This is either really niche, or a universal experience, but does anyone else’s husband/partner use the toilet as an excuse to just sit on their phone?
mine will spend ages in the bathroom and I can hear him just scrolling TikTok. It wouldn’t bother me, but it’s always while I’m trying to do something around the house and look after our toddler, and if he was sat in the kitchen on his phone obviously I’d ask him to help out, but because he’s in the bathroom I can’t!
To answer your question…
(I wouldn’t usually be so crass but it’d been half an hour)

Turns out my blueberry is probably still a lentil! My early reassurance scan has me measuring at 6 weeks rather than the 7 weeks that the first day of my last period would put me at. JuniorDragName was a blurry little smudge but there was a heartbeat moving and grooving away in there. If we’d been able to go next week instead then we would have been able to see a bit more but MrDragName is away and I couldn’t wait any longer anyway.

Hi lovely ladies, hope you don’t mind me joining! I’m very newly pregnant (5 weeks 4 days) with my second baby and haven’t told anyone in real life yet as would prefer to wait until I’m a little further along. So thought it would be nice to chat on here! Hope everyone is doing ok, looking forward to getting to know you all and having a shared moan when I get to the uncomfortable stage!

I know I've not really posted on this thread and it's probably very late to start now haha. 40 weeks today and woke up feeling crampy with some slight browny coloured discharge. Roll on this evening after a few hours at soft play with my toddler (yes I know I'm mad but his dad did the majority of the running around 😂) and the contractions have started. Not entirely sure what the next few hours are going to bring but after a 45hr labour the first time round, I'm hoping it'll be much less than that!

Here to rant about misuse of parent and child spaces today. Why is it that they’re always full of balding, middle aged men who have an Audi on PCP that they can’t afford so have to park in a bigger space?? It’s okay Dave, I’ll haul my pregnant arse and toddler from the back of the car park, as long as your mid-life crisis car doesn’t get a ding!

Pisses me off more when it’s women with much older children still using them, you’ve done your time and know how hard it is!!

Never mad at pregnant women using them, you absolutely need to towards the end.

I had a 6 week early scan today mainly to settle my anxious brain as I had completely convinced myself that something had gone wrong as I had been in and out of the EPU for blood tests 4 times in 8 days…
I saw the yolk sac, the gestational sac, embryo and a tiny little flickering heartbeat

Still convinced something will go wrong so I am trying to relax and keeping it very much a secret

Had the 12 week scan this evening, 4 days further along than i thought. But everything with baby was good and all on track so that was a relief!

Hi all, baby girl was born the 1st December
Our labour was quite traumatic which resulted in an emergency c section and a few days stay in hospital. Baby girl had to have a course of antibiotics straight away and get the all clear from her bloods before discharge but she was amazing.
we are home and I can’t say it’s been easy but we’ve been blessed to have great support around us and things are looking up now. I had no idea what c section recovery would be like (I’d planned a water birth so didn’t even research) on top of looking after a new baby. But she’s gorgeous 💗💗

Just found out I’m pregnant with baby 3!! Eeek very excited but also scared shitless about looking after 3 children 🫠😁

I haven’t told anyone yet, and think we’ll keep it a secret for a while longer than we did previously.

Love reading all of the post in this thread ❤

Hi! I’m about a minute pregnant. Been TTC over 18 months and were on the verge of starting an IVF journey when I got a BFP on Sunday. Well. It was a bit of a squinter but not a complete squinter. MrDragName and I are in disbelief.

Didn’t even realise they date pregnancies by your last period so somehow I’m 4 weeks ‘pregnant’ even though I’m not?! Cannot wrap my head around that but anyway! I think I ovulated on Boxing Day or the day after maybe. Anyways. I had a telephone appt with the GP booked for Friday which was to talk to him about our private fertility assessment and the NHS tests the private clinic wanted us to have and to get a stronger folic acid at their suggestion but I guess now it’s a slightly different conversation we’ll be having!

I’ve never been pregnant before, never seen a positive line on an HCG test. Should I be expecting the line to get darker over the coming days if I retest? I use easy@home strips. I did a Clear Blue digital ultra early response test too (said positive!) but they catch the same strength of HCG which is 10 (whatever unit of measurement) and I wonder if a 25 (unit of measurement) test would even catch that I was pregnant?! I guess I’m scared and in disbelief and I’d like to see a stronger HCG line/see it developing.

Also, I’ve had the oddest twingey feelings. Nothing like period cramps, can’t describe them. Not super painful, more uncomfortable? A couple of times when I’ve belly laughed it’s felt like my muscles are sore in my lower stomach as well. Is this normal? My app says I have something the size of a poppy seed inside me so I was a bit confused, it’s too small to be causing me any grief.

I’m a bit torn between wanting to make every plan under the sun and being scared this doesn’t work out for whatever reason and not wanting to get ahead of myself. I’m sure lots of you have been there or are there with me!

Went for an early scan yesterday as the anxiety is killing me. Measuring 5+5 so very early but we saw the heartbeat which was incredible to see so early on. Fingers crossed!

I’ve today found out I’m pregnant! Around 4-5 weeks I think. I’m excited to read through this thread and get some advice! I’m excited for this journey. This is my second pregnancy after a previous loss at 8 weeks. 🤍

Hi all! Taking the leap and joining this thread from TTC. Think I’ve been nervous to - in case I jinx anything. I think I’m around 6 weeks. It’s my second pregnancy - which took about 13 months to come along. I’m also 40 so had kind of made peace with being “one and done”. So far - much fewer symptoms than last time and I also have yet another horrible cough and cold so suffering a bit not being able to take anything. 😅

Our Snuzpod arrived earlier. Only 82 days left until due date. 🥰

Also my MIL has decided to get the shits that we bought our travel system without her. She said she’d pay for it back in August and we ordered it in October when there was a big sale on. She’s now saying she won’t pay for it because we robbed her of letting her choose one for us. 😂 I feel like I’m living a real life Reddit thread with her.

My waters broke last night! Had it confirmed by hospital and lost my mucus plug this morning. I have until 2.15am tonight before I have to go in to be induced because of risk of infection. Only had mild cramping here and there I don’t think there’s any full contractions. Has anyone got any tips to speed this up to avoid an induction?

Hi everyone! Coming in here (nervously) as I've just found out I'm pregnant! I'm only about 4-5 weeks but I'm really scared as I had a miscarriage in April but I'm trying to remind myself that is a new pregnancy and I really hope we dont go through that again. Look forward to chatting to you all 🩷🩷 x

My first midwife appointment was ok. It was so long (despite me having meticulously filled in the pre appointment form) and a bit disjointed because my named midwife is herself going on maternity leave and they don’t know who will take over from her, and I was seen by a student midwife which was fine and she was lovely but because I brought up my mental health everything became a little bit protracted. They were both really nice and although my BMI puts me in the high risk category, which I was expecting, they were super nice about it and I felt comfortable.

They gave me iron tablets because apparently everyone gets them but I don’t know if I want to take them? I do have my own iron tablet supplements which I get on ok with so maybe I’ll try those and see if that’s enough? It all became very convoluted that I had to take the iron tablets every other day with orange juice and not have any coffee for ages and this was all told to me at the end of the appointment when my head was spinning. I don’t drink orange juice every morning but my one and only coffee that I allow myself is my morning coffee and the threat of this being taken away is about ending me 🤣 not to be overly dramatic or anything….

I also remain confused about whether I am supposed to take the high strength folic acid AND the normal strength folic acid. I was asked what I was taking so I said high strength (as recommended by the fertility clinic I had started to engage with) and then I was asked if I was taking both and I said no, should I, and they said no, it’s fine, then I was given a bottle of pregnant lady multivitamins I am supposed to take which has folic acid in them. Honestly, I don’t know how something with a lower concentration span handles that booking in appointment. It was A LOT.
You’re better off taking the iron tablet with some water and eating an actual orange with it. I was also advised to take iron with orange juice and it sent my blood sugars wacky to the point they thought I’d developed late GD (I hadn’t but I had to prove it by monitoring blood sugars for a few days). The diabetic midwife said the consultant might as well have told me to drink liquid sugar. I’m still feral over it, as you can tell. 😂 I also took the iron tablet first thing in the morning and then had a coffee an hour later, and everything was fine.

I’m very grateful I took my iron tablets in the end as I lost a lot of blood during birth.

I suppose this is a good time to announce that Baby Rosey arrived. 🤣 She arrived via planned c-section due to being breech on the 11th weighing 9lb 12oz. Overall the experience was very positive despite my fear of having a section. There are some minor things I’d like a debrief on and also that baby Rosey suffered a birth injury as they cut her thigh while cutting into me. They’ve said it won’t scar but it makes me very emotional to look at.
