I'm just 28 weeks so I'm annoyed that we didn't book our trip a week earlier (just going to visit family). My midwife called back to say it's only £30 instead of £50 but still seems a lot.
I just didn’t tell the airline I was pregnant and wore a baggy jumper… of course if anything happened on the flight it was the first thing my husband would have told them. But they didn’t ask and I didn’t tell🤷🏼‍♀️

Does anyone have any good cream/ lotion recommendations for stretch marks please? Just in the early days where they’re fresh and slightly painful and red. Thank you 💙
I love palmers cocoa butter x

Growth scan went went, baby is measuring perfectly. Feel like the tape measure method just causes unnecessary stress but I get it’s easier for them to do than all the ultrasounds
amazing! I have one in October, they won’t see me before 😩

I agree, this seems insane? My notes are all digital but surely your hospital number/DOB is all they need. If you colllapsed in the street when not pregnant and got rushed to hospital they wouldn’t need your medical history on a piece of paper…!
I'm just repeating the advice of one of the top gynaecologists in the UK. He went mad at his wife and made her carry them everywhere! I also chose to take his advice.

My trust don't have any electronic notes or an app - everything is paper in the mama academy A5 folder I got given at my booking appointment.

All the reports I've had after scans are printed and given to me and it just lives in my handbag.

However my midwife is utterly useless so it wouldn't surprise me if after my next appointment (which is with a different midwife) that I get told there is an app or something else I should be using 🙃

I’m 23 weeks and over the last couple of days it’s feels like I’m bruised down below / in my groin area, it’s not painful it’s just like achey. Is this normal?!
Can be the start of PGP, recommend looking into some physio exercises now (I’m 34 weeks and did F all and now paying the price) 🤣

Hi everyone, I’m 34 weeks tomorrow (yikes) and at my 34 wk appt today baby has jumped from 50th to 95th centile.
I have another GTT on Tues to check GD isn’t the cause - has anybody else had a jump like this?
I’m a bit worried they will push to induce me early if I do have GD / the growth is unexplained, which I really don’t want as am hoping for a home birth and it could impact that.
Thank you 😊
I don’t know about if it’s a sudden jump or GD but I skirted 90%-off the chart over all my growth scans (5 I think) and they wouldn’t consider anything before 39 weeks. They weren’t interested my water went 38+6 last time. They also said that they need to rescan every 2 weeks to rule out inconsistency when I was going up and down a big as 10%-15% difference is common between scans so that’s a possibility.

As it turned out baby was 7 1//2lbs at 38+6 again, all the scans were wrong predicting over 10lb.

Has anyone tried the Momcozy lactation massager or their S12 breast pump? My workplace has point rewards and I’ve got enough points for either the massager or the breast pump - they’ve got good reviews but wanted to know if anyone on here has experience with them. 🥰
I use the s12 - I bought a load off of vinted. I get on well with them, they’re not the most discreet though. But generally comfy to wear and easy to use etc

I'm having a really stressful time at work. I'm a room leader in a nursery and have a whole new team that are just not catching up quick enough. I'm 26 weeks pregnant and I'm struggling. I'm doing everything with management breathing down my neck. I've had high blood pressure ever since I got pregnant and it was under control with tablets but this last week has crept up high again which I think is due to all the stress at work.
I want to have a chant with my manager but I know nothing will change but I just want to do what's right for baby.

Rant over. Sorry I'm an emotional mess tonight.
AS a room leader in the toddler room I feel your pain! What’s does your risk assessment say? I’ve updated mine to extra ten minute breaks as and when I need them, and I don’t do any lifting or any jobs other than paperwork and delegating where everyone goes. We also just changed teams but I kept a lot of my older staff in the room which helped as my management team didn’t want to add too much change/stress me out - although 24 toddlers on our busier day is hell on Earth 😂 it’s so hard working in a nursery at the best of times let alone pregnant and having to carry on as normal!

Can I ask - how did you decide you wanted to find out the sex? I feel like I do as I’m a planner / more logical (eg only have to think of one set of names) but my boyfriend wants to wait. Others have also said they wanted to wait until birth.
We felt like there was no need to know early and it's one of the only surprises we would be happy to wait for. I'm also glad because I think if we knew it was a girl, we would have been unindated with pink/flowers dresses, and this way it's made people stick to neutral clothes and colours and get rid of the gender stereotypes in their gifts. Not to sound ungrateful but my mum would literally be handing us pink or blue things if we knew the gender and nothing else.

My back has started spasming on the lower left side and omg it’s the worst pain ever 😭😭 phoned triage to make sure everything sounded normal and they were just like ‘let the paracetamol kick in and ride it out basically’. I almost cried haha 😂 at least everything sounds okay with baby but my god I take back everything I said about the third trimester going well I refuse to deal with back pain for 8 more weeks 😂

Referred for a static growth scan, midwife didn’t seem too worried as first measurement was done at triage and wasn’t dated or signed so she thinks it could just be a case of two people doing a measurement. Fingers crossed for the scan on Thursday 🤞

We had one boy name (Rory) that we were dead set on and just couldn’t/can’t agree on a girls name!!!! Typical that she is a girl 😂
The two names we have picked are definitely a bit “out there” for my in laws - who made a face when one of partners cousins called their baby Allie (“just ally - not Allison!!!!??”).
I think they’d be happier with baby being called Maureen or Jeanette 😂

I can't get enough of ice lollies. Has anyone else had this craving? I'm feeling sick if I drink too much water and I don't want to have fizzy juice all the time. But today I've had 3 calipos 😂😂
Yep. This is the one craving that has lasted through the whole of my pregnancy. I also went through a Calippo phase but currently it’s Twisters. I’ve had two tonight before dinner 🤣

How are you all dressing small nurseries? I’m thinking some ikea drawers with a changing mat on top and a cot.. not sure we can fit much else in 🤣 unless anyone has any ideas?
My house is incredibly small, all the rooms already have dual functions. So the baby will sleep in a Finnish baby box ( there's a small gap by my bed), when it needs to go into a crib it'll go into the incredibly small spare room which is already my husband's office, stuffed up the side of the sofa bed - I've not actually measured, I'm just hoping. I'm thinking of having a 2x2 IKEA kallax with a plank of wood on top and some legs the other end as my husband's desk. Baby's clothes will go in the kallax and a bag under the crib. ABSOLUTELY no idea where I'll put the milk making/warming stuff. I've no room in my hallway so I'm putting the pram in the living room and using it as a moses basket.

Personally, I don't like having a changing mat in the bedroom, my small bathroom miraculously has space at the end of the bath. If your kid does a poonami, how are you going to wash your hands/clothes/ everything covered in poop? Germ phone here 🙋

So yeah, I've just read that back and realised my baby can't have it's own room in this house!!😱

I have had my appt through to speak to the obstetrician about this - is he gonna try and put me off??
I came to my appointment armed with all of my arguements as to why I wanted it - weren’t needed though because he agreed straight away! Hopefully you have yhe same experience, but if not remember you can ask to see someone else.

Did they offer a rescan at all?
Cute little nose and that pout !!

They’re so expensive! I want one with this baby as we had one with our first but hubby doesn’t really want to 🥲
Unfortunately not, I don’t think rescans are a thing where I am 🙁 Yeah I’m not sure if this was really worth 100€ tbh but I’ve mostly seen such great photos and I went with my mum and MIL and it was still such a cute bonding experience, just shame about her position. It is great for the birth tho but even the doctor said that there’s no reason for her to be doing all that so early! 😂

I worked until 36 weeks with my first on a job where I was on my feet most of the time (NHS surgeon) and on those last few weeks were a killer. Standing in one position for hours on a end nearly did me in.
I can't believe you did that. I WFH luckily and can do it from the sofa but I would have struggled even in the first trimester with how sick I was. Even last week I had to run off from a online meeting cause I was sick.
