Went for a private nipt test today to hopefully rule out any possible problems 🤞hopefully the result comes back okay

Also found out today that baby is a boy.
I’m not as sad as I thought I would be and I’m not sad that he is a boy it’s just the missing out on girly things that makes me sad - as I don’t think we’d have anymore children after this one.
That and being outnumbered by stinky boys forever 😭
oh I totally get you, I’ve got 3 boys and a stepson and I’m a bit fed up of Minecraft, marvel and fighting rough play 😅 I wanna do girly things but I’m pretty convinced this is another boy 🤣

We have another growth scan next week because of fundal height measurement (3rd one now that’s flagged a scan). I’m looking forward to seeing baby again, but I was hoping to have a few weeks at least away from the hospital before baby arrives, as I’m officially on maternity leave 😂

Have been prescribed Xonvea but concerned about side effects.

Anybody else on Xonvea?
they started me on this in my first trimester, don’t remember any side effects but tbh it only worked for around a week, I was up to the highest dose and still vomiting all day everyday, hope you have more luck 🤞 odanastron was the only thing to help me but they don’t like to prescribe until second trimester. X

We had a 4d scan this week & I was told baby is estimated to be 3lb at 28 weeks. Their belly is measuring 80 something percentile but overall she was 58 percentile. Just worried this is big!
I have a GD test in a few weeks & supposed to be having growth scans from 30 weeks but none planned at the min

Our little one had a big tum at the 20 week scan and I’m overweight so I had the GTT which turned out negative, so don’t worry too much. No idea how big she is now but I didn’t get sent for extra growth scans and currently my fundal measurements are showing her as average size. I’ll find out how big she is in 3 weeks!

My fundal measurements have been normal too, but they said today I also have quite a bit of fluid around baby too. Wish they wouldn’t tell me anything :ROFLMAO:

We had pretty much identical measurements to you at 28 weeks. My fundal height has always been high so had an extra growth scan at 28 weeks which gave basically the same as you have, they were satisfied with that so had nothing further.
we had a scan at 36 weeks (standard at our trust) and still measuring big but tummy has evened out so they were happy with that!
So hopefully yours will even out too and it’s nothing to worry about 🥰

I was so excited to go pram shopping today, but it was such a let down. Most were so out of our budget and the ones that we could afford couldn't fit in the car. We have a small car and just couldn't fit the smallest pram in.

And we just saw people walking around buying these expensive travel systems and it just made me feel a bit flat. We think we've found one that will work online, but i just feel a bit meh after the whole thing.

Im lucky because my mum bought our pram set for us but i hated looking around John Lewis and mamas and papas knowing I couldn’t afford their cheapest sets while everyone else was just loving it.

have you looked in smyths toy store? Their travel systems are really reasonable and they have models in the floor in the baby bit so you can have a push and a try

I wouldn’t worry about the measurements too much. I had GD and sometimes baby measured 70% and others 40%. I think baby came out around 30% so I think people can measure differently

Thank you!! I’m not too bad, just finding c section recovery tough going as I am not one for sitting still. My blood pressure has been high since about 3 days pp which warranted a stay back in hospital last week. I found being in hospital tough - I wasn’t really sleeping or eating and it was SO WARM. Trying to breastfeed did not help - I lasted 3 days 😂 breastfeeding just wasn’t for me and I’m very happy that I was able to feed him for 3 days.

We found the one we liked in John Lewis then got it second hand on FB, coincidently from someone we know, for £100! OH was prepared to buy it brand new but I wanted to see if I could find it in good condition first and I did. I got new hood and bassinets cover fabrics for about £70 as they were sun damaged and it looked brand new. Soooooo glad because I hate it! Switched to a foldable stroller ASAP.
No part of me felt I was missing out, I was just so chuffed to think I’d saved like £700 and go to the stroller without feeling guilty.
Most travel systems you can buy spare parts for, fabrics, wheels, mattresses, seats etc. maybe have a look around.

Re measurements, I had maybe 5 growth scans. They were wildly out by about 3lbs. Don’t worry unless they’re worried and even then, they’re notoriously inaccurate.

Have you looked at the doona or something similar? Theres usually decent reductions online too. I love mine!

We actually found one that fits the boot of our car on eBay this morning. I've happily bought everything else so far on FB or Vinted, but just felt so flat going baby shopping (in an actual shop) for the first time and everything being so expensive.

We’ve bought everything second hand so far too and looks like we’ll be doing the same for the pram. The shop prices are often ridiculous aren’t they?! We can’t afford it, especially as I’ll be going down to maternity pay

I’ve said this before but there are baby toy and clothes subscription services and baby equipment hire sites that are beloved by the middle class mummy influencer types. £150 to rent a stroller for their Maldives holiday or £40 a month to be sent new toys you return each month. It’s a flex.
I don’t see how buying second hand is any different. Better for the environment, supports other families or charity shops, baby doesn’t know the difference from fresh out of the box. Everyone wins imo.

Treat pram shopping as a window shop, try out everything and note what you like about it. Then as others have said keep an eye on local nearly new sales and marketplace. People fork out a fortune and realise how much they hate them!

Little plonk is almost 2 weeks old and I’d definitely say my £10 Vinted bargain of the ergo baby aura wrap has been invaluable whilst trying to navigate life with a 3 year old too, dreading the other half going back to work next week, cried about 50 times already 🥲

I was the same after visiting mama and papas but we went to smyths and I found a travel bundle for way less than mamas and papas.
