I’ve never really had a craving the whole pregnancy. At 27 weeks I don’t know if I’ll develop one 🥲 I was looking forward to it 😂 I’ve just been plagued with nausea and reflux the whole time which has limited my ability to eat in general 😭
I've not had proper cravings but dear lord, I have eaten enough Mexican food to last a lifetime since being at my in-laws.

I’m not sure if it’s just me freaking out or if it’s common.. I’m booked in for induction tomorrow. I wanted a nice relaxing maternity leave but my partner didn’t really help with the prep and left a lot to do until the very last minute and now I’m feeling the pressure of trying to get everything done this weekend as well as being heavily pregnant and all the pains and discomforts of that. I’m a fucking mess. I want to reschedule the induction for a few dsys time just so I have enough time to mentally prepare myself

Sorry I feel like I’m trolling the pregnancy thread after leaving it 18 months ago but to confirm I really didn’t know 😂 I was erring on the side of caution when I rang them, I had been very sweaty for a few days (everywhere not just between my legs 😂) and I woke up very hot as usual but between my legs felt a little damp. There was no dripping, trickling, gushing and I didn’t feel anything other than dampness.

I have a friend who had no idea her waters had gone by the time she was in labour and her and her boy ended up with infections, not saying that to scare you but some people really don’t notice at all so for the midwife to say that is really surprising.
I have to agree, what the midwife said wasn’t my experience either. It happened once, no trickling, like I say I only noticed because I saw it and I only mentioned it off hand (thought maybe it had to do with the plug) as I called the following day due to on and off cramping/tensing but they said to come in.

Hope it goes well! My husband didn't see the point either but our images were amazing and since then he has been sending them to all his friends and family haha.
snap! We always said we wouldn’t but it was such an amazing experience. We’ve got another on Sunday with my parents 🤣🤣🤣

Had the worst night last night 😣 waking up every hour, either to pee, raging heartburn, can’t fall asleep, overheating…did anyone else have this in the first trimester? It’s like I can’t get comfortable and fall asleep anymore! ☹
Not the first, but from week 20ish that was me. I was up 5 times last night, then up at 6am being sick. Then I felt hungry so made some toast and ended up doing some work until 20 mins ago when I felt sick again. I did get anti sickness meds but some days they don't work as well as I wish they would.

31 weeks and experiencing mild period pains frequently. Freaking out had my twins at 32 weeks so full panic mode. Just passed by for some reassurance think last time i was ticking the 12 box this one really has flew by for me! Pelvic pain is a struggle too, someone said to me it’s a boy thing! Wishing you all healthy pregnancies and labour ❤
I’m 35 weeks and have been getting this the last 24 hours or so - literally feels like the day before my period, it kinda comes and goes low down but also my lower back. Going to keep an eye on it today and if it continues I’m gunna call triage.
I can completely understand why it’s freaking you out given your history! If you’re worried then please call your mat unit and ask them for advice!

Just having a little brain dump here, but I’m so torn on my birth preferences. We had an elective section with baby skates #1 and honestly had such a positive experience, and I recovered really well. I did feel though that I missed out on that ‘rush’ or relief moment when he was born because it was SO calm and organised and I feel like that affected my bond with him at first. I’m also scared of the recovery with an almost 2 year old in tow.

I really don’t want to be induced, and would choose another elective section over an induction, but I love the idea of a spontaneous VBAC. My only issue is that I really don’t want it to end in an emergency section, which I appreciate that you have no control over, so I feel like my only option is another ELCS.

Does anyone know if I can refuse consultant led care? I've had 3 pregnancies under consultant led due to health issues. But I've just had negative experiences each time. I just find it very stressful going up the hospital every week and sitting for 5+ hours to have tests, scans and waiting around to see consultants. My 2nd pregnancy I was bullied by 6 professionals in a tiny room who told me I was having a c section and booked me in . I actually went into spontaneous labour and gave birth naturally with no complications. My second pregnancy my daughter had a rare syndrome that I also have, and they suggested I abort the baby. During labour my fluid input and output were recorded, and because I had forgotten to record an output and call the nurse I was denied fluids during a 12 hour labour. I wasn't allowed to get up and move around and had to stay put in bed. I have ptsd from previous surgeries and professionals not listening to me and added complications. Obviously if there were issues with the baby I would be more than happy to go under fetal medicine and have them look after me
Technically yes, you can refused consultant led care - you can refused any type of treatment. That being said, you can't insist on being midwife led. Is there any way you can talk to the lead consultant? Tell them your fears and concerns and try to find a solution that everyone is happy with? If you need to, get PALS involved and the lead midwife.

It’s such a tough thing to get round our heads isn’t it! You desperately want children but at the same time don’t want two at once
I had an early scan at 6 and 8 weeks due to a bleed and they said I definitely only had one in there. I was relieved but my Husband wants twins because I said I was one and done but he wants another. I said to him the chance of natural twins is very low! Having said that an old friend was told there was definitely only 1 at a 9 week scan only to be told there was 2 at her 12 week. I wonder how often that happens?

Totally agree, I hate it. I even bought that stupid tool that’s meant to help with it. It doesn’t feel right at all and just felt like I’m doing it wrong!
That was going to be next on my list but maybe I’ll just give it a miss haha! I’ll try again in a few days 😩

Same 🙃 and I'm only 8 weeks. Wondering if I'll get a break in the second trimester before it gets worse, or if it will be like this the whole time.
Definitely need to broach separate beds with my husband.
I was terrible for it in the first trimester and then it settled in the second. The second tri is like a fever dream - so much energy in the day, no pain, sleeping through the night 🥰 then wham, back to this now at the end. Just had to have toast and then granola and yoghurt as I’m soooo hungry

Is it the whole breast or just the nipple? I get vasospasms of the latter but only post labour so I don’t know if it’s a possibility, but you can use warming pads to limit temperature changes - perhaps they could help even if it’s not that?
Whole breast and nipple. The pain is horrendous.

Does anyone else get this intense pulse / heartbeat feeling in their stomach, kind of lower left. I’ve tried googling and it basically says something to do with increased blood flow but I find it SO uncomfortable I hate it. Lasts like 5-10 mins. I originally thought it was baby hiccups but I don’t think so anymore 🤣

Congratulations lovely. ❤

Where did you get your dried pills made? I’ve been thinking about doing this!!
I lived South of Manchester at the time, I think this was a retired midwife who set up a "birthing support" business. If you Google along those lines you should find what you're looking for. It wasn't as gross as you think 🤣🤣

I’m finishing at 35 weeks but taking some hols. I sit at a desk all day and you’d think that would be easier but it’s ruining my back & legs  Had a solid day of meetings last week and couldn’t sleep with the pain later on

Does anyone else’s baby have quiet days? She is still moving about, but she definitely goes through certain days where her movements aren’t as ‘forceful’ as others
yep! Anterior placenta here as well so it’s a barrel of laughs 😂 on my feet all day in work so I barely feel the movements but I know there’s been one if that makes sense? Then just as I’m worrying on the 3rd day she’ll kick me so hard it takes my breath away.

Can anyone recommend a good non alcoholic wine? I love a glass with my roast on a Sunday and obviously haven't drunk since I found out but I really fancy a glass! I've tried one that was meant to be a good one from Tesco but it tasted like arse. Anyone tried any good ones? Don't mind if red, white or rose.
No recommendations but would just say be careful with what one you choose. Some alcohol free drinks do contain alcohol.

I have a bit of an embarrassing question - how do you tell the difference between leaking waters, wee and discharge?! I’m experiencing fairly wet underwear mostly in the mornings, it doesn’t smell of nothing but it also smells of something… it could also just be sweat because I’m waking up so sweaty during the night. I’m 37+6 today. According to Google I would know if it’s my waters breaking and also that leaking urine is very common… I don’t really want to have to go in to get checked unless I really need to

Funnily enough I did an antenatal class at the weekend and the midwife talked about this. She said cotton wool pads and warm water was currently best practice but obviously when your out and about not practical so water wipes were fine. My plan is to do warm water/cotton pads at home and water wipes elsewhere (and have put them in her hospital bag). I just wonder whether she will get used to the warm water and then scream when a cold wipe touches her 😂😂😂
she also said no creams to start unless obviously baby has a rash, which the midwife or HV can advise on at the time!

happy last week 🥳🥳
Are you always going to use water wipes or just for the first few weeks?

I remember you from being on here with my first in 2021 were you pregnant with your first then?! I lived in the US at the time and refused to get cervical checks from 36 weeks. Eventually let her at 39 and she gave me a sweep without even asking. I had a weird almost backwards labour in the end and I always wonder if that was why. Luckily she wasn’t too pushy about induction until 41 weeks. The hospitals there are bloody amazing though!!
I was! That was when I was pregnant with Elanna.

I would have been fuming if that was me. I don’t understand how she thought she had the right to do that - especially in the US where they sue for everything! I do think trying to push your body into labour if it’s not ready (and there’s no medical reason) can throw off your labour so it could be the cause for you.

The hospitals are amazing, you’re right about that. I’m not 100% sold on using them yet though. We had a spontaneous home birth with number 2 so I think we’ll go for the same again.
