I was over by a week. Ryan air cut off date is 28 weeks, my midwife did a fit to fly for me. When we flew out I had a massive coat on as it was the middle of the night and freezing, and they never noticed my tummy, but on the way back it was boiling in airport and I couldn't hide my tummy and they questioned me and asked for certificate. I think there may be different dates for different airlinesHas anyone got a fit to fly / certificate from Doctor to fly? We go mid June and I’ll be 28 weeks. It’s a 5 hour flight. At what point would you ask the Dr for this, maybe end of May? Thanks x
Is this your first pregnancy? You’re absolutely within your rights to choose, but I do think they like you to explore options with a first pregnancy if you’re open to do so as it obviously is major surgery, and then changes the game if you have any more pregnancies after having a section. I had an elective section with my first and while it was absolutely the right choice at the time, with hindsight I wouldn’t choose it again for my first. I ended up having another section as I didn’t want to be induced as the risks of an emergency section when going for a VBAC are much higher if you’re induced. There’s also the risk of uterine rupture which limits your options for a VBAC- for example I was advised against a waterbirth on the MLU. I could have still gone for it but it would have been against guidance meaning if anything went wrong they wouldn’t accept responsibility.I’ve just had my booking appointment at 10 weeks and the midwife was absolutely lovely but when I said I was thinking of a c-section and my reasoning (severe hip dysplasia which causes a lot of pain) she didn’t really comment other than confirming that’s what I wanted, and when I said I was open to suggestions she jumped on it and said she could definitely arrange someone to talk me through options. Is that normal? Is there a reason why they wouldn’t want me to have a c-section?
I had just never considered -how- they induce women and all this in depth talk of balloons when I’m stressed out my box with work sent me over the edge.Unfortunately inductions are pushed very heavily often for no real medical need and women are made to feel like they don't have a choice. I know it's easier said than done but try to block it out. You absolutely don't have to have one and unless there's a serious medical reason, you can give birth however you want.
Personally, my only hard no is an induction.
My day has gotten worse would you believe
bleeding a lot think I'm having a miscarriage
Mine came back looking much ‘worse’ but it was the standalone quadruple not the NT scan and screening? So mine says 1/260 but low. But my NIPT was like 1/13,000 so I’m sticking to that.Same, they used to have a higher number e.g 1/50000 for downs which had been reduced so it sometimes seems a higher risk when it comes back now like 1/5000 and it’s low ?
My first scan was at 6 weeks, I thought it was 7. Everyone here had encouraged me to hold on for as long as I could which was wise as if I had gone the week before I don’t actually know if they’d have seen anything much at all. JuniorDragName was a funny tiny smudge with a heartbeat, not distinguishable as anything at all, but the little short videos I have of that heartbeat going for it are still the greatest thing I’ve ever seen in my whole life, as exciting as it is to also have videos and stills of scans where they’re bigger and moving and waving and everything. I’m not a religious person but I tried to tell myself all I could do was try and eat healthily/stay as chilled as possible and what happened next was with some sort of higher power. That helped my anxiety a bit but I still had days where I would panic take another pregnancy test and all sorts so it’s not foolproof! But you go and enjoy that holiday (in moderation of course, haha!). Have a chill time, listen to what your body needs and all that! That sounds super sensible to be honest, I’m definitely going to get a private early scan just for anxiety sake. I’m actually going on holiday on the 21st so I’m going to try and get one for next Sunday because otherwise I don’t think my brain will be able to function!
I don’t know that’s my problemWhich style of each?
