It sounds so stupid I know because I’m creating a whole new life but I’m really struggling with the thought of weight gain this pregnancy. Before I found out, I’d lost 3 stone in a year and finally started feeling good about myself. I weighed myself today and at 36 weeks I’ve gained 11-12lbs which I know is pretty good going considering but the thought of feeling so crap about myself after birth scares me, especially in the lead up to summer as well.
A lot of this will be baby, fluids & placenta etc. I feel the same I am currently 23 weeks & have put on over 2 stone after losing 7 stone pre pregnancy. It does really mess with your head! I’ve tried to avoid weighting myself as much. I dread to think what I’ll weight by 40 weeks 🫣

Hey, what does round ligament pain feel like to you? I've been having lots of sharp pains and slight cramping, it's quite intense when it happens it goes away quick enough, I've had two miscarriages so I feel like I'm on high alert. I'm 14+3.
It is definitely worse when I'm moving around x

Yeah sounds like round ligament pain. Doesn't last long maybe a second or so but can take your breath away or make you go ouch. As it can be quite a sharp pain

I have a proper ache on my hips and pelvis, especially if I haven’t moved in a while. Spoke to my midwife last week and she thinks I have round ligament pain. At times I feel like I have a cramp then it goes. She has told me to take paracetamol when I’m sore, also giving a belly bad a go if I’m on the go

I get so much RLP (it's a bugger) and it feels like I've really suddenly and quickly overstretched a muscle, if that makes sense. The dead give away is that it pretty much only happens when I move, it doesn't normally happen at rest (though definitely can).

Does anyone have any experience with a baby that just doesn't move much? Like I said, I've been to triage twice now because she just doesn't seem to do much most days. OH says she kicks early in the morning (about 5:30am when I'm dead asleep) and she often has a good roll and kick about 10pm at night before I go to sleep but during the day I get very little. I think today she kicked a bit about 10am, then a little when I was driving to my parents about 3pm, and a few rolls at 6pm but not much else. Sometimes she goes absolutely bonkers for about 20 minutes too but it's not very frequent. I'm 27+2 now and I really expected to have a good pattern. When I went to triage last week for it the midwife said it's probably because second pregnancy (and not being funny, but I'm carrying a lot more weight than I did in my first too). I just don't know whether to keep knocking on triage doors asking about it or if I'm being impatient?

I do recognise that my anxiety is much higher about baby girl this time round, with my first I was so shook up with the idea of a life change I barely worried about whether he was ok because I spent so much time thinking about how awful life with a baby would be (like a complete nobber). This time round it feels like all that anxiety about the changes has gone into worrying that she's doing the right thing and I'm doing the right thing.

Where is your placenta? I ask because mine is anterior this time and when I was at triage for reduced movements, my husband seen my stomach move but I never felt it. You could hear on the monitor baby moving but again I didn’t feel a thing. I was 34 weeks so baby wasn’t small either. Regarding pattern I’ve been told not every baby has a pattern it’s more just what you’re used to 🤷🏻‍♀️ Some babies move loads and others not so much. If anything worries you though I’d definitely contact triage, they won’t have any issues in seeing you, better to be safe than sorry and to put your mind at ease too 😊

BabyA was never hugely active in the day because I was on my feet all the time at work so I would send him off to sleep! I would feel him pretty reliably at similar times to what you’ve described down to the bonkers 20 minutes sporadically! I went into triage so much for reduced movement and he would always go mental as soon as they put the CTG on me, happened every time! It was only the last month or so of pregnancy I felt him move regularly during the day and could see him movie in the day - it was only ever usually in the evenings for ages. In my case I think it was because he turned out to be quite big and didn’t have much space in there! He never had a proper pattern either beyond 5:30am and some movement in the evenings, he’d often have a really busy day where I’d feel him loads and then a day or two when he’d be quieter and barely move at all in the day - was always tricky explaining this to the midwives who said baby should have a pattern of kicks after 28 weeks!

Does anyone have any recs for bump-friendly dresses? I’m 12 weeks (almost) and at 23 weeks I’ve got a baptism to go to. I was a Séraphine fan girl in my last pregnancy but they are no more / have been bought by Next and there’s nothing I like. Nobody’s Child have a fuschia Lola dress but it’s open back and not sure if it’s appropriate.

I was a Seraphine fan too with my last pregnancy! There’s a lot from there on Vinted so might find something you like on there? Also Isabella Oliver (I’ve only ever bought the brand off Vinted but omg so lovely and if you’re a Seraphine kinda gal then that may be worth looking into)

Id definitely look on Vinted for Seraphine. I’ve just sold a few bits on there and there was loads available!

I bought loads of Seraphine on Vinted. Also love Busby and Fox dresses, not cheap new but I’ve picked up a couple on Vinted for £30 or so. I get the Rococo style which are v neck and plenty of room for bump because of the style. I wore one for my nephew’s christening at 25 weeks pregnant but sized up for pregnancy - I would usually have a S which is a generous 10 but got M for bump!

Thanks guys!

I was convinced my placenta would be anterior but at our 20 week scan they said it was posterior and in the 'right' place which is what concerns me a bit. Yesterday she was kicking or rolling without fail every few hours, from 6pm to about 2am it felt like she didn't stop (I had another terrible nights sleep) but again today she's been so quite, I've felt her roll and do the odd kick occasionally but nothing like yesterday. My bump is constantly tight again today as well (happened a lot with first baby). It was like this in the middle of the week too - very little movement on Wednesday/Thursday then she went a bit mental for hours on end on Friday. Sometimes her kicks and movements are so faint as well, like they were 6 or so weeks ago, but yesterday it felt like 'normal' (though a lot!). I think some of the trouble is she seems to kick really low down so if I feel it it's just above my bladder rather than my stomach if that makes sense?

My bump is so tight this evening too
