I’m nearing the end now and oh my goodness the fan daggers are something else!! I don’t recall this at all with my first at all

Exciting on the gender scan! I stopped taking folic acid at 12 weeks because my midwife told me there is a study which links it to tongue tie?! I now just take Vit D.
Ohhh really I've never heard of that, I'll keep taking my vit D though as you say, xx

Am I right to go full nuclear? I just asked my OH if he could bring me a snack - fruit and yogurt to be precise, to which he replied “yes but you need to start doing some exercise”. I beg your finest pardon?! I’m hungry permanently, bone-achingly tired and already self-conscious and don’t need reminding by a bozo who went on one run and now thinks he’s holier than thou.

I don’t condone violence but kick him in the balls then tell him to man up. Or if that isn’t your thing, maybe cook some food and then as you go to offer it put it in the bin and tell him he needs to diet. Yes I’m petty but also just at the stage where everything makes me rage so 😂

Not going to lie my fuse would not handle that.
My husband made a comment the other night he felt 10 months pregnant as he had some bloat and if I was able to I would have fly kicked him. I had just been in tears over how much pain my hips were feeling, so his comment was not appreciated

He’s a very brave/stupid man. Delete as appropriate.

Well that’s bloody outrageous. Kick him really hard in the balls…

Well I am relieved … we had a private scan today (7+4) … baby is in the right place , there’s only one (thank god .. this is our third) and we got to see a little heartbeat !!!

at the moment I’m measuring 7+2 which makes a lot of sense as I ovulated around day 16 of my cycle . But they did say baby could catch up . It’s only 2 days off LMP anyway so not a huge deal .

i am so relieved and thrilled !!!

Thanks everyone for taking my side! He has since apologised and said he didn’t mean it in a “you’re large” way and was allegedly supposed to sound encouraging… I’ve since demanded more snacks because I’m a bottomless pit

I'm 14+2 today and I'm suffering with nausea and vomiting, I've been so lucky up until the 11th week and then it hit me like a train the last few weeks!
Trying to remember it's all worth it but it's hard right now x

Any tips for pregnancy insomnia and achey/restless legs? I have started taking magnesium but I don't think it is making any difference. I barely slept last night and work 4 days a week and have a toddler. Send help!!!
No idea, if I find anything I'll let you know! I had to call in sick on Tuesday because I genuinely didn't sleep for more than an hour Monday night and I was exhausted.

Another week, another trip to triage for itchy hands/feet. Bile acids still under 6. I feel like I'm making it up but I don't know what to do about it. There's so little information about it online. I want to know if recurrent episodes means it's likely to develop or if I need to be watching the blood results to see if they rise? But hey, now I'm over 26 weeks I get to go on the CTG... joy...

I've been having horrible Braxton Hicks style tightness this afternoon, it's so painful. Honestly this pregnancy is so hard and I think I'll need a frequent flyer ticket with triage soon!

I feel like I spent most of my pregnancy in triage, I had a big baby I didn’t realise was big until he was born so I kept worrying about reduced movement when I think he just didn’t have room! In fact twice I was referred for extra growth scans and we were told both times BabyA was 25th centile so pretty tiny - when he was born he was on the 75th and had gone up to the 91st for weight at his 10 day check 🙈 he’s levelled back out at 75th now 😅

I also had a cervical ectropian so was in for bleeding all the time from about 23 weeks onwards…they didn’t realise what was causing it until I was about 33 weeks either so that was fun…🙄

I only went three times with my first (1 time for reduced movements, twice for bleeding, second time led to admission and his induction) so having been now 4 times at 26 weeks is a bit daunting! I hate this part of pregnancy, especially after what happened the first time round where everything fell down on us like a house of cards. Feels like I'm just waiting for it to go wrong :(

That must be horrible, I’d feel super worried too! Maybe you’re being more cautious after your last experience? If it’s any reassurance at all I think we probably had more than 12 visits to triage from 23 weeks onwards and BabyA was fine!

It sounds so stupid I know because I’m creating a whole new life but I’m really struggling with the thought of weight gain this pregnancy. Before I found out, I’d lost 3 stone in a year and finally started feeling good about myself. I weighed myself today and at 36 weeks I’ve gained 11-12lbs which I know is pretty good going considering but the thought of feeling so crap about myself after birth scares me, especially in the lead up to summer as well.

It is hands down the worst part of pregnancy. Can you get something prescribed? I found metoclopramide helped take the edge off a bit.

I could have written this myself. Had a big ol’ cry today because I feel so awful in my body, am constantly hungry and feel faint at any minor exertion and I just know i’m going to feel horrendous by full term. All we can do is keep telling ourselves we’re creating life and our body isn’t really our own right now!
I often feel bad because I wanted nothing more than to get pregnant and as soon as I did my mental health went in the bin and i’ve been unhappy the whole time.

I hope you’re able to give yourself some grace, and know that you’ll lose the baby weight and have your old body back soon

I get this when I don’t drink enough water - make sure you’re drinking lots of water x

Just want to say it’s absolutely okay to desperately want to be pregnant and hate being pregnant. Just because you feel crap and miserable and huge and don’t enjoy actually the physical side of being pregnant, it doesn’t mean you’re not also grateful, I don’t think they’re mutually exclusive! When I was pregnant the people who claimed to love it used to drive me mad because I really did not love it! No shade og course if you are someone who loves it, I honestly love that you love it really, I just did not love it 😅 I felt so anxious all the time and tired and heavy and slow! I’m also a teacher and worked right up until 38 weeks which I regret now as I was too knackered to enjoy the run up to Christmas and had issues with my blood pressure in the final week which meant I spent the second week of my mat leave in and out of hospital before BabyA was born.

Not sure what the point was to this ramble but just know it’s okay not to love pregnancy!

also in the same boat re body image !! I’m already a size 16 so a bigger lady and in my last pregnancy I put on 2 stone 😭 I just don’t want the same to happen again . I already feel so bloated and like I’m showing already . My jeans don’t do up comfortably and I’m only just shy of 8 weeks 🫠

it’s so hard but I think 11-12lb at 36 weeks is good !! And a lot of that will be water retention and fluid and stuff and will drop back off once baby’s here , promise 🩷
