I hate the heat as it is so not coping hugely well even though I’m only 15 weeks . I’m so pleased that I’m due in November so by the time I hit the third trimester we should be out of the woods with heatwaves . My firstborn was born in July and we had a horrible heatwave about 3 weeks before he was born . It was hell on earth being that pregnant in the heat

trying to convince my husband that an aircon unit would be a solid investment but he’s not quite sold 😅
We have aircon in our house and its the best investment we've ever made. We are moving soon and we are 100% getting it in our new house before we move

We are hoping end of next year/early 2028 that we’re going to do quite a large extension on our house (should funds allow!) … and I really want aircon fitted while we have the work done it just makes sense timing wise . I’ve looked and to fit it in our bedrooms and what will be our new kitchen/dining/living room looks to be about 12k …. And I mean when you’re remortgaging and going to be spending 100k on an extension , what’s an extra 12k ? 🤣

Exactly! I think we were just quoted over 25k for the new house but we made a profit on the house sale (thank you London prices!) so it’s basically free 😂

Bloody hell I hate my GP practice . They were already on my list because of how rude they’ve been to me on the phone in the past but today they’ve wound me up even more

so at my booking appointment about 6 weeks ago , I was put on 150mg of aspirin a day as I had preeclampsia in my last pregnancy . I need to take this up to 36 weeks . My midwife gave me 2 boxes at the booking appointment and said she’d put through to my GP that I needed these on a repeat prescription as I’ve got to take them up to 36 weeks . At the same time she put through a prescription for folic acid (as I needed to take a little more due to my BMI) . Got the folic acid fine so I assumed the aspirin would also be no problem

anyway I’ve got about 5 days of aspirin left so today I went onto the NHS app to request a repeat prescription and low and behold it was not there . So I called the GP and explained and the receptionist was so rude . Bear in mind I have anxiety and I was extremely polite on the phone about what I needed . She told me that I can’t ring up and “demand” prescriptions without recommendation from my midwife … but my midwife sent it over with the folic acid one so I know they got it

anyway I rang my midwife and she said she’d absolutely sent the recommendation over , she was as cross as I was 🤣 she resent it and highlighted it as urgent and I’ve just checked and it’s now on the app and I’ve been able to request it

but bloody hell , what a saga . I wish I could change GPs but it’s done on postcode in our trust so you don’t really get a choice

Going for a growth scan - how long do these normally take to book? Bump measured at 97% percentile yesterday but was 50th in my last appointment and 55th in my last triage visit (I strongly suspect she measured a bit too low on my pelvis, and baby was sitting high). Just wondering what kind of timeframe I'll be looking at. I'm 35 weeks tomorrow.

My trust do them urgently. The most recent one I had, I was booked in for the same day. Otherwise it is within 1-2 days. Perhaps call up and ask?

Has anyone lost of maintained weight during pregnancy? I’m 21 weeks, started at 13st 4 which was still above my normal weight😭😭 and so far I’m 14st 6, so already at 1st 2 pound gain. Is there any way I can slow it down a bit without affecting baby?

Have a look at a low GI diet. I follow that 80% of the time, I'm 37 weeks and have gained 3lb. Baby is healthy and happy, hasn't affected him at all.

Oh I’m sorry to hear you’ve waited so long. Maybe give the screening midwives a ring tomorrow?
Thankyou, I will do that tomorrow! Can I also ask you about the early anatomy scan at 16 weeks do you have to go private as I haven’t heard about this??

Hey lovelies, long time no speak!

I'm now 29 weeks and have my baby shower in a few weeks - I've started an Amazon wish list, but it's so overwhelming! Any advice on what I should ask for? I've got a variety of people attending from close family and friends to people who have known me since I was a baby, so I don't want to seem cheeky but we want all the help me we can get if that makes sense?

Most items we already have, but it's the more practical bits / baby care bits we're thinking of, and I'm someone who thrives with a list 😂

Practical bits that don’t take up a lot of space that you’ll use when baby is slightly older, as you’ll still need to buy them, but won’t come out of crap maternity pay? Weaning bowls and spoons, messy mat, teething toys like the matchstick monkey, toys suitable from 3 months and up like the o ball toy and other tummy time toys, bibado bibs (highly recommend these - they’re pricey but the absolute best). These kind of things don’t cost a lot individually but all adds up when you’re buying stuff!

Just got the appointment through now, it’s booked for next Thursday, so I’ll be nearly 36 weeks.

This happened with my first too, they freaked out at 35 +3 weeks that he was too big, organised a growth scan but it didn’t get booked until a week or more later and I’d had him by the time my appointment came round.

Highly recommend something like the Baby Bjorn bouncer, they’re very pricey brand new (£200!) but you could ask for some money to buy one second hand, they often pop up on facebook marketplace for <£60. Absolute godsend for when they get a little bigger and you want some hands free time!

Is it the NIPT results you’re waiting for or the combined screening?
I had a higher NT measurement at my 12 week scan so under fetal medicine.

I had the combined screening but they didn’t say anything was unusual about the measurement just to wait for the blood test, makes sense now thankyou
