Is it your first? my midwife was like back to back is unlikely to work since it's my first. I have no idea if baby might have turned.

I'm tired of people asking me *when* will baby be here. I've told them baby as not shared his schedule with me. I'm doing fine, baby is fine, I'm not 40 weeks yet... what's the effing rush?
Nope my second. I think she was so chill because I’m still only 34 weeks and things can change.

Yes I’ve noticed this a lot. I helpfully got told that I am huge and loo ready to pop. Now I’m the first one to hate on my body so the fact that I think I’m looking pretty good is surprising me. I do wish people would stop telling me all about everyone else’s early babies and even on social media there’s people due in sept saying they’re done and they want the baby now.

I asked if baby is back to back at my 37w appointment and the doctor said she’s not but it is completely irrelevant as the baby can actually spin around even during the labour. It’s not like being breech where they run out of space to turn.

Really disappointed to have my first appointment with the midwife after booking at 19 weeks and be told they don’t do Doppler scans any more. I get why because of the anxiety but I loved hearing Baby Lavas’s heartbeat last time 💔 I also now don’t have my next appointment until 28 weeks. Seems like forever away. We lived in a different health board last time and the care seemed so much better.

Oh shame! You get a few more appts when it’s your first don’t you? My first doppler experience ended up with me in maternity triage because my son is really naughty, so I sort of dread when they get it out but ever since they’ve found him right away. He was having a wild party on Wednesday morning, absolutely loving his life in there in his breech position 🙄🙄🙄

MrDragName is obsessed with the idea that our lad is coming early. And it seems to be filtering into my work life because everyone’s asking me if I’ve packed my hospital bag. Of course I haven’t 🤣 I’m working till I’m 37.5 weeks so… he needs to stay put!

My first came at a day before 38 weeks and had to stay in hospital for 5 days - so I’m keen to get as close to 40 as poss (without going over as they want to induce me as I’m old and decrepit and a size 16….) 😂

My obstetrician’s notes said he’d prefer if I had given birth by 40+6 I think it was, with sweeps from 39 weeks. All of that depends on whether the boy wonder can do one somersault and wedge his massive head in my pelvis 🤣 (he apparently has a massive head because it has so much space to grow. I’m envisioning Mr Mackie from South Park when he smoked weed…)

Been lurking for ages and thought I would finally pop my head up and say hi! And also ask a question 😂 currently 17 weeks and saw the midwife yesterday, got to hear the heart beat for the first time which was amazing! But they did a urine sample and apparently it was really positive for nitrites so I may have a UTI. I’ve had literally no UTI symptoms and feel totally fine. Anyone else had this at all? They’ve sent a sample but said I may need antibiotics which seems kind of crazy if I’m well but I guess it can be a risk to the baby if you have an infection? Pregnancy truly is wild!

I had this in my first pregnancy. I felt totally fine and had no pain when urinating or back pain where my kidneys are. I just took a course of antibiotics. Your body does crazy things while pregnant. That was my first ever uti and also taking antibiotics. Infections are unpredictable - they can clear up on their own or they can suddenly worsen - so personally I’d just take the antibiotics and help my body to fight it off. It’s already working overtime growing a baby xx

ahh for sure, deffo will take the antibiotics! Totally crazy all the stuff that happens in your body isn’t it 😬 reassuring to hear I’m not the only one. feel like I should be grateful that I’ve been so well so just taking some antibiotics is the worst that’s happened to me so far!

Not while pregnant, but I do have painless UTIs. Only symptom was pee seemed weird (change in smell, but cannot really describe the smell). This was a PITA because I was sick and was constantly send back home, one time it crawled up to my kidney and only believed me when I was back vomiting non stop.

The latest pregnancy symptoms for me are puffy AF ankles and loads of pins and needles in my hands, particularly my dominant hand. To the point where I was, and brace yourself for this level of sexiness, struggling to pluck my beard this morning because it was turning to mild numbness in my fingers. The beard I’ve had for years thanks to PCOS but assumed would vanish when I fell pregnant. NOPE. 🤣🤣🤣 fair play to the women who have those pregnancy shoots where they’re basically artistically naked. If you get this far along and look and feel that good I totally understand why you’re stood in a studio with all your bits and bobs out 🤣🤣🤣

Not long back from a midwife appointment where I barely got as much as eye contact from her never mind any chat or information or interest. I entered the room and said hello, and was handed a pot to pee in by her right hand while her left hand and focus was on her computer. I came back into the room with my sample and she told me to leave it in the sink, where about 8 other samples were sitting- none with any identifying info as to who they belonged to. I said, how will you know which is mine?? She said I’ll know, I've a good little system going on ?? I said I’ll leave mine slightly to the side so you’ll know, and she ignored me. Seriously, how the hell is she going to know whose sample was from which person as they were all blank pots with no names on them. She could not have cared less. Got to listen to the heartbeat by Doppler for about eight seconds before she handed me a breastfeeding leaflet and booked me in again (yay) for 8 weeks time. Seriously disappointing and dismissive.

Nah, none of that is ok. Give the unit a call and ask to speak to a senior midwife about it. You could have had things you really needed to talk about today, you could have had concerns, you could be in the midst of a perinatal mental health crisis, all sorts and she would have missed all of that and that’s not ok. You deserve better, that’s not even a minimum standard of care.

I had a Doppler at my 16 week appt, I didn’t know until reading on here and watching some TikToks that it isn’t normal practice! I have my next appt now post 20-week scan at I think 25 weeks, but we do have an extra scan at 32 weeks to see if the placenta is still low…

I swear the boy is on the move. I think he’s somewhere between being transverse and rolled up in a ball. The top of what was my bump seems kind of empty, I have quite a solid ‘lump’ over on my right hand side that feels like it might be his head. I dunno if I should get myself back upside down off the sofa again a couple of times to see if it helps….

Put in a complaint. That’s horrific behaviour. Some people really shouldn’t be allowed to “care” for others!

This is exactly mine. I thought the solid lump was a bum but apparently it’s knees as lil muff is back to back. I’ve got a scan on Friday so I’m keen to know what the eff is going on.

I think he moved back 😭 but he does seem a bit lower, wouldn’t say my bump has dropped though. I don’t need him getting his little bum stuck in my pelvis!

Baby rock is here. Head too big so natural delivery failed, csection it was. Apparently I developed pre eclampsia at some point this last 2 weeks.
