I bought a Jojo mama swimsuit in my normal size and it’s fab it accommodates my massive boobsAdvice needed please… going on holiday end of June for 2 weeks (booked beforehand, not sure how pregnant me is going to cope with the heat). I will be 17-19 weeks. Swimwear - do I buy the same size and hope it will stretch or do I size up or do I buy maternity sizing?
was it an early morning appointment and had you had much to eat before?ketones in urine should I be worried? Guessing it wasn’t too much as midwife didn’t seem that bothered by it but this is the first time it’s happened so confused
I’m so sad someone else got a battering at work. I am sort of glad I wasn’t alone but I would rather neither of us had this happening! Are you me lol or are we the same person? Had the same weekend work SHITE all weekend and I’m pissed off going in tomorrow which is never a good sign
They need to back off you or get some additional help for you!
Getting ill when pregnant is horrendous! I really hope you start feeling better soon. XMy husband got me coke yesterday for this exact reason as I can't stomach the taste of bile.It makes it a lot less grim. I'm counting the hours until I can get home
I had one with my eldest at 28 weeks, my 2nd at 24 weeks and this baby last week at 31 weeks. The one at 28 weeks was definitely the best and more clear scan. They do say 28 weeks is the best time to have them done.Has anyone had a 4D scan and if so what week did you have this at?
Is this true? I was going to get my nails done this weekend 🫣The other one I was told was ideally they prefer you not to have nail polish on in case you end up in theatre unexpectedly
My bump came along very quickly this time. I’m a 12-14 on top and 16 in trousers. But live in leggings because society doesn’t believe in trousers for women who have big bums and thicc thighs! My leggings quickly got to be uncomfy as the day went on. I already look 6 months pregnant so I’m a little bit worried about the later stages. With my first, I’d didn’t have a bump at all until around 5 months.I’m 16 weeks on Wed and I have started to recover from being the most tired I’ve ever been through the first trimester. That really took me by surprise!
I have had a week away and obviously I ate like an absolute piggy, so I am sure I put on weight anyway but I feel like my bump has developed a little, so a trusty pair of work trousers this morning felt a bit snug and uncomfortable. They were an excellent fit and quite flattering before I was pregnant/only a few weeks into pregnancy, I thought I’d have more time in them. I’m generally a size 18-20 anyway so I don’t have much room for just going up a standard size on the cheap. I’ve bought a few maternity bits off Vinted but mostly tops where trousers might have been more sensibleI bought maternity jeans but I can’t wear jeans to work everyday and I think they’ll currently be too big because let’s face it, I have a LONG way to go. I do like a floaty dress and I can probably get away with the ones I own for a while but I live in a windy place so it’s always a risk
. I do have to turn up to places face to face sometimes and look vaguely presentable. Any tips?
I’ll bookmark this post to come back and laugh at myself when I have a REAL bump![]()
Did he fit into newborn clothes by any chance? I’ve packed only newborn in my hospital bag but now I’m reconsidering 🫣My first consistently measured above the 97th centile. He was 8lbs 11oz when he was born so not quite as big as they expected!
My nose doesn’t bleed too much but it’s very snotty and what comes out of my nose basically always has blood in it. Thankfully the ladies on this thread calmed my early pregnancy meltdown by assuring me a Vicks nasal inhaler thing was safe and that has at least made my sinuses less choked. I’m dreading my usual hay fever season as I normally survive on tablets, nasal spray and eyedrops all at once!I went to the doctor because my nose kept bleeding every other day when blowing it. Gave me pregnancy safe antihistamines for my 'hormonal rinitis' and cauterize the nose.
For heartburn the easiest but yuckiest is to straight up suck a pinch of table salt.
Your baby, your decision. Everyone else can absolutely shove it up their arses.***advice or condolences needed***
this probably sounds trite but both my mum and sister have separately at the same time been messaging me about baby namethey are both brutally honest and my mum has said she doesn’t like any of my suggestions but then followed it up with why so I’m left with connotations.
I haven’t told either of them our final couple of name choices but it’s given me such anxiety.
My sister has given me a list of acceptable names I can use (old fashioned which isn’t my vibe) and when I said one name she told me absolutely not and said her kids she teaches called her daughter that.
I even had a nightmare about names last night
Both my mum and sister are saying the other shouldn’t be so judgy or influence me (when that’s exactly what they’re both doing)
They’re not people you can stand up to and I’m really all for making everyone happy and not causing friction.
my name choices we like
Sofia - no apparently it’s too like Sophie
Eloise - no it’ll be shortened to El (we already have an El in the family)
Seren - hated, no reason givenjust hated
The two names I have not told them (because they will HATE and I don’t want to hear it) I’ve kept under wraps.
I should have just said not discussing it but that was my foolish error.
I know I shouldn’t care but it’s really got to me, possibly hormones aren’t helping.
I just feel a bit lost about it all.
This is a much wanted baby after several
Miscarriages and I am high risk. So I am probably focussing on something trite to worry about.
Sorry to moan and rant I just feel deflated x
Thank you! It’s just annoying because of my BMI I should take higher strength folic acid and my GP won’t prescribe unless the midwife contacts them but I don’t currently have a midwifeI did the self-referral on a Thursday (when I was estimated at 4 and a bit weeks) and had the call to arrange the booking appt a week and a half later, booking appointment was 9 days after
however probably massively depends on your trust and also I had the Easter bank hol in the middle of all that
Congratulations!Hi folks![]()
Careering onto the thread with no notice to say hello, I had a positive test yesterday morning. Because we'd sort of been informally TTC, I cannot remember what weekend my last period started, I know it was a Saturday but my mind is blank. I think I'm 5 weeks.
Whilst finding out just before a Bank Hol and some annual leave booked after is probably good, it might also be not ideal because my autistic anxious brain has been climbing the walls since yesterday, Googling every random thing I can think of
(Is my particular SNRI anti depressant ok?
Can I eat a high protein diet? How much protein is too much protein? Can I paint my nails? Can I dye my hair? Can I weed the garden? How much decaf coffee is too much decaf coffee? And so on)
Also today I just keep bursting into tears. Like a Dad carrying his toddler in B&Q, started crying. Looked at my cat and started sobbing about how cute he is.
Probably not helped by the fact this morning I blitzed through Allen Carr's Easyway for vaping book and threw all my vape stuff away including walking to the nearest battery disposal point shop to get rid of the battery segments. I'd cut down nicotine strength to the weakest since the New Year anyway and then went 0% yesterday as soon as I found out, but just decided to rip the bandaid off today and stop feeling rotten for it
