, some women just have small babies!! It is stressful though when you’re pregnant and being told this and all the risks/worst case scenario 🤗

27 weeks pregnant and I keep getting hip spasm / pain! It’s so annoying and I’m sure I didn’t have this until almost 37 weeks with my first. Does anyone have any tips for alleviating the pain?

Also what are people’s thoughts on bump belts/bands? Any good recommendations

Found out yesterday we’re having a boy. Baby is on the 92 percentile though which is making me feel like I need to cut down massively on the chocolate 😰
