I got a peri bottle and never used it due to c-section but it came in handy to shower over baby when we used a baby bath/sink wash or for sandy toes when they get bigger so not wasted.

How are you all dressing small nurseries? I’m thinking some ikea drawers with a changing mat on top and a cot.. not sure we can fit much else in 🤣 unless anyone has any ideas?
3 mths in and I’ve not used the changing table, just the bed or mat on the floor. Maybe when they’re bigger but I don’t think it’s a must if a wardrobe with drawers would work better. Or you can get those cot top changing mats.
---
For those mentioning that they’d rather be scheduled for a c-section than be induced, could I ask for insight on the reasoning behind this? I’m wondering if this is something I should consider myself, especially since I want to avoid an induction as long as possible.
I didn’t want drip induction (when I was considering going naturally) as I didn’t go well with it first time and apparently it makes contractions worse. But there are various methods and I kind of forgot that when I said I’d rather a section than an induction. It may be worth considering the different methods, seeing what you’d prefer/not want before ruling out induction as a whole.

Thank you. I shall check this out. Hopefully it has some tips about morning sickness. Not been feeling great and getting worried about throwing up on the commute. What makes me super worried is I get the train with up to four colleagues - including the MD! (depends if we bump into each other on the platform, we usually do).
I can't offer any sickness tips but I had awful nausea between weeks 8 - 17. The only thing which helped me was eating bland but small and often (rich tea biscuits and plain crackers with a tiny bit of butter!) and keep hydrated with small sips all through the day. Chewing gum helped also but nothing else i tried did the trick!

But it does pass and get better - I'm 27 weeks now and enjoying pregnancy!

delete this now 🤣 don’t need that type of negativity hahahahaha
Mine started to go on Friday, stopped on Saturday, then lost it again on Sunday and my waters broke the Monday morning. When I googled it said it could be up to two weeks, fingers crossed things progress for you!

We had a 4d scan this week & I was told baby is estimated to be 3lb at 28 weeks. Their belly is measuring 80 something percentile but overall she was 58 percentile. Just worried this is big!
I have a GD test in a few weeks & supposed to be having growth scans from 30 weeks but none planned at the min
We had pretty much identical measurements to you at 28 weeks. My fundal height has always been high so had an extra growth scan at 28 weeks which gave basically the same as you have, they were satisfied with that so had nothing further.
we had a scan at 36 weeks (standard at our trust) and still measuring big but tummy has evened out so they were happy with that!
So hopefully yours will even out too and it’s nothing to worry about 🥰

Hello ladies.

I was looking to book antenatal classes for me and my husband and was wondering if any of you have any strong opinions on NCT or Bump and Baby Club?

A pregnant friend is doing them both (?!) but I will definitely only get hubby to go to one lot, not to mention the expense. Does anyone have any experience with either? Xx
We did NCT and thought it was great. Had a really funny and down to earth leader who just gave us all the info. And have lucked out with a really nice group of 7 other couples that we’ve already had some pre-baby socials with!

Feeling so lonely this week, I’ll be 31 weeks this week so all the support and excitement at the start has just completely gone. Nobody checks on how I am, my husbands family never bother with us anymore (my family are far away) and just struggling with low moods and pain 🥲🥲🥲
I'm sorry you're feeling like that this week. I think it's hard when all the excitement dies down a bit. I feel like I got lots of sympathy at the start because I was so sick, but no one bothers too much about how I feel now (aside from my partner and one friend). It just doesn't hit home with my mum when I tell her how sore the ligament pain has been. I feel like she's more concerned with looking at baby clothes in the shops than how I might be feeling.

We’ve been discharged from fetal medicine !

Need to go back to antenatal for scans later on because placenta is covering cervix. But everything with baby actually looks okay now 🥰

We did get some scan pics (had to ask) and did not have to pay for them 😅
Ahh amazing, so happy for you 🩷

depending on your area you can send online forms or get the number direct to register - some people have to go through their GP, I just googled my trust name and maternity services and it told me what to do. GP surgery website sometimes has phone numbers/links also!

ETA: I still think it’s strange no one tested my urine for pregnancy 😂

so excited your here woooo 🥳🥳🩷🩷
Same - I called my GP and said I just found out I’m pregnant and the receptionist scoffed and was like “and what would you like us to do about that?” 😂😂

Thanks for all the advice! Yes I’m in the U.K. ☺ I’m going to contact my GP tomorrow and let them know, and then hopefully be in touch with midwife services 💓 glad I can choose the hospital I want my care to be at!
Really recommend looking into the CQC ratings for maternity departments near you. I have three hospitals I could have chosen, and the one I’ve gone with is rated outstanding whereas the other two are far worse. I’m sure it’s all relative and people have great experiences at the other two, but there are some quirks that you wouldn’t know til you’ve read up on them. You can also do a tour of most maternity wards which is worth doing to see what you’re in for.

I think I know the answer to this but I'm not sure I've felt the baby move today and my stomach feels so tight and achey. I should call triage shouldn't I to see what they say? Silly question too, if they ask me to go in will they see me without my maternity notes? My notes are at home but I pass by the hospital on my way home from the office so it makes sense to go straight there from work.

Only 4 weeks 4 days but the nausea is starting to get to me. The thought of food has been making me feel queasy for a few days now.
Anyone got any good tips to cope with it?
I’ve been having a digestive biscuit first thing, but the main thing that’s helped is these tablets. Made the sickness disappear completely to the extent I was worried something was wrong! I stopped taking for a day or two to see if I was still getting sickness and it did return.

Sorry I feel like I’m trolling the pregnancy thread after leaving it 18 months ago but to confirm I really didn’t know 😂 I was erring on the side of caution when I rang them, I had been very sweaty for a few days (everywhere not just between my legs 😂) and I woke up very hot as usual but between my legs felt a little damp. There was no dripping, trickling, gushing and I didn’t feel anything other than dampness.

I have a friend who had no idea her waters had gone by the time she was in labour and her and her boy ended up with infections, not saying that to scare you but some people really don’t notice at all so for the midwife to say that is really surprising.
Interesting!! I’ll go and get checked later today. It’s crazy the amount of conflicting info! She said unless I’m noticing it going through onto other things (I.e my trousers or the bedsheets) and only noticing it when I go to the loo (I.e seeing it in my knickers) then it’s not enough to worry about.

Looking for some reassurance from those who have had more than one pregnancy! I’m 7 weeks along with baby 2. First pregnancy was a relative breeze. I do remember some fatigue in my first trimester but no sickness whatsoever. This time I’m absolutely exhausted (I do have a 2 year old so I know it makes sense to be more tired) and I’m feeling sick all day long. Not actually vomiting- it’s not that bad. More like bad hangover all day.

Is it normal for 2 pregnancies to be so different? I’m spiralling thinking it means there’s more than one in there. I could cry even thinking about that possibility. Booked an early scan this Friday to try and ease my mind
Yep I had the exact same with #2! I remember being nauseous for about a day with my first but the second one was awful and I really struggled. Only one baby (thankfully) but both girls so no idea why it was so different!

I started feeling better about 10-11 weeks I think, hope you do soon as well.

anyone else’s gut feeling about their babies gender correct?
I’m sure with my first I thought he was a boy from fairly early and was correct. I did have boy feelings at first this time but more recently over the last few weeks been feeling more toward girl. Maybe wishful thinking since we already have a boy.

I was told at my fetal medicine scan on Wednesday that I have a left lateral placenta some theory says girls on the left and boys on the right - but not always the case

it really is just one of those things that’s 50/50 isn’t it? 😂

I’m still waiting on test results so I don’t know why I’m letting myself get attached here 🥲😭😭
I had a gut feeling each time and had 3 boys, gut feeling again that it’s another boy but I think that’s just my brain trying to protect my from disappointment 🙈 it’s a different dad this time so completely possibly it could be a girl but I won’t let myself believe it. You never know though, my mum had a gut feeling with her last 3 and was wrong every time 🤣

At what point do I contact the gp? Currently 4 weeks so still super early and I don’t want to jump the gun on things and jinx it!
I recognise you from the TTC thread! Congratulations. I just filled out the self referral form on the midwife page for my area. No need to go through GP

I was so excited to go pram shopping today, but it was such a let down. Most were so out of our budget and the ones that we could afford couldn't fit in the car. We have a small car and just couldn't fit the smallest pram in.

And we just saw people walking around buying these expensive travel systems and it just made me feel a bit flat. We think we've found one that will work online, but i just feel a bit meh after the whole thing.
Im lucky because my mum bought our pram set for us but i hated looking around John Lewis and mamas and papas knowing I couldn’t afford their cheapest sets while everyone else was just loving it.

have you looked in smyths toy store? Their travel systems are really reasonable and they have models in the floor in the baby bit so you can have a push and a try

I agree, this seems insane? My notes are all digital but surely your hospital number/DOB is all they need. If you colllapsed in the street when not pregnant and got rushed to hospital they wouldn’t need your medical history on a piece of paper…!
It’s daft isn’t it? All I did today was give my name and they found me!

I’m much more likely to lose my notes by carting them about so I only bring them to official pre booked appointments. They don’t do this for any other speciality that I’m aware of so I’m not sure why they do it overall 🤔

Congrats to all the new mummy's to be!
My glucose test came back fine. So now I'm just panicking as to why I have so much amniotic fluid. I googled it and shouldn't have and nownhave to wait till Thursday to see our consultant.
